I like that line, “The guessing part is scary.” It’s definitely scary when it involves Sasuke. ____ Good description of what each character has and what they lack. Nice use of symbolism too, when mentioning Kakashi’s mask. “He goes to … He goes to … He goes to …” I like that as well. ____ I like Naruto’s panic. And I like this story. It’s got angst, but not bad angst. ____ Nice bit about the red in Sasuke’s eyes. It startled me for a second. ____ I also like the part when Sasuke stares past Naruto. ____ I wonder if Sasuke says “Let me go” to Naruto or to someone he’s thinking about. And “animal panic”—another great description! ____ Yaaay, a happy end. =) (Well, it’s happy to me.)

"And after Sasuke's bruises are soothed away with tea and harmless chatter, Kakashi can work at building Sasuke's self-confidence until the next time Sasuke needs him, needs him to say the things he still can't quite bring himself to believe."

Love that line. I'm stunned absolutely speechless by this story.

What a beautiful picture of how Naruto and Sasuke are. Really-really-really, from concept to style to... well, just how concisely you communicated something so complicated.

I agree (with what I think you're thinking, anyway)! I don't think this couple would ever, ever be as simple as many would make it out to be. This pairing (are there others? I hardly notice) is about more than simple angst... it's damned near impossible.

Which is exactly why I love to see how we keep trying to navigate a way for it to exist. Besides, these guys would thank us, if we ever did find a way for them. To me, it's canon.

So, we owe it to them!
