I'm usually not keen on death fics but, wow, this was really excellent. I think the emotions and reactions read true and not OOC for any of the characters. I can see Sasuke, after all he went through, wanting his death to be his choice. This is the same kid that willingly chose to give himself over to Orachimaru.
I also see that Sakura would be the pragmatic one. She would see the bigger picture of how Sasuke's return to Konoha would end. Sakura had always proclaimed that Team 7 was responsible for Sasuke, whether it be to find him and bring him back or take him down. So I can believe she would see this as her responsibility as his teammate and an act of kindness as his friend.
Once again, thank you for a great story. I also look forward to the next chapter of Disguised Curses^^.

Heh.. I'd rather Sasuke kill them all off and destroy Konoha but :) There are some lines I'd like to comment if you don't mind:
"..he knew it was the end. He could feel it, and was willing to welcome it" - actually, in manga Sasuke quite firmly stated that he wasn't going to die, in a battle with Naruto or else. Here you made him look like a doomed loner welcoming death.
I liked this one - Naruto's: “But, I don't understand. We kept wanting you back; I promised Sakura that I'd bring you home again.”
Who cares? Who has ever cared of reasons? As if Naruto ever needed any pretext. Sounds just like Naruto - just as stupid at the moment. Sasuke's death really doesn't fit in his.. long-term plans :)
Sakura's very pragmatic here, calculating: "She knew the kind of fate that would be reserved for him. Even if he did just help wipe out Konoha's worst two threats". - As if sasuke killed all that peple for konoha's sake and wellbeing to earn some 'forgiveness points". I think it would be beneath Sasuke to negotiate or bargain with his clan's murderers over forgiveness.
I don't know if this kind of death merciful or not, at least it was on the battle field and of a wound. Yes, a quick death.
What I liked the most: Naruto didn't manage to defeat Sasuke or lay his hands on him. Sasuke's death was his own choice, and he died free, unlike his ex-groupmates who will have to obey the hypocritical Council, the daimyo etc to the end of their days, Naruto included. So, Sasuke won :)
Thank you.
