Woah. Shino was a lot nicer about that than Naruto actually deserved. Of course I'm on Naruto's side in thinking he deserves better than Kiba, but as far as Naruto knew, he was the homewrecker in the Shino/Kiba relationship. Naruto really came across like a jerk when he was trying to avoid Shino. And after everything that happened in the hospital with Shikamaru and Kiba, Naruto was STILL trying to protect his affair! Sadly, I think that conversation with Shino was finally Naruto's wake up call. Now that Naruto knows things are finally off with Kiba, maybe Gaara can finally convince Naruto of what *everyone* else has told him--that Naruto deserves better. (And quite frankly, so does Shino.)

As for Sasuke, Naruto was a total douche to him, but he's being foolish to rush the decision to join ANBU. Does he really believe that Naruto wouldn't have eventually cooled off and been sorry for the things he said and the way he treated Sasuke? Naruto would have eventually seen the light about Kiba. Why didn't Sasuke want to wait for that? I think you were probably kidding about the Neji thing at the end of the chapter? Buuut, in case you weren't, I think it's probably much better if these two find a way to work things out themselves without the interference of a third party. You can't always have someone else helping you to solve your relationship problems, eventually you've got to figure things out on your own, and at this point, Naruto and Sasuke BOTH need to realize that their friendship is worth fighting for, and not walking away from. :(

I am really hoping that Gaara gets naruto to see the light and tells him what sasuke is planing to do. Naruto being weak like this is making him lose out on something that could really be good for him. Its just a little annoying that that he would want to cling so hard to somebody that hurts him in sooo many ways when sasuke, the person that he went to hell and back for was right there telling him that he would be with him. that just didnt make sense.

I wasn't expecting the mother/son stuff with Tsunade & Kiba's mom--it was nice. It helped flesh out Kiba's character a bit, which is good since that makes him more than just "the villain" of the story.

Argh. Sasuke wanting to do something else for a while since he's been rejected is perfectly acceptable, and even reasonable under the circumstances--it would be awkward to go on missions and train with Naruto right now. However, Sasuke wanting to PERMANENTLY change his life over it is very much not reasonable. It's not just Naruto he's giving up on, it's everyone else in his life that's important to him too! I surely hope this is something he's wanted to do for a long time, but was being held back from taking this step because of Naruto. Otherwise, he's just making himself far more miserable than he ought to be. :(((( Shikamaru? Sakura? Kakashi? Someone talk him out of this!

Great Chapters!! I am just on the edge of my seat waiting for the next part like i said before I've got this foreboding feeling... its like watching a line of fire heading toward a powder keg... *sighs*

The proper term is ANBU.
But I was excited to see the update! The Sasu/Shika friendship makes a lot of sense. I could totally see them; then add Shino and Neji to the mix and its the perfect group of intelligent(on another level) individuals.
But the plot is becoming more and more intricate, and is moving in a fashion that is very unpredictable. I am so happy that its new and fresh. Thank you and I am sooooo looking forward to more and soon. X)

Really glad Shikamaru and Sakura have gotten involved now. In real life, trying to get a friend out of an abusive relationship would be too much for just one person to handle. Not to mention, because of his feelings, Naruto may see Sasuke as having ulterior motives and be less willing to listen to what he has to say? Plus, I think it was good that Shikamaru yelled at Naruto; he needed that. Sakura will also provide a different response to the situation than either Sasuke or Shikamaru, so that's good too--the more perspectives Naruto gets on why his relationship is unhealthy, the better. Naruto is stubborn, so he needs a lot to be convinced of something.

I don't mind the way Kiba was injured. Being scarred is something for him to be bitter over, but it doesn't necessarily play on Naruto's feelings of guilt or pity like if he'd lost a limb or something. In a case like that, it's be impossible to convince Naruto to leave Kiba, so this is good because it's still the same problem as the beginning of the fic--convincing Naruto his relationship is unhealthy--without adding a massive new problem into the mix (like giving Naruto a guilt complex would).

So Sasuke wants to enter ANBU. :( Well, I can't blame him. This is Sasuke, a guy who walks away from things he doesn't like. How can he continue being Naruto's teammate when he's been rejected, and when he can't stand seeing Naruto being abused and can't do anything about it (especially now that he's been rejected)? Unfortunately, the ball is in Naruto's court now--never mind losing Sasuke as a potential lover, is he really willing to lose Sasuke as a teammate and friend over Kiba?

(BTW, are we going to see any Sasuke + Shikamaru? I think it's pretty cool that they're close enough friends that Sasuke could go to him and tell him he got rejected and ask him to go to the hospital in his place!)

ok seriously when I read Shikamaru say "Sasuke sent me" I sat up and OUT LOUD SAID. "SHIT!" LOL Shikamaru is my favoriter Naruto buddy!! In canon and out. Sasuke needs a good smack up the back side of the head... AMBU!? WTF. I'm having a hard time buying Kiba's sudden release of Naruto. I just don't know if I can buy him letting Naruto go that easily. Especialy if he thinks Naruto fooled around with Sasuke while he was gone. I mean if he heard the part about Sasuke admitting his feeling then he would have heard that Naruto turned him down. I don't know I just have this feeling of foreboding... I keep expecting to open the next chapter to dark uglyness... you're building my suspence and its driving me crazy!! I'm loving it!

Good for you, Sasuke. Not only did he manage to talk sense to Naruto in a rational, non-confrontational way, but he admitted his feelings. No matter how Naruto responds, it's something for him to be proud of. Of course all of us want Naruto to forget about Kiba, especially now that things have been going so well between Naruto and Sasuke, but I can't help but feel Naruto isn't the sort to cheat on even a bastard boyfriend (and he does, unfortunately, seem to like Kiba), so I'm guessing his response to Sasuke won't be 100% positive. And then there's Kiba's little accident! That will certainly throw a wrench in Sasuke's attempts to woo Naruto. It's nice that Kiba does, in fact, feel desire for Naruto (versus just seeing him as a convenient outlet for his aggression), but I have to agree with the reviewer who said that putting your teammates at risk because of your own lust is uncool. I wouldn't approve if it was Naruto or Sasuke, and I certainly don't approve of the story's villain doing it. If Kiba does end up badly injured over it (or worse), it'd be his own fault, and no less than what he deserves. Can't wait to see what happens next. :D

oh crapwhy do I sense a VERY bad home coming from Kiba? He'd been distracted with thoughts of Naruto when he was hurt and Naruto is sure to smell like Sasuke... worse he's probably going to find the blond not home but in Sasuke's house. *face palm* I love this story.

Why is Kiba dating Shino too? I enjoyed reading how Sasuke is taking care of Naruto... hoprfully he'll see someone will care about him without being violent. Can't wait for the next chapter ;-)
