I just love this story. It is so well written. I actually read it years ago before I became a member of the site and I couldn't find it along with Diplomatic Relations (that's how I got hooked on these two pairings). I am so glad I found it. I hope someday you will write stories.

Interesting. Not quite sure if Gai should worry about Kakashi changing when the mask goes on... seems more likely that Gai will be lost in his alternate personality than Kakashi, Gai's personality takes a much more dramatic change, Kakashi just gets excited by the kills... most warriors get like that. Sorry, that's off the point.

The fight scenes are very detailed, nice job. The characters are believeable, rarely straying too far from the series characters.

You have such beautiful and dreadful imagery- the sun like the blade of a knife on the horizon, excellent

I've read so much of your work. (The Diplomatic Relations-verse is positively beautiful!) but until now I hadn't realized that you were on AFF! *is slow like that and stuff* I'd read this already somewhere else when kiss_me_deadly posted a list of KakaGai fic recommends I saw your name and clicked on it. I ended up re-reading the whole thing without even realizing it. Your work just sucks the reader in and pins them down. I totally love it.

This is amazing ^^ I heard about this pairing, long ago, and was grossed out, to tell the truth. But since I'd read DR, I wanted to read your other fics, and now... I hate KakaIru and need KakaGai like I need air XD A pity there aren't many authors who can write it well...

Thank you for making me love KakaGai!!!

Thick with intregue.Hard fast sweet, deep.Emotionally deep.I am impressed, Lee was deeper too..This makes way more sence than Iruka /Kaka but Sasuke was told all Kakashi's friends where dead....of course Kakashi lies like a rug in fan fics.Dense with impressions.Great style.Gai was spooky..no matter what Kakashi is always a time bomb in my mind.

I really enjoyed this story. You did a great job with the fight scenes - they're easy to understand and flow well. The character scenes are great, too. Thanks!

You've hooked me on this pairing. SasuNaru will always be my first love in the Naruto fandom, but KakashiGai is very delish also. Very nicely written. Thank you for sharing this lovely fic.

Awww I was almost hoping for a rump in the leaves too Kakashi... but yes that was ceratinly something, I felt a tinge of respect for the tonfa man too, that was cool. And Lee so diligently waiting at the doorstep, giving Kakashi's reluctant respect, it was cute. I have to admit Gai isn't my idea of a bishie man, I think his antics are adorable which would explain why I love Lee so much, but he is underated and the pairing is logical in my way. Gai doesn't have drop dead sexy features but his personally is just too precious I'm glad someone appreciates him too.

"As soon as Gai put on that bloody mask, he never said a word. Maybe it was simply discretion; he had, to say the least, a very distinctive speech pattern. Kakashi’s guts were telling him it went deeper than that and he disliked it. But he never mentioned it. What went on behind the mask stayed there."
*has chills*
That is such a good mental image! Also:
"Come back."
That sequence where Gai is talking Kakashi down while he's wired is marvelous!

The parts with Lee are great. "The Look", indeed. *giggles*
