Chapter 1:
Part 1: The plan
Uchiha Sasuke was bored, so bored the he didn’t put any effort in his training or attacks anymore.
He had been training under Orochimaru for almost 3 years now, and he had learned all he could from the snake.
“There’s no real competition for me here anymore, not like back then with the Dobe” the man with the crimson eyes told himself over and over again.
He knew what Orochimaru had planned for him and he was determined not to surrender his body to the snake, no he wanted to kill him and his gray haired assistant who was always bugging the Uchiha.
“It’s about time that I end this phase soon and then it’s your turn brother”. He smirked, knowing that he was being watched.

Orochimaru and Kabuto watched the pale man’s pathetic attempts to train from afar.
“There is something wrong with him, his not making any progress lately, and I am certain that he is able to become stronger” Kabuto signed.
“Yes I know, he has lost the spark of an avenger in his eyes. I can’t accept this; I want him to be at his peek when I will be taking over this perfect body of his. If not I wont be able to use the full potential of his unique powers as well as the Sharingen” Orochimaru was furious.
“Well I have an idea Master Orochimaru” Kabuto took his glasses of, examining them before putting them back on “There is still the Kyuubi no Kitsune container, the Uchiha has always shown some reaction when I have used his name, maybe we can use this for our advantage?”
“Oh I like that idea, why don’t you invite him and show him some of our hospitality he he…and Kabuto…make sure that Uchiha hears about it…but not to soon”
“As you whish Master Orochimaru” Kabuto bowed to the snake man and took off to catch his prey.
In KonohaGakure:
Uzumaki Naruto had almost choked himself on his third bowl of ramen as he was suddenly hugged form behind.
“Argh Sai, don’t do something like that Baka, I nearly had a heart attack man”
“Oh my, my, are we a bit jumpy today Naruto kun?” Sai was still hugging the blonde tightly.
Naruto somehow managed to struggle free of the man’s strong grip and looked irritated on his friend.
“So..whats up?”
“Well I just had a very interesting conversation with team 5” He told the blonde as he ordered a refill for his friend and sake for both of them.
The blonde grinned as a new bowl was put in front of him “So what did they say?”
“Oh not much except they mentioned something that might be of interest for you”
“hnn what do you mean?…come on, don’t tease me Sai-kun.”
Sai grinned at the blonde, he liked to tease his friend.
“They told me that they had spotted a man with a huge amount of chakra in the forests near the border to The Sand and they thought that he looked familiar”
The blonde almost dropped the chopsticks and bowl in his hands, his heartbeat quickened as he in his mind visualized a certain boy in his mind.
“You…you think it could be ….him?” his voice was merely a whisper.
“I can’t tell. We don’t even know if the Baka is still alive, but it s possible” Sai didn’t have much love for the Uchiha heir because he had hurt Naruto again and again, but he knew that the bastard meant a lot to Naruto which had also been the reason that he had told his friend of this news instead of forgetting it.
“I have to..” he blonde ran towards the door. His only thought was to go search for his former rival.
“Atte Naruto kun” Sai had a firm grip around the blondes wrist, holding him back. “you didn’t honestly think that I would let you take of alone, did you?”
“Sai you don’t understand, he might be in danger or hurt… I… I... have to… and I can’t expect you or anyone else to come along…too dangerous” The blonde felt the heat in his whiskered cheeks.
“I know, but who will protect you when you are in danger my friend?” Sai smiled “first we have to see the Godaime, get her permission and then we leave okay?”
“Yes you’re right Sai, I can’t break the rules just because of the Teme” The blonde scratched the back of his head, grinning.
He’s still to impulsive, Sai thought, I better keep my eyes on him.
At the Hokage tower:
“I see, and the two of you want to check the information then?” The Hokage didn’t even look up from her papers.
“Please Baa-sama I´m sure it’s him” the blonde begged
“And if it is him, then what Brat?” The blonde starred at the older woman. “Don’t get me wrong, I would like him back as well, but he is siding with the enemy and he is very strong, I´m not sure he will tag along that easily”
“We are aware of that Hokage-sama, but I also think we have to give it a try, don’t you agree?” Sai loved to irritate the Hokage, making he angry was so much fun.
The Hokage was now starring irritated at the two young shinobi in front of her desk.
Naruto gave Sai an angry glare, whispering;
“Don’t upset her Baka”
“That’s already to late Brat” Naruto dug his head remembering the unusual good hearing she had.
“Well I guess I can let you go and have a look…but if it Uchiha Sasuke, return here and we will what to do understand!” She told them.
“Yes Hokage-sama” both shinobi answered simultaneously before leaving her office though the window.
They agreed on splitting up, pack their bags and meet again under the gate in one hour.
Naruto went straight for his small apartment. He packed his bag with all he would need; his sleeping bag, food rations, bandages and his weapons. He held a kunai in his hand, starring at it.
“Will I be able to bring you back Sasuke? You have been gone for so long… I miss you so much”
He sat there on the floor tightening his fist around the weapon.
“Naruto?” he snapped out of it at looked at the young woman in front of him.
“Sakura-chan? What are you doing here?”
“Um well I … Tsunade told me you are going to look for Sasuke-kun, that you got a lead?” Her voice was merely a whisper.
“Yeah Sai got some info about a man who looked like him from a shinobi team” he signed, she misses having him around just as much as me, he thought.
“Please bring him back Naruto-kun, I beg you” She starred at her feet.
“If it’s him I will tie him up and drag him the whole damn way back here. I promise!” he grinned, hoping to make her feel better and it did. She looked at him with a small smile.
“You are the best o-nii kun” She rushed forward to hug him.
He blushed at the close contact with the young woman, feeling her breast press against his chest.
A long time ago, he had thought that he was in love with her, but she had never seen him like a lover, merely as a very good friend or a brother. His interest in her like that had slowly disappeared as they grew up. To him she was like the big sister he never had and he was very happy to have her as a friend.
“Please be careful out there. I’ll kill you if you die,” she said as she got to her feet.
“Sure thing Sa-chan,” knowing how afraid she was to loose another friend. “I have to be on my way now, Sai probably already waiting for me, take care o-nee chan.” He grinned at her as he rushed passed her out the door.
Please let it be him, he prayed, not only for mine but also for her sake.
They traveled at full speed for four days, without much rest. Exhausted they reached the forest at the border to the Sands.
“Let’s rest Naruto-kun I can’t go on anymore” Sai panted and let his weary body fall into the soft moss “Since when are you that fast?”
“I don’t know Sai” The blonde didn’t seem tired or exhausted at all to the ink shinobi and it made him wonder.
“You should rest a bit…I´m going to have a look around, be back in an hour” and before Sai could say anything the blonde was already gone.
“Nani? where does he get this strength from” he growled, knowing the answer was sealed inside the blondes slender frame; The Kyuubi no Kitsune.
He was so tried that he didn’t even notice the sound ninja who was taking form behind him. He was hit hard on the back of his head causing him to loose his consciousness.
Alone in the forest, Naruto concentrated his chakra to find any human activity or sign of danger in the forest. He felt the presence of a few larger hostile animals luckily they were not in the close surroundings of their present camp.
“hmm No signs of his chakra anywhere yet” he muttered somewhat disappointed. “But nothing is ever that easy” he told himself.
“Are you sure about that Naruto-kun?” He never got a change to see the grinning man who was moving out of the shadows, casting a powerful sleep jutsu on him, picking him up and descended back into the shadows.
