After Mission Shock
After Mission Shock
“Ah, home sweet home.” A man in a cape laughs evilly. “Come, woman, its time to visit my old family homestead.” The woman nods her blue head. “Sir, so will I get to use my newest Jitzu?” The man nods. “Yes, it will come in handy soon than later.”
Both jump off into the night. ‘It’s been many a year and my death is spread around, seeing my brother leave on a mission not to long ago, its time to mess with his friends.’ He is off, with an evil grin.
A few weeks later
‘Coming home never felt so good,’ Kakashi’s inner self sighs, ‘After a month long solo mission.’ Nodding to himself, Kakashi thinks back over the mission and the many times he wish for the company of two very important people. A certain Knuckle-Headed, Hyperactive Ninja and ‘his’ Cherry Blossom, a soft smile comes to Kakashi’s face at the thought of the two.
Approaching the village from the East, coming upon the bridge where he first met most of the members to Team 7. Kakashi smiles, ‘Such good mem…’ as the sound of sobbing reaches his ears.
Slowing down before stepping onto the bridge senses on alert Kakashi starts across. Approaching the center of the bridge, Kakashi recognizes the chakra as familiar. Scanning the area, he feels it comes from above. Doing his ninja jumps he searches to find the source. Kakashi is shocked to see ‘HIS’ Cherry Blossom battered and bruised, her clothing ripped and torn. At her side are three of her friends, Ino, Hinata and Naruto.
Hearing someone land near then Naruto, goes into a defensive position, relaxing when he sees its Kakashi-Sensei.
“Kakashi-sensei, get Sakura-chan to talk, She hasn’t eaten or moved or anything for the last 3 days.” Naruto pleads.
Through broken sobs Sakura cries softly, “No. nothing…nothing is wrong.” Sakura, ‘Their’ Cherry Blossom, states.
“Something is wrong. She won’t leave this spot.” Ino says worriedly, as Hinata nods in agreement. “We found this note in her room.” Hinata speaks with her soft voice. Naruto shoves the note under Kakashi’s nose. “We fear for her life. However, we can’t get her to budge.”
Kakashi reads the note, ‘WTF,’ his inner voice screams, ‘has been going on, since I left?!?!!?!!’ Calmly his outer shell says. “Naruto, take the girls and pack Sakura’s clothing, bring them to my apartment. We will sort all this out there.” Kakashi speaks softly to the boy, as he moves closer to Sakura.
Sakura is standing near the edge, looking off into the distance not really seeing it. Kakashi makes his moves as Naruto and the other leave, grabbing Sakura by the waist to keep her from falling. However, as Kakashi’s arms tighten around Sakura, she starts fighting him. “NO! NO! I said NO!” Sakura screams fearfully as she swings wildly, almost taking them both over the edge.
“SAKURA, it’s me KAKASHI calm down.” Kakashi speaks calmly, but strongly. Sakura’s moves slow as the words enter her mind. “Kak…Kakashi-sensei?” Sakura says quietly, she slows down to a stop. “Leave me be, I am not worth saving.” Shocked at this news Kakashi pulls both of them back to a safer spot on the bridge.
“What do you mean ‘that you’re not worth saving’? Who would have told you that?” Kakashi questions calmly, though there is steel in his voice. “No one of importance, one who once was a friend…” Sakura whispers hanging her head, suddenly she starts to fall. Kakashi grabs her before she hits the ground, and is off like a shot to towards his apartment.
While wild thoughts run though his head. ‘Who would DARE insult ‘MY’ Cherry Blossom? Who would want to face Naruto’s wrath, or mine?’ Inner Kakashi questions himself as he arrives; the other three are already there.
“What’s wrong with Sakura-chan? Why is she passed out? Should we get a med-nin?” All three question at once. Kakashi enters his bedroom and lays Sakura down gently on the bed; just before he leaves he kisses her cheek. “Don’t worry, ‘my’ cherry blossom, I will be here from now on to protect you. I will find out who insulted you, and set Naruto and Pakkun on them.
As he exits, he suddenly remembers that he has to report immediately to the Hokage. Looking at the three worried friends, “Stay with Sakura, and don’t let her out of your sights. Someone insulted her, for some unknown reason, at this present time. However, when I return, we will find out who did this.” Kakashi says with a steely voice.
The others nod, and Hinata enters the bedroom. While Naruto stands near the door. “What do you mean someone insulted Sakura-chan? Who did it?” Naruto is pissed off. Ino sits on the couch, watching this with angry eyes. “I am not sure, but I will find out who did this. Also, when I return, you three will tell me what happened while I was gone.” Kakashi growls, as he heads out carrying the note still in his pocket.
As he leaves the apartment building, he heads directly to the Hokage’s office. Upon entering the 5th Hokage welcomes him. After the de-briefing, Kakashi tells of the hardship of Sakura and the almost lose of her. The Hokage is taken aback, and now worried. Kakashi shows the note to her.
Dearest friends
I am not long for this world. I have recently been told that I am not worth the ground I walk upon; a problem that my team and village must deal with. Also, I am worse than Naruto at being weak. After thinking on these words, I have come to the choice that it would be best to end my life. I am nothing but a problem.
Sakura
Shock and awe ravage the face of the Hokage, followed by anger. With that she gives Kakashi the mission of finding who would insult her second-student, and to protect her until the person or persons can be found. Also, to take as many other ninja’s that he feels he needs. Nodding, Kakashi leaves and heads home, with many questions he wants answered.
