Tomorrow is Your Forever
Hey everybody! Thank you so much for following my lengthy drawn out works. This is the sequel to Unfinished Business. Expect lots of humor in the chapters to come. And what one of my stories is complete without a lemon or two…or more? Enjoy!
I don’t own Naruto nor do I profit from my fics.
“Okay, but I’m only doing this because I love you.” Anko was skeptical already.
“Come on baby, you need this.” Kakashi told her.
“Nobody needs an engagement ring, they are expensive, they get dirty and usually it’s a way to get your woman to shut the hell up about marriage talk constantly. Maybe we should just go with some girl on girl porn, some cheddar bacon potato wedges, a six pack and call it a day.” Anko always knew exactly what to say. Kakashi couldn’t help but laugh at this.
“The jeweler is nice enough to meet with us after hours, humor him and me by at least looking at them.” Kakashi told her. For Anko trying on engagement rings was like slipping on a pair of high heels and tying a big purple bow in her violet hair and those were two things she wasn’t a fan of. But, nonetheless Anko and Kakashi arrived at the jewelers on that cold early December evening.
The jeweler’s store was warm and comfortable compared. He was expecting them and so Kakashi and Anko were greeted right away. “Nice to see you! Please come with me. I must say it’s unusual to select an engagement ring after the proposal, but I’m pleased to show you everything I have.” The jeweler said. Kakashi put his hand on Anko’s back and pushed her along.
“Okay, let’s clear some things up. We’re not all that conventional, so don’t be telling me things like what a beautiful bride I’m going to make and all that crap. Also, I’m not a bitch like a lot of ‘brides to be’ so don’t’ go out of your way to accommodate me. Finally, don’t call me a bride, brides are…well they’re nice and innocent…I’m not.” Anko said. Kakashi quickly covered her ears.
“Call her a bride, watch her get pissed off.” Kakashi told the jeweler. The jeweler had never had this type of introduction before and he had to admit that he was highly amused.
“Oh and I’m Mitarashi Anko, it’s nice to meet you. This is my fiancée Hatake Kakashi.” Anko said introducing both of them.
“The pleasure is mine.” The jeweler said. “Okay let us begin, this is my case of engagement rings, I can pull every one of them out if you like.” He told them.
“Ugh! God, they’re all so girly!” Anko said out loud. Kakashi laughed again, it was obvious Anko had never worn a piece of jewelry in her life.
“Anko, the last time I looked between you legs…” Anko cut Kakashi off.
“Oh, I know I know, I know! You know what I mean!” Anko insisted.
“Let her see the one with the dark blue stone.” Kakashi told the jeweler. It was a silver band with a deep blue stone.” Anko looked at it suspiciously. “Baby, just put it on…it won’t bite.” Anko narrowed her eyes and reluctantly gave the jeweler her hand to size her finger. She was a 4 ½ she had skinny delicate fingers. The jeweler shoved the blue stone onto Anko’s hand because she could protest. She looked at the stone carefully; it was strange having this gaudy thing adorn her finger.
“No, get it off.” Anko said without hesitation. So much for that.
“Give her the gold band with the pearl.” Kakashi once again told the jeweler.
“No, don’t give me the pearl. Pearls are delicate…and I’m not delicate.” Anko quickly interjected.
“How about the amethyst? This is a very popular ring for new bri…I mean…engagements.” the jeweler asked.
“Oh god! No! Too sparkly! I’m not into sparkles.” Anko stated.
“Have you entertained the thought of a diamond in a platinum setting?”
“NO!” Anko said very emphatically. There was no way in hell a ninja was going to walk around with an overly expensive rock on her finger. Kakashi had spotted the ring he knew Anko would wear, the one that suited her quite well, the one he knew she wouldn’t resist.
“Show her the onyx and emerald ring.” Kakashi knew he had gotten it right.
“This is in a platinum band not silver.” The jeweler said.
“Well, platinum’s too expensive we’re not interested in pla…..” Kakashi put his hand over her mouth. Anko was still mumbling.
“Show it to her.” Kakashi interjected. Anko bit his hand hard. “Don’t’ worry it’s not the first time she’s bitten me.” Before Anko could protest platinum, the jeweler shoved it on her hand, but the ring was two sized too big. However, Anko had shut up. It didn’t sparkle, yet it beamed. It wasn’t girly, yet it made Anko a woman. Green like the leaves of Konoha, with two black onyx stones very smooth in texture, on either side of the emerald, all in a very silvery platinum band. Black like Anko’s past, black like Kakashi’s past, green to match the village were they finally found one another, set on the sheen of platinum, the silver lining that represented deliverance from the darker past and the hope of a future…it was perfect.
“Well, this one….isn’t bad…but it’s still too much to spend!” Anko was trying to resist.
“You like it, admit it! You like that one!” Kakashi said poking her. She was trying to fight it so hard.
“Okay fine! Fine! I like this one! It doesn’t glitter! It’s sophisticated!” She said. Kakashi squeezed her to pieces.
“I can have it for you in 2 weeks.” The jeweler said. “It needs to be cut down to fit you.”
“Okay, we’ll wait for it.” Kakashi seemed to be more excited than Anko was. Before they left to shop for this ring it was agreed that they were both sharing the cost. Anko would have puked if Kakashi would have paid for it in full…
