Chapter 1: Heaven
*****************

“Sa~suke, you promised me you’d buy that necklace I wanted for my birthday,” pouted the beautiful woman who was making
herself comfortable on the said man’s lap. She twisted his silk tie playfully with her delicate fingers, her newly painted nails gleamed sheer pink that matched her vivid pink coloured hair.

Uchiha Sasuke looked at the stunning woman before him. For some unknown reason He couldn’t even find anything pleasing about the woman even though she was beautiful. His eyes trailed from the pink curls pulled up in a tight bun, showing her delicate neck and her long, strapless black dress glittered under the dim light of his bedroom, showing every inch of her curves to perfection.

“I doubt you’re here tonight just to discuss about me buying some puny necklace for you, Sakura,” said the stoic man, dryly. He was about to undo his tie and shrugged out of his clothes into a less formal one when Sakura decided to make herself comfortable inside his bedroom. He should have locked the door whenever Sakura was around since the pink haired woman was becoming more aggressive with her playful way.

“Is it wrong for me to want to see my dearest fiancé, hmm, Sasuke?” said Sakura seductively pulling his tie to bring his head lower so that their noses almost touched.

Sasuke did not know why he would let Sakura into his apartment in the first place. Even though they had known each other for a long time, Sasuke did not like Sakura much since she always clung to him like some parasite whenever he was around. It was bad enough with having your mailbox abused by rabid fan girls every single day, now Sakura insisted that he was her Prince Charming from the Kingdom of Happy Ever After.

Sasuke pushed the pink haired woman abruptly off his lap, much to the surprise of Sakura. He needed to make this clear to her before things get out of hands.

“We were engaged because of a verbal contract made by our grandfathers, Sakura. A verbal contract is not even valid in the
eye of laws as I’m sure you know. You and I have no relationship what so ever, so stop making a fool of yourself,” said Sasuke coldly. He stood up and walked towards the bedroom window, finding the view of Konoha City in the night far more interesting than Sakura.

“But I love you, Sasuke! I’ve always loved you since we were little. Can’t you see that?!” Sakura pleaded, her eyes glistering to the tall, raven haired man.

“I have no feelings towards you, Sakura. Just give up and find someone else,” he had said this countless of times before and was getting tired of saying the same thing over again. Sasuke’s usual calm face was starting to show signs of irritation towards the pink haired woman who followed him to the living room.

“No! That’s not true! You’re lying!” She flung herself at Sasuke, her arms around his neck, forcing him to receive her kiss.

Sasuke pried her fingers off his neck and pushed her away. “Sakura, when are you going to get this through your thick head?
I don’t love you! Now get out!” He pulled open the main door, watching Sakura breaking into hysterical sobs.

“How can you be so cruel!?” asked Sakura, tears running down her face, messing up her mascara and powdered cheeks.

“Oh, did you just notice that I’m cruel?” he said in a cold tone. “I’m always like this, Sakura, so grow up!,”

“You know, you’re not capable of being in love or loving anyone,” cried Sakura.

“I have no interest in such a thing in the first place, Sakura. Emotions are unnecessary. Love or any other emotions will only make you weak. Now, good night!” He gestured for her to leaveSakura quickly picked up her white fur coat and stopped near the door.

“No. You will fall in love, alright. And when that happens, I hope she’ll make you suffer like hell!” yelled the pink haired woman before running out of the room crying out loud.

Sasuke banged the door shut, deafening Sakura’s wailing outside.

“Che. There’s no way in hell I’m going to fall for any woman!” said Sasuke vehemently, yanking his tie off and unbuttoning his white shirt. He had no interest in someone as weak and frail as Sakura. Being a monk sounded much more tempting than getting hitched with some wimpy woman in the first place.

*****

“What the hell happened out there, Kakashi?” asked Sasuke coolly to his chauffeur as the car slowed down to a stop. After kicking Sakura out of his apartment a few hours ago, the raven haired man decided to go to his office to review the latest stack of reports on his desk.

“There seemed to be a road block up ahead, Sasuke-sama,” replied the silver haired man calmly. “It’s blocking our normal route. Do you want to take the other way?" he asked, looking up at Sasuke from the rear mirror. Sasuke’s onyx eyes met one of Kakashi's visible one. Sasuke had never before seen the other eye since the man always wore a black patch over it.

The raven haired man remembered that when he was a kid, Kakashi used to jokingly point out that he had a bad eye and
would crack into one of his stupid grin, saying that wearing the eye patch made him look cool like some dashing pirate, although Sasuke never really did saw him grinning because he would always wore his black trench coat with high collar that covered right up to his nose, hiding his mouth.

For as long as Sasuke could remember, Hatake Kakashi had always been in the service of his family. To this day the man
was still such an enigma to him. Not much was known about Kakashi, except that he was an excellent driver, an expert in martial arts, and had a strange way of make others do what he wanted. Sometimes, Sasuke had a feeling that Kakashi was only following his orders just to amuse himself.

“Do as you please. I just want out of here,” replied Sasuke in a bored tone.

“Well, we could take a short cut from here but it’ll be through a shadier part of the city.”

Sasuke gave a snort. “I don’t care, Kakashi-san, what road you take, as long as we get there, understood?” He gave the silver haired man his irritated look that countless times scared his other servants and subordinates away.

“You sure?” said Kakashi, slightly amuse, apparently immune to the look Sasuke was giving him.

Sasuke let out an exasperated huff. “Oh, for God's sake, get this car moving, man! Now!” shouted Sasuke, crossing his arms
to glare out the window. He could have sworn Kakashi’s shoulder was shaking with laughter.

His secretary, Kabuto had advised him to fire Kakashi countless times and get a new driver instead. One that at least would listen to his orders. He might just do that since Kabuto’s idea sounded reasonable. Finding a new driver might be easy. However, finding someone you could trust your life with was entirely a different issue.

Sasuke knew that deep inside, there were not many people whom he could trust, even his own dear brother. However, with Kakashi, he could. And that was why Sasuke could put up with the man’s attitude no matter how annoying the man could get. Sasuke knew that he could trust Kakashi even with his own life.

*****

A blonde man leaned against the brick wall of a worn looking building, his hands in the pockets of his faded blue jeans. Around him were dozens and dozens of women in fancy clothes, short skirts, leather shorts, and other tight fitting clothes.

Whenever a car slowed down or stopped by some of the women would eagerly walk forward seductively, leaned down to talk at the drivers inside, through the open windows, exchanging a few words before the drivers beckoned the women to get inside
and drove off.

“Hey there, honey,” a dark, long haired woman in black lolita dress winked at the blonde man, startling him from his
observations. Pretty, he thought.

“Looking for a good time?” She pressed her slim body against his side and ran a red coloured finger down his chest.

“Er…w~what?” asked the blonde, a little confused at what the woman was saying. He was trying not to focus on the sweet smelling perfume invading his nostrils. Lavender.

“You look like my type, sweetie,” smiled the woman invitingly, “What’s your name, huh?”

“What? Oh…um…it’s Naruto. Uzumaki Naruto,” replied the blonde nervously looking at the woman who was slightly taller than him.

“Alright, Naruto-kun. I’m Haku.” She leaned forward and whispered in his ear, “My room’s up the building, wanna go?”

A deep blush quickly crept over Naruto’s face up to his ears. “Up?” He swallowed visibly. “I..I mean…no thanks…I’m waiting for my friend to pick me up,”

“Really? Hmm…that’s just too bad." She kissed Naruto on the cheek, a feather lite kiss. “I was just gonna give you a discount, you know, Naruto-kun.” And she waved her hand before joining others along the pavement side.

Phew! That was close, thought the blonde. Dammit, where the hell is this place? He tried to call his friend from his cell phone, but all he got was the same dreaded voice saying he was out of coverage area.

Naruto took out a folded piece of paper from his black denim jacket and tried to make sense of the scribble on the paper which supposedly showed some sort of directions. He tried turning the paper round but still it made no sense.

Damn Kiba. Here he was in the middle of some unknown red district, surrounded by women selling their wares. Hey! Is that a man or a woman?

Naruto stared at another tall beautiful woman near him in tight leather jacket and matching mini skirt, her white panties almost showing. The blonde strained his eyes to really look at the woman. Legs, long, shapely, nice. Ass, okay. Boobs, too large. Silicon maybe? Face, pretty but then again maybe plastic surgery had something to do with it? Wait a minute. Is that an Adam’s apple bobbing up and down her throat? Her?

‘He’s a she! I mean the woman’s a man!?’ Naruto stared at the woman, his eyes as wide as a saucer.

“What you looking at, brat?” asked the woman in a rather masculine voice, scowling at Naruto.

Naruto looked the other way, sweat dropping down his cheek. Alright. Confirmed, male.

But when is Kiba going to be here!? The blonde mussed his already wild sun kissed hair and sat down on the ground, hugging his knees. He rested his chin on top of his knees and stared at the road, seeing a few cars passing by. Soon more cars stopped by near the old building and Naruto watched the few buyers and the sellers come to an agreement as the day got darker.

“I’m hungry.” Naruto’s stomach growled in agreement. “If I knew this was going to happened I would have taken lunch before agreeing to meet Kiba.”

He looked around for signs of any shops, restaurants, food stalls, but found none. Yup. This is an abandoned district alright. Even the God of Ramen had forsaken him here! There should at least be a ramen stall at every corner! He groaned. Thinking about ramen only made things worse as his stomach decided to have a drumming contest instead. He was broke and the last dollar he had was spent on the bus ticket that got him here.

Naruto glanced at his wrist watch. It was nearly 7.00 pm. He let out a loud sign wondering whether he would have to spend the night out here in the soon cold street with an empty stomach tonight.

****
“Hey, orphan!”

“Yeah you!”

“We hate you. Go away!”

“Yeah. My mommy said you’re bad!”

“Hit him, boys!”

“Don’t let him get away!”

“Hah, got him!”

“Hey! Hold him for me!”

“Heh…heh…how does that feel, brat?!”

“What are you doing, children? Get away from him!”

“Mommy. He’s bad right?”

“Yes. How many times have I told you not to play with him, huh?”

“Hehehehe…look at him…he looks like a stray mongrel…heheheh!”

*****

“Hey,” a soft voice woke the blonde up. He looked around, a bit dazed. He was having the same bad dream again. Always there were no faces, just voices. Children taunting and bullying him when he was small. Naruto could not remember it clearly, but he had a feeling that it was not pleasant either.

“Here,” said the voice and Naruto winced at the cold object pressed against his cheeks, instantly waking him up.

“Yikes! Cold!” he yelped and rubbed his cheek hoping to warm the cold skin.

“Haku-san,” he blinked before his blue eyes registered upon the pretty brunette crouching before him, smiling.

“Nope. Just plain Haku, Naruto-kun. I noticed you’re still here.” Haku threw the cold drink to Naruto. “Where’s your friend?”

“Don’t know. I think I got off at the wrong place,” said the blonde, opening the can and taking a sip. “Shit! What is this?” He winced and held up the can. “Green tea!”

Haku laughed and smiled. “You’re funny, you know that?”

“I’ve been called far worse before by others,” said the blonde, grinning. He kind of liked Haku. She was kind and gentle and had a sweet smile.

“How old are you?” Haku sat beside Naruto watching the night bustling with night time activities and people looking for fun and some fancy customers wanting to waste their money away.

“Hmm?… Twenty-three… why?” He swallowed the drink down, making dreadful faces once in a while.

“Well…I’m three years older than you. Too bad. I thought I had a chance back then.” She giggled at the slight blush on Naruto’s face. “Nah. Just joking,”

“Jeez, thanks, you’re breaking my heart, Haku.” They both laughed.

“Sorry if I seemed rude, but mind if I ask what you are doing here, at this place, Haku?” he asked.

The woman looked into those warm blue eyes and smiled, but Naruto could see a sadness that was similar to his, deep inside, behind that sweet smile of hers.

“Long story,” she shrugged, twisting the jade beads that wound around her delicate small wrist.

“I’ve got plenty of time, as you can see,” said the blonde comically.

“Do you have someone you love, Naruto-kun?” she asked seriously.

“Um… I dunno… Kiba’s my good friend since way back at school… I like the guy but…” He scratched his head a bit embarrassed. Can he say he loved the guy?

“No. Not love a friend type. Love someone. Like, really love that person, like he meant everything to you, your whole world, and you would do anything for him. Even die for him,” explained Haku, her face glowing.

Naruto watched her in silent awe then said softly, looking up at the stars above, “No. I guess I’ve never fell in love with someone like that, Haku.” He met Haku’s gaze and both smiled silently.

“Hey! Look! It’s a shooting star! Naruto-kun, look!” She stood on her feet, pulling Naruto quickly up.

The blonde followed the direction where she pointed in the dark sky.

“Yeah, I see it.”

“Quick! Make a wish!” said the woman, jumping ecstatically.

“Okay…okay…” Naruto watched Haku silently bowing head and closing her eyes. He followed suit, closing his eyes and held both of his palm closed together in a silent prayer.

“Done yet?” asked Haku, looking at Naruto.

“Yup! Done mine.” He grinned at the brunette.

“What did you wish?” she asked.

“That my friend would fetch me sooner,” he replied with a laugh.

“You didn’t wish that did you?” said the pretty woman, frowning.

“Nah. I wished I could have all the ramen in the world!” he declared, patting his stomach. “Then I won’t have to starve like now,”

“Seriously, Naruto-kun!” She gave Naruto an incredulous look.

“Okay. That was a joke,” he chuckled.

“So. What did you really wish then?”

Naruto just smiled instead of answering Haku, making her wonder what was on Naruto’s mind.

“Want to know what I really wished for, Haku? I wished that there was someone who would love me just as much as you love
your special person,” he said in a serious tone.

Haku smiled and squeezed his hand. “I’m sure you will Naruto.” She kissed him gently on his cheek, in a sisterly kind of way, causing him to smile.

“Wake me up, before you go go!” a singing voice came somewhere from Naruto’s pants, repeating over and over again the same line.

The blonde quickly fumbled about his pants pocket and dug out his cell phone, pressed the call button and yelling out loud,” Where the hell are you?!” He frowned, listening. “What?! Can’t hear you! The line's terrible!”

He walked to and fro down the pavement. “Where am I?! I’m at…at…” he looked questioningly at Haku who was watching him with interest.

“Heaven,” said Haku.

“I’m in Heaven!” he shouted on the phone but quickly looked confused at what he had just said. “What?!” he asked Haku
again.

“People call this place Heaven Avenue.”

Naruto mouthed an ‘Oh’ saying that he understood what she was saying, "Kiba! I’m at Heaven Avenue!” He frowned. “How did I get here?!…How should I know!? It’s your freaking fault, man!”

The blonde covered his other ear in order to hear clearly. “What!? You’ve sent someone to pick me up? Okay. What? Speak louder! Can’t hear! What does he look like? Black hair? Black car? Okay! Okay! What!? Hey! Kiba! Kiba! Damn!” He turned off his cell phone, his throat dry from all the shouting.

“Well? Is everything okay?” asked Haku with concern.

“Yeah…think so… hope so.” Naruto stuffed back the mobile in his pocket. “Someone will be here soon to pick me up, Haku,”

“Great!” she said happy at the news.

“Yeah.”

“So…I should get back to work then, Naruto-kun.” Haku looked a little sad. “I guess we won’t see each other anymore, huh?”

“Oh…I don't know…maybe we will…who knows, right?” the blonde said trying to cheer her up. “Like the old hag used to say; 'The world may be big, but it’s small at the same time.' Though I still can’t figure out what she meant by that evenn now,” he said grinning.

Haku smiled back. “She must be someone really wise,” Haku said, causing the blonde to snort at the statement.

“Yeah. I guess so. She bossed me around the orphanage back then since she’s the principle there.”

“I have to go now, Naruto-kun,” said Haku looking at the road.

“Hope we can meet again, Haku.” Naruto extended his hand to her.

She looked at his hand, a bright smile on her face. “Thank you, Naruto-kun.” She gave him a big hug instead before letting him go. “Tonight was fun. Chatting with you made me happy. Thank you.”

A Harley Davidson stopped nearby and the tall man behind the wheels gave a nod to Haku.

Naruto took in the leather pants and jacket over a white t-shirt, a typical biker’s attire.

“Your boyfriend?”

“Nah. I wish though. He saved me.” Before Naruto could ask more, Haku got on the bike behind the tall man, one arm wrapped around his waist, the other hand waving at the blonde.

“Bye! Naruto-kun!”

“Bye! See you, sis!” he grinned and waved back

“Hey! You should call me bro instead!” said Haku grinning back.

“WHAT?!”

“I’M A GUY, NARUTO-KUN! JA NE!” Haku laughed at the surprised look on Naruto’s face.

*****

A pair of dark onyx eyes peered through the window. The man’s eyebrows knitted in a frown. “Where the hell is this place?” The pavement was crawling with scantily clad women showing their stuff for passer-by's to see.

“I think it’s Heaven Avenue,” replied Kakashi. “Place for heaven on earth they say,” he chuckled.

“Hmph.” Sasuke looked at the lines of women disapprovingly. “Why are you slowing the car?” asked Sasuke, realizing that Kakashi had slowed down a bit.

“Want to have a good look, boss?” he asked, grinning at the women loitering near the street, encouraging some to come over.

“Damn it! This is not the time!” Sasuke glared at Kakashi through the rear mirror. "Step on it, now!" But Kakashi stopped the car instead.

“Look. A pretty gal’s waiting for you to open the window, Sasuke-sama,” said Kakashi, waving to the women from his half opened window, earning another glare from his fuming boss.

Sasuke turned his head away from the window near him. As if he would waste his time or money on some stupid, money-hungry women.

He scowled as he heard the person rapping against the window near him, wanting to get his attention. He refused even to
acknowledged the person by pretending he did not hear anything.

Somehow the person outside his car was equally stubborn as he was as the said person’s knuckles rapping on his window became more aggressive.

Sasuke’s temper was flaring up and when he felt himself about to explode into a fit of curses, he turned to glared at
the annoying person outside, while at the same time the said person had pressed her face against the tinted window to get a better look at the inside of the car.

The raven haired man’s eye twitch. “What the hell?” He gritted his teeth, barely making out a pair of pouty lips, small flat nose and strange shaped eyes, through his window.

‘God! What an ugly woman,’ thought Sasuke, but then realized that the woman was going to dirty his limo by leaving her ugly face print on his window.

“That’s it! I’ve had it!” He opened the door with abrupt force, hitting the woman hard on her face.

Sasuke stepped out, his handsome face masked with his most chilling gaze at the blonde female on the ground, her back to Sasuke, as she yelped “OUCH!” through her nostrils.

The raven haired let out a satisfied smirk. “Serves you right, stupid bitch! Look what you did to my car! You dirtied it!” Some of the women around him backed away, scared at the angry man throwing colourful curses to the blonde’s back.

“Pay up, you ugly wench! Before I…” Before Sasuke could realize what was happening, he was punched in the face by the blonde on the ground, sending him crashing against his black limo.

A pair of hands grabbed the front of his crisp white shirt, pulling his taller frame to the rather angry blonde’s face. A very pissed off blonde male, shorter than an average man and with a more slender frame like a woman.

“Why the hell did you do that?!” the fuming blonde yelled at his face.

Sasuke was distracted for a moment by those enchanting, stormy blue eyes before him, before he quickly regained his composure. He grabbed hold of the blonde’s wrists and glared at the smaller male. "You were dirtying my car, moron!” said Sasuke, hissing at the blonde.

“What?…dirty?…you fucking bastard! You almost broke my nose!” shouted the blonde.

“Well, someone stupid like you deserved that! Making idiotic faces through the window! Who would do that but someone obviously as stupid as you, moron!”

“Who’s a moron…you…you…uptight asshole!”

“You were probably the last in your class, dead last!”

“What!? Well, you’re a prick then!”

Sasuke glared daggers at the small, stubborn blonde with his unequalled big mouth.

He jerked the door open and pushed the surprised blonde inside his limo, got in and pulled it shut.

“Move it, Kakashi!” Sasuke ordered the silver haired man while trying to stop the blonde from squirming and hitting him at the same time “And keep driving…” He barely missed the blonde trying to elbow him in the jaw. “… until I tell you to stop.” Sasuke grabbed hold of the blonde’s hair, pushing him face down on the seat, while he pressing his body on top of the blonde to stopped him from moving.

“Yes, Sir!!” answered Kakashi with a grin before a wooden panel rose up, separating the driver and passenger seats at the back.

With the panel providing some privacy for Sasuke and the squirming blonde, the raven haired said coldly, “I’ll let you go if you pay me a hundred dollars.”

“What?! Hey! That’s too much for some car wash, freaking leech!”

“How much can you pay, dead last?” said the raven haired as he leaned down, near the blonde’s ear and gave a smirk when he saw the smaller man’s ear turning red. “What? Nothing? No money?”

Somewhat fuelled by the taunting voice of the dark haired man, Naruto clenched his teeth and banged his head at the taller man.

Sasuke let out a curse, “Fuck!” and rubbed his aching head, “You, little moron!” Ticked off by the smug look the blonde was giving him, he pushed the blonde down, crushing the smaller man with his body.

Naruto desperately tried to clobber the man on the head again, but felt his hands pinned on top of his head, while the taller man was grinning in triumph above him.“Enough,” he said in a dangerously low tone, bringing his face near the blonde. “If you can’t pay with money, then I’ll take you’re body instead, dobe!” And he crushed his lips against the surprised Naruto.
