Heya! I just finished reading the story. I just want you to know that I thought it was brilliantly gripping. I really feel for Shikamaru as I also lost a loved one recently and can understand what he must be going through. I liked how you made him move on in the story and not fall into total depression. It is always important to have a positive outcome to stories with such topics.
Well, basically I just want to say "Well done!" I enjoyed reading the story from the beginning to the end!

I remember reading the earlier parts to this series but I never completely read Life of Shinobi and didn't even start Night of the Dead.
Well I was browsing stories and decided that I would finish this.
I freakin cried my eyes out.
I have not, before this, read a story where one person in an extended relationship ends up dying. I've read stories where the characters get together, maybe express their feelings but aren't together for a long period of time and then one of them dies. This story was a complete shock to me. I always expect those happy endings everyone writes, they get together and stay together, the end. Don't get me wrong I love those endings, I'm a sucker for a love story with a happy ending, but this. I loved that you put the possibility what happens in the "real" world. They're shinobi and they can die on a mission.
I think you did an extremley awesome job with this, with the emotions and everything.
Though Night of the Dead was very conflicting. Everyone wants that second chance and I loved that Shikamaru got his chance with Neji. But Neji was/is dead.
It was disturbing and sweet and I just try not to think about those certain scenes.
Overall awesome job!

I love you stories. You have such depth to them. And sweetness. Never lose your happy endings! Or at least, the characters leave with hope for the future. :)

I was /this/ close to crying during this chapter. I honestly didn't expect to find Neji leaving Shikamaru to be so sad!
However, I'm really glad that they had a sort of conclusion.
This fic has been beautiful. Thank yuo for writing it.

Hey, great update^_^
I remember reading this when you first uploaded ages ago when it was just a one shot and it magically turned into all these amazing stories of love and sorrow. Each time i read them, it's either a wash of pity for the characters or a huge squeel at how sentimental you make them. You truly have a natural gift at the craft of writing. It's not just Yaoi you write, it's truly lovable romance.

*wipes tears away* That was a beautiful but sad chapter. Naruto finding out that Minato is his father and Neji giving Shika his blessings...*fresh tears well up*...And as much as I'm crying now and will probably do so in coming chapters I want to read more. Thank you for this beautiful story!
