Amazing read! The change in POV is in no way repetitive (like others I've read ) and adds so much to the story.

YES! I'm so happy to see you're writing again--and just my luck, you're writing one of my all-time favorite pairings! There isn't nearly enough Shika/Neji and your work is just as fantastic, exciting, and addictive as it always was. The dynamic you've created between the two of them is just mesmerizing. Haha, I just know now that I'll be checking your page obsessively for updates about a million times a day, but it's so worth it.

The descriptions of Shikamaru in Chapter 2 are masterful. I particularly loved,

"And like the way the low sun stretched out the shadows on the road, time stretched out for Shikamaru."

I have always thought of him as a kind of a Zen master. Yes, he is able to think 7 steps ahead but he is also able to dwell in the moment as your descriptions of his experiences describe so well.

"He let his mouth feel the texture of the food, swish the tea, savor the flavors. The warmth of the food, a sip of cold water, the mix of temperature, texture, and taste juxtaposed perfectly. His fingers caressed the teacup, its ripples smooth and warm beneath them. The chopsticks were cheap and rough; the china spoon cool and hard. The wood of the table, the linen of the napkin, the soft feel of his own skin when he rested his cheek in his palm: all these touches brought him a peaceful pleasure."

And the dual POVs are working so nicely. You show what Neji and Shika have in common before they know from conversation what they have in common. Such as their enjoyment of nature and the silent meal together.

I'm really enjoying this and I have to say that other than being fabulously well written, I haven't recognized the d/s Hestia (yet) and that is just fine with me because I am am enjoying this element of Hestia just as much!

(longest review I've ever written; you inspire me!!! ♥)

God those two are adorable. Shika and his Ibiki-Neji. Neji and his naughty Shika. I enjoyed your description of their meal from Shika's perspective -it was so decadent. And flustered Neji is cute. Those two are worth the trouble.
