I don't know what those haters were expecting. Despite the entirety of the story being mostly hetro, it was listed under male/male. I've very much like you in that I don't really care either way the romance in the stories fall, just so long as the story is good. Actually, I love the way you ended it. Sasuke so fearful of Naruto rejecting him when he comes back to discover his raven is no longer a woman. Plus I like the way you revealed it as a henge surprise. Really very good.
