They find out about his powers in the "Sora" arc. They all gather at Naruto and Sora's fight after dispatching the revived NiNja Guardians. They see him take on a form of the two tailed fox. From there we can guess that Shikamaru, being a chuunin (jounin?), has recieved info from the Hokage as well.

As to your question in the latest chapter..... Shikamaru knows because Tsunade told him, feeling that he was smart enough and liked Naruto enough to keep a secret. Sakura found out the same way. The rest of them SUSPECTED that there was something different about Naruto, but didn't know for sure until the latest chapters of the manga.

Meh, Hinata will beat down anyone who insults Naruto's new look!

Hehehe.. great couple of chapters. =^^=

Although I'm slightly surprised Naruto didn't pull a Shino and buy a large trench coat or something to cover up his tail or a hat to cover his ears. Not that anybody in wave country would care, but Konoha would be a different story all together. Alot of those villagers think he's the fox already. This physical change will not go over well at all. :( (Although, worse comes to worse, I guess that's what henges are for, I suppose.)

Keep up the great work! (Side review note: I laughed my ass off when I read your A/N about queazy people needing to "suck it up" regarding the violence. They're reading stories about ninjas. I'm assuming they've at least read the manga or watched the anime or something to know there *is* going to be some violence going on. I mean what the hell? LOL ^^)

Hope you update this story soon... I like your theory for those two get together... But in the begining of Shippuuden it seemed like Sakura actually started to like Naruto but who knows.

I agree with you that Hinata, above all others, deserves to get her Naruto. The same way I think Rock Lee deserves to get Sakura. I know in the manga Naruto originally claims he loves Sakura, but he never has any sort of dedication or devotion towards it like Lee or Hinata have. Its more of a whimsey over a cute girl. If he was serious, he would have made some grand declaration about making Sakura his bride or something. Naruto never makes such a commitment so I believe he is up for grabs (here's hoping Hinata picks up the pieces! ^^)
