I read this, then immediately had to go and read "Lines" only to come back and reread this. The second reading was so much more powerful. The first reading had me thinking "oh god, how could Sasuke do this to Naruto?" and then I read "Lines" and now I understand. Sasuke doesn't even know the whole truth of it and we don't see what Naruto is thinking here, but damn betrayal like that just makes my heart cry. Betrayal by both Naruto and by Sasuke. They betrayed each other. That's just, just heartbreaking. The petty side of me is saying - Naruto deserved that and more, he should suffer for a long time for what he did. In the eight months that this had been going on he should have broken things off with Sasuke rather than cheat. Cheating yet claiming to love someone is one of the most personal betrayals and god Sasuke doesn't deserve to lose one more person that he loves.

BUT, we don't know what Naruto is thinking and we have never seen the workings of their relationship. We don't know how Sasuke has been treating Naruto so I don't want to point any fingers.

I'll just finish up by saying this was very well written. I really felt for the characters. You made them REAL for me. I'm a sucker for happy endings though. So maybe your next fic can be have a happy ending?? Please?

God... that made my heart ache... just a little. Okay... maybe a bit more than a little. Damn.
