Congratulations on another excellent story! I believe this is the first Itachi/Sakura I've seen that has a believable kidnapping scene! I don't think all the scene breaks in Chapter 3 were necessary. When Itachi was watching Gaara and Sakura's discussion, the scene break when you shifted to his POV threw me off a little. You paint a very interesting image of Sakura's childhood and the interaction between child Sakura and Itachi was completely plausible. I'm not a Sasuke lover, so the scene when Gaara told Sasuke that Sakura was more interesting was particularly enjoyable. I suppose executing Sasuke may have made me like it more, but that doesn't exactly fit the plot.
The Akatsuki characterizations were interesting. Having Zetsu support Madara's Tobi act enforced the Tobi image in the others' minds. That was well chosen and beautifully orchestrated. The only thing that I question is Pain's characterization. He still feels a little off, like something is missing. This may be because you've shown more of the other characters and their motives. I'm not sure.
If the above seems a little harsh, it isn't intended to be. I personally despise reviews that say "good job, write more", so I tried to write a more constructive review. In this case, that was very difficult to do because there really weren't any gapping problems. Thanks for posting such an enjoyable piece. Keep up the good work.
