Wow! Interesting assassin stories! Very dark and yet not dark--well, I think you'll get what I mean. I'm Regency Cathy over on Y!, where we've interacted. I wonder if these are connected--same assassin firm or something, or just an assassin series? Anyway intrigue, interesting, powerful!

hi,
happy dance for the update. Love Haku and Zabuza, can wait to see what you plan for these two later. Keep up with the good work. I wonder, if in your futur writting your planning a group missing for them (all or half the characters from these oneshot fic series. If I'm correct them all have the same boss.). I think the songs part Zabuza sings is from the group Chimaira. Not my cup of tea, but my friend who like hardcord, think it from them. Well, since I like your style and writting I will go an read your Gundum Wing story (even if I hate giant robot stories, anime...) and leave a review. Update soon.
read you later

Imagine my surprise, when, after posting my update, I start sorting through things and find that you updated not only "over the edge" but ALSO added this chapter!!
OMG! TWO updates! You rock my world!
I loved this chapter! I think you caught Zabuza and Haku down perfectly. PERFECTLY, I say!!!
You know, and it might sound odd, but I really liked the dark, demented and twisted Zabuza you created here. It's remarkably IC to the flashback they have of that little kid standing in the mist after the slaughter. I loved the bayou as the backdrop (great clone for the mist) and it fits Zabuza to a T. The machete thing made me laugh, no lie. Lol. And the singing. It was such a great little detail to have the music as his personal soundtrack.
And your Haku! Oh, he's so perfectly IC it's heartbreaking. His father doesn't care for him, but he's still willing to submit and endure for him. And how resignedly he takes his fate..."Are you here to kill me or use me?" Oh Haku. *pets* And now's he's got a new master to submit to.
I'm curious as to how Zabuza is going to handle this. Obviously he has problems with the notion of abuse in the non consensual sense cause it reminds him of his childhood. And yet, there's the underlying attraction to Haku that you can almost taste at the end along with his need to be a controlling, sadistic bastard. I'm curious how those two internalized needs are going to be balanced.
SO EXCITED FOR MORE!!!

I really liked Zabuza in this, which was in character and all the more delicious against the bayou swamps. It was definitely an unexpected background for illegal activities (up to this point, everything has been happening in the big bad city), but it certainly made a lot of sense for "the devil of the Hidden Mist" when you consider all the boot-legging, moonshining and more recently meth labs.
And his meeting up with Haku (whee)! Of course I’m looking forward to find out a little more about Zabuza – is he a freelancer that’s not associated with any particular organization? And where did Haku pick up his “skill to kill”? And how are things going to develop between them since Haku strikes a certain resonance in Zabuza? I know, I can hear my own answer on that last question, “well what do you think gonna happen between them?” But I’d like to see the process of how it happens (smirk).
For which I'm so happy you plan on putting out 40 chapters (whee!). So please don't be discouraged that you're not getting bombarded with reviews. Again, as its has already been mentioned, this is not a Sasuke/Naruto fic. And this leans more towards the gritty and pyschological with a bit of suspense tossed in (as well as smutty, fucked up sex) than most are used to reading.
Besides, I want to know how this fucked up shit is going to end! Chinatown, baby -- if you know your modern day noir films you know what I mean!

hi,
what can I say, love it. That hit the spot. It is rare that I like violence, sex and twisted kinks, unless the plot hold very well and the writting style complement the large picture. Can wait to read more, off Sasuke and the other characters you name. Love to see how you portrait them. Sasuke persona was right on the dot, I can easily imagine him like that. Keep the good work.
read you later

This was absolute genius!
I loved the premise, or rather, the twist on the existing premise of the ninjas as modern day assasins! I haven't read that before and really, it was genius.
But the thing I loved the most in this story was your Sasuke. Your characterization of Sasuke was pure win. You've made him so broken, but yet aware of it. You can feel his almost desperate need to find completeness in someone and yet, you managed to keep him so IC. He's still an utter bastard, cold and uncaring and deadly. And yet he's not...he so just wants to find that person to fulfill him, to mend the gap in his life that Itachi created and the others exploited and magnified.
I really, really like this world you've set up! I'm very excited to read the next parts you have up.

Could you please continue Sasuke's story? The first chapter is just so amazing it would be devastating if you only concentrated on other characters since Sasuke is my favorite XD You really did fantastic job! I haven't read a fanfic as fascinating as this for a long, long time.
