I really enjoyed this. It was evocative and deep with a true understanding of the harsh realities they have to face with their decisions. You were very correct with the line of them having squandered their chance. But...there are always second chances, rare as they are. And I have to say, either path picked for a continuation would be nice. I think the idea of writing both and allowing us to decide the one we like best is perfect! Just a thought...you understand. ;)

Please continue this. I liked the 2nd solution best, but would love the 1st one as well

Just this one chapter had me wanting more. To be a leader is sometimes doing things you don't want to. Is it too callous to think that one should die so that thousands may live? That the needs of the many outweight the needs of the one? I believe it was Queen Elizabeth I that stated "Uneasy is the head that wears the crown."

I feel for Naruto. To have to kill your best friend because they were a threat to the safety of the village is a lot to shoulder. No matter what Naruto decided it was a case of "damned if you do, damned if don't."

I, for one, would definately like to have this continue. I opt for #2.

I really like this. You should do the option where he figures out its a fake.
