I liked the style of this very much. It is realistic in how complicated and bittersweet choices in life can be, even when they seem very simple and straight forward. I also like how the timeline was broken up. It took a bit to get used to, but it very much fit the story.
The part I had a hard time understanding, though, was in the beginning. Kakashi is alive and talking to Sasuke in the marketplace, where he says "Loss is common, gain is hard." It appears that this is after Sasuke has been reaccepted into Konoha, and Kakashi died in the battle.
Overall, great story, and I understand that this is story is something of a one-shot, though I would like to see more (I like the drama and the angst). I hope to see more stories from you.

and i thought i won't find a new fic to read. believe me it is true that badfic outweighs good, and i must say this one's G-O-O-D. :D although the time skips and flashabacks are a bit hard to follow, the content, the delivery and the voice is well put. i like this. :)

with all the time skips i had trouble understanding the first chappie. then i put everything together and it was unberably sad, but what i really want to know is what happened to the kyuubi and who was the girl in the fist chappie at the very beggining. And the greatest question of all that i will be asking myself until you update is........Was it worth it?......... just makes me so sad but it's the truth, probably how people on life support feel just let them go and nobody listens to their silent pleas.
man this story is depressing, but addictiong at the same time can't wait till you update again
ja ne till next time

I can't believe that this only has three reviews...
It's for stories like this that I read fanfiction. So incredibly well-written. One of my favorites. I hope, one day, to be able to write so well...

That was beautiful. I liked how the plotline alternated between the past and future events... And your characters are so well written, especially Sasuke's POV, to my mind.
Only I didn't quite get it, if Kakashi died in the battle with Akatsuki and Orochimaru, how come he's telling Sasuke later that what he has with his teammates is neither simple nor easy - is it a earlier recollection, before Sasuke left the village? Still, I liked it very much. Thank you for writing it. ^_^

I would just like to say, that this is the singularly, most enveloping, intricate work of fiction of this genre I have ever had the fortune of reading. In a world where bad fic outweighs good, you have here a real chart topper. Thank you for sharing.

Amazingly written!
Uwah. I hope you continue this, but even if you don't, and that was the end, it's.. Gorgeous. Now I have to read your other stuff to see more of your beautiful work!
