(Logging in is irritating on this site. :P)

I realized that I'd forgotten to leave a review for this chapter after seeing the Audi Superbowl commercial. ^_^;

Anyway, you really tricked me last chapter! Makes sense Naruto would have unknowingly tranced Neji. Naruto is a newborn and has all sorts of uncontrollable powers on top of his vampire self-defense mechanisms. I really, really liked the scene between Naruto and Kakashi. They legitimately felt like old friends who cared about each other, and I think that conversation was exactly what Naruto needed to find closure on Iruka and begin healing. It makes a difference talking to someone like Kakshi who understands exactly what Naruto is going through and shares his strong feelings for Iruka. (And it's interesting that Kakashi was also turned against his will. So Itachi's mistake with Naruto probably wasn't a totally rare occurrence. Which is to be expected since these vampires have human emotions and probably make plenty of mistakes/do bad things same as we do.)

I agree with Sasuke that Naruto feels like he is maturing. He still has his occasional bratty moments with Sasuke (LOL, like demanding Sasuke yell at him), but definitely, the Naruto we see now has grown from the guy we met in the first couple of chapters. He's still learning, and has more things to learn, but I think he has gained a little perspective on his situation, and on life in general. And I thought it was very sweet that Sasuke would be surprised at hearing people thought Naruto was undesirable. I'm glad Sasuke appreciates him. ^_^ (But in real life, the crazy uncle thing probably would have made me a little nervous, too. If you're American, then I'm thinking of Josh and Steven Powell--though they are father and son--when I say that. So I guess I find Naruto's unpopularity unfair, but probably true to life.)

For some reason, I found Naruto's confession to Madara to be really, really sweet. I think it was his hesitance in saying it, and because it was his first time admitting it out loud, and also because he admitted it to the guy who is pretty much the head of the family. (You don't go say something like that to relatives, especially important relatives, unless your feelings are sincere.) It's interesting that Naruto has a very distant connection to the family. In an unexpected way, he's finally found himself some relatives.

Yay for the ball! Sounds like it will be a lot of fun with the masks and *authentic* period clothing. (I'm jealous.) I'll look forward to reading about it in future chapters. :) And hurrah for unconscious hand-holding! So cute. ^_____^

poor iruka. Damn, i wish there was a way to give him closure of Kikeshi. Naru's adapting though, and that's a good thing. It's a pity he can't be in contact with his living friends but hopefully they have enough support netwok to be going on with.

Wow, super dramatic chapter! I like hearing about the different things Naruto is learning as a vampire. (The trancing thing is neat.) It was *such* an over-confident, stupid Naruto thing to do for him to go off on his own to hunt. But what was even MORE of a stupid, over-confident thing for him to do was to decide to deal with the hunters on his own. He should have ran and then gone and told Sasuke the truth. Leaving wouldn't have been as much of a problem as killing two humans! (Well, his vampire instincts sure weren't helping him make good decisions there.) I wonder if Naruto will get into trouble for it, or if the Vampire Elders won't mind so much since it was vampire hunters who chose to attack him first. (And Sasuke took care of the problem by wiping their memories.) I really like the way you described all the vampire scenes with Naruto running through the forest and then going into a rage against those hunters. Very nice visuals.

My only criticism for the chapter is firstly, I was a little confused by Neji's reaction when he saw Naruto. I know Naruto is his friend and he missed him (he might have even loved him?), but he was so nonchalant during their conversation. I'd have expected him to have some kind of reaction to seeing two of his comrades dead and dismembered on the ground. (And would he have wanted to get romantic with Naruto while his other two colleagues were cowering nearby?) Secondly, and this is just personal preference here, but I kinda wish Naruto and Iruka hadn't been reunited. Only because Iruka as a symbol of what Naruto lost by being turned into a vampire was working really well for the story. If Naruto has Iruka, then him being a vampire isn't such a bad deal after all. Plus, Naruto being sad about Iruka added to his depth as a character and you were writing that part of the story really well.

As always, I will be looking forward to the next chapter. :)

Er, in looking at it, I don't think my first few sentences were clear. I was TRYING to say that Naruto's behavior in the chapter was pretty typical (in character) for him. Naruto wouldn't be Naruto if he didn't try and take on more than he could probably handle!
