You're scaring me Mannah. Just when I think that we are going to be ok, you hit me with a shock. What is the purpose of the endless challenges on Orochimaru's orders? Is this an opportunity for him to attack and take one or more of the kits? Everyone is down in the killing square. Who would be able to protect the household in the event of an attack? I understand that there is protocol and tradition to be followed but I have a hard time with everyone being so willing to surrender to it when honor and tradition are not always being held on the other side, if that makes sense. This story makes me crazy sometimes, I need a good long chunk of happy times after this. I know this is a drama but damn we just got bombed not too long ago, we can't afford any more casualties. Good chapter as always, keep it up.

Chapter 95, wow, what a terrific chapter! I love how you give us a feel for how Shikamaru thinks, and that we can only get that close because he is so tired. Itachi is the perfect foil for him, understanding exactly what is needed. The trio of Haru, Ran and Kazuki are incredible -- like Shikamaru, quite dangerous even at their age. I love how Ran uses his empathy to help his friend, and Haru's sudden realization that Kazuki is more important than his array. Ran and Kazuki sharing a touch of being feral is a great touch, understanding one another in a way that the others perhaps can't. Like Shika, Haru is so caught up in his conception, he's can't see that using his friends, as very willing as they are, is an ethical problem -- but he is still a very young child and that is so understandable. Sasuke's, Shikamaru's, and Neji's exhaustion is also a useful learning experience. I love Ran's decision to check with Kakashi rather than Iruka, and Kakashi's reaction -- not to mention how close he came to catching the young trio who worked so beautifully together to avoid detection and set up the array. The ending, with Iruka first reassuring Sasuke with Kakashi's admission, and then the "concert" allowing Sasuke to laugh was wonderfully theraputic and a perfect ending to the chapter.

Finally back, and attempting to review each wonderful chapter. I love how beautifully you show Inari's response to the tragedy. Grieving, but competent. All so human with his musing over his relationship -- thoughts rarely stay in complete focus on just one topic, even when as huge as the bombing. Both have matured wonderfully. I stood up and cheered the introduction of the ninken and their choice of Kakashi as a hero. I hope we might see them again at some point, although meeting their hero in person might be sad as they find all heros have feet of clay -- then again, canines have a rather different take on loyalty. The effect of Uchiha, with tales, songs and interest spread so far, might mean that contrary to Inari's belief, Centre has or will become interested in what is happening as well. Fascinating yet again to see the layers of Shikamaru at work.

Ah, best laid plans, even of incredibly smart (can't say genius with Shikamaru as part of the crew) well trained and organized Sasuke, rarely go fully according to plan. That adaptations and improvements are done through the remainder of the crew is just one of the reasons I love this story so much. Tears came to my eyes as the children committed to caring for Sasuke while waiting for Naruto to heal. I love Haru's mental dialog. His scheming, however is dangerous. His making sure that Ran was unpodded was dangerous (as it creates a misperception that the pods might not be safe) and callous, without regard for Ran's welfare or indirectly the concern and stress this might cause Iruka and Kakashi. I suspect Haru might come to regret his actions when he realizes the effect his schemes have on others. It was wonderful hearing from Iruka's perspective. A bit painful that after all this time with Kakashi, he still doesn't expect that Kakashi would spend the time to personally care for him. It is a matter of priorities, of course, and understandable from that perspective. That Kakashi needs to express it in seemingly selfish terms, and Iruka's response is a moving moment. With Iruka back, and the children being irrepressibly themselves in unexpected as well as expected ways, we can feel the extended Uchiha family beginning to stablize again. Beautiful chapter.

As always, this was a great chapter. The way you convey Iruka's recuperation and Ran's growth give great insight not only to the characters but the others as well. I am so thrilled about these insightful chapters. But I am so selfish, I would love a chapter on Tatsuji and his insight of where he is and about Zetsu. He is such a quiet character but I'm just so curious.

Thanks for another wonderful character.

Awesome! Iruka can walk again- maybe not well or very far yet, but he is (pardon the pun) standing on his own two feet again. I am also thrilled with the progress that Ran has been making. It is nice that he trusts Iruka and Kakashi well enough to just be comfortable around them and that he is starting to consider uses for his abilities instead of just hiding from everyone because of them. And Shika is absolutly right! Kakashi should be the measurement for all that is sexy!

While I love the story when it moves forward, and issues are resolved, I also love these types of chapters that give us those very realistic glimpses into the daily lives of some of the characters. Thanks for all you do with this story.
