They're Not Gonna Get Us

His breath was shallow and slight. It had always been when he knew that they were close. Close to him, close to finally capturing him. 'Dammit.. Why...' His mind flashed back to Orochimaru. It always did that whenever he thought why. He scolded himself, and tried to lay quiet and still, not wanting to get himself taken away this time.

Yet he knew that the charges were much more than just being with Orochimaru. It was for murder as well. Murder of one of their own. They tried to stop him and he became frantic, wanting to get out of there, and killed him in the process. He had to always live on the run now, else he would be caught and executed.

'Just like Sakura said...' He said to himself as he sighed, his clothes hadn't been washed in almost a month now, and his hair looked even more ragged. His eyes had dark circles below them from the lack of sleep, and it could have been assumed that he was a zombie by the way he looked with scars all over his body along with the blood. The blood. That was what had started his sleepless nights. He couldn't even take that one-hour rest bit anymore, as the nightmares returned. Of his family being slaughtered by his brother, and how he couldn't stop him. And of thoughts of what might have happened to Naruto when he came to search for him.

"Naruto..." His eyes had closed a bit before, but they became a bit wider now. He had to get away from here, and find the one that was searching for him. "Foolish boy, I told you to never come... But I had..." A lone tear splashed away as he disappeared from behind the tree, letting the ANBU that had found him this time stop their search. "...I had lied."

Trees flew by him, left and right. Yet he couldn't see them. The only image that he could see was of Naruto. He knew that Naruto cared for him a lot, to even try to find and bring him back, but now... Now he'd have to find Naruto. Find him and bring him back to Konoha Village, and tell him to never look for him again.

The sun shined through the blonde locks in a young man's face, waking him from his slumber. He had found a place outside of a cave to rest for a while, yet he still hadn't found the one he wanted to find. "Where are you?" His eyes started to adjust to the bright light about him, as he saw two ANBU soldiers disappearing in another direction. He could hear their conversation, though he didn't mean to.

"Seems the target has gotten away from that part. What shall we do?"

"Wait until he tries to steal food again and then trap him."

The blonde's eyes shot wide open at the two men's words. 'Sasuke...? Quickly getting to his feet, he started to run towards the place where the ANBU just came from, though being just as stealthy as Sasuke had taught him before he left. Reaching where he believed the spot was, he looked around, checking for any signs of the one he searched for. His eyes darted to a small twig on the ground, where a small tattered piece of clothing was attached. "It must be him." He whispered to himself as he picked up the piece and put it in one of his pockets.

Nowadays, he left that orange jacket whenever he went on missions, trying to at least blend in with the top part of his body. Yet, he would never change those orange jeans, saying that they were his trademark. Both of the other members of his group laughed a bit at what he had said then. Fixing his head band, he smirked. "I will find you!" He muttered as he started to bolt in the direction that the twig was pulled towards.

His stomach started to grumble, as he stopped on a tree branch. Looking down, he remembered that the last time he ate was three days ago. "Foolishness." He started to sniff the air around him trying to get an aroma of food. Some bread was being made within a few hundred yards, and he knew that he could make it there and back without the ANBU finding him.

What he didn't know was that the ANBU were setting him up this time. Trapping him within their boundaries so that they could finally capture the elusive wanted ninja. As Sasuke's feet hit the last branch near the house, a thin wire trapped his foot, making him dangle in the air upside down. He twitched as he looked at the mask-wearing officer.

"Finally caught you, Sasuke Uchiha..." Sasuke started to move his hands into seals, before the man in the mask chuckled. Moving his hands at quick speed, he wrapped the cord around Sasuke's hands in a seal, making them useless to him. Sasuke grumbled a bit as he looked at this predicament. He continued to struggle against his bindings, wanting to be free again.

The blonde one was right behind Sasuke, as he jumped up and over the trip wire. "SASUKE!" He screamed as he landed on his feet and spun around. Seeing the ANBU mask made the blonde angry, as he charged at him, and slammed a fist into his face. The ANBU man tried to retaliate but before he could, the area around him was surrounded by Shadow Clones.

Sasuke stared down at the blonde, wincing in pain as a wire shot around his neck. "Naruto..." He whispered, as he blacked out, the feeling of air being pushed out of him being too much for the black-haired one to endure.

Naruto looked up at Sasuke's limp body, and a second ANBU mad there. He growled as he took out his kunai and started to toss them at the man. "I WILL SAVE SASUKE!"

"As per order of the ANBU, Sasuke Uchiha is under arrest for treason and murder." The man in the tree said as he tightened the string around Sasuke's neck. "There for, he must be executed!"

Naruto jumped up at the man, and swung kick at him, hitting the hand that was holding the string and freeing it a bit. "No one will hurt Sasuke." He said in his raspy voice. His speed became quicker with more and more anger flowing through him. Naruto knew it was but a matter of time before the Kyuubi decided it was time to execute these ANBU members. His body flew over to the next part of the web that entangled Sasuke, and cut it with grace, before he looked over at the man he had punched in the hand. “You want to deal with that?”

The masked man was already in the mix with his hands twirling about. Though before he could even finish his jutsu, Naruto’s chuckles became darker and darker as his Kyuubi decided to finally break through. He attacked the man in the trees, bringing him down to the ground, as he started to tear into the mans neck. The ANBU officer screamed in terror as his body was being mauled. It was as if a demon took over the blonde’s body and made him yearn for death, and for blood.

As he watched, the first masked officer started to run away from the duo, afraid of what might happen to him if he was caught. Naruto’s body started to turn towards the hanging Sasuke, before he changed back to normal. “Sasuke…” He muttered as he jumped up and brought Sasuke down. Yet as he did so, he got a look of what he had done to the other ANBU officer. The man’s body was strew about, innards leaking outward , while his face was contorted in fear of death, pleading with Naruto to let him live. Naruto looked downward as he walked with Sasuke into the forest, but not before picking up the food from which the trap was sprung.

“I’m sorry Sasuke… I’ve become like you.. Just like you never wanted me to be.” Naruto whispered to Sasuke as he carried him into the forest, knowing all to well that there would be more and more ANBU after them now, since he had just killed one of them as well. Yet, even as glum as the blond was, he could chuckle a bit. Chuckle at the fact that now he was on the run with Sasuke.
