One of my friends from elementary to high school has Asperger's. It isn't going to be easy, but if you do the research there are programs to help (especially once your son is an adult, so he can live on his own if he wants [or you do], even if he can't keep a job). I'd have to ask my friend's mom what they are... from the perspective of being a friend, all I remember is you had to be very literal, and find the way in. For my friend, it was science and ecology. "Don't stand on that cliff you'll fall" was met with an argument (real instance at Dry Falls, Washington o.O;;). "Get back behind the rail, you're disturbing the ecology" brought instant response. Priorities, and all. We have nothing in common now, but we did have a lot of fun together as kids.

Also I've been hearing a lot of anecdotal response from people with autistic children (not the same thing, I know, but related, if I recall correctly) that gluten-free dairy-free diets help a lot with being able to function. I'm allergic to gluten, adult-onset, so yes, adjusting your diet is a PAIN, but there's a lot of information to help.

Good luck! It's hard, but the hardest part (not knowing what you were dealing with) is done. Now you've just got to track down information (unless your doctors are saints and angels, you're going to have to do your own research to learn anything in any reasonable amount of time) and figure out how to balance everything. Ganbatte yo! We're rooting for you.

That said, on to the fic!

I'm really glad to see this continued- and I'm sorry you've had such a terrible time of it in RL.
I've always liked this story and I was so very pleased to see it updated! You do angst and H/C so beautifully. I don't, as a general rule, EVER bug for updates- back in the day when the internet was powered by rubbing two saber-tooth cats together, someone sat me down and told me it was annoying and rude. But if it makes you feel good, then that's what you should have, because you do deserve encouragement for this- I, at least (and those lovelies who begged for you to come back!), love this story, and I really, REALLY want to see you bring it through to its conclusion. I really, REALLY want to see Naruto bring in the cavalry. I want to see the place RAIDED, even after the fact, when Kakashi isn't there any more. I want to see what happens!
It's the kind of story where the ball could be so easily dropped, and not have it live up to what it could be- and you haven't yet. So thank you, SO MUCH, for not adding to the sea of mediocrity, and instead giving us something shiny and entrancing to look at. Thank you. ♥
