Chapter One: Take Me Home

Alrighty, another wonderful story. Maybe. I had this idea in my head for a while and toyed around with it a bit. This is what I've come up with so far. It will be a multi-chapter so this is only a sort of prologue. Let me know if you like it.

-----------------------------------------------------

The coffeehouse Uchiha Sasuke sat in was busy for the lunch hour. Everyday at noon he left the skyrise office building of his family’s company to eat his usual lunch of turkey on wheat with lettuce and tomato, and a black Arabian roast. The small coffeehouse had a maximum capacity of fourteen at a time, but the renowned Uchiha was a regular patron, therefore always got the same pouf chair scooted up to a low table where his laptop was perched next to a bay window, doing work through his lunch hour while he ate. Normally. That day his laptop was open in front of him, but his eyes were trained on the cell phone next to the laptop. He had received a very unusual call earlier and wasn’t exactly sure how to deal with it.

-Flashback: 7:00AM… That morning.-

Of course he had been up for an hour already, preparing for another tedious day of work at the Uchiha Corporation, where he was CEO. He was in the middle of eating a bagel with cream cheese when Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata sounded through the kitchen of his condo. The cellular device was on the counter where he had left it while getting his bagel. The classical song was the only thing that didn’t get on his nerves when the cell phone rang constantly. He stood to get it, mouth full of bagel, and glanced at the number showing up on the flip screen. He hated getting called so early in the morning, and hated even more getting calls from his mother so early in the morning. He groaned inwardly. His mother knew his daily routine, therefore she knew he was awake, therefore he would hear no end to it if he neglected the call.

“Uchiha Sasuke.” Was his customary greeting, despite knowing it was his mother.

“Sasuke, you know it’s me. Why don’t you just say ‘hello’?” Uchiha Mikoto answered. He could almost hear the frown in her voice.

“Sorry Mom, it’s early.”

“Well I just wanted to tell you that your brother is returning from Europe. We’re having a ‘Welcome Home’ party for him this weekend. Your father and I, and I am sure, Itachi would be very pleased if you came home for the weekend!” She sounded so happy. It was rare that she got to see her little business prodigy of a son anymore, and delighted in the excuse of Itachi’s homecoming to have him spend the entire weekend at the Uchiha Estate.

“Do you have to have a party
every time he comes home?” Sasuke asked, incredulously. His brother had been the CEO of Uchiha Corp after his father retired, Sasuke was hired out of college as the International Relations Executive. After a few months into the position, Itachi decided he would be helping the company best by traveling all over Europe and Asia, taking over Sasuke’s position. He was much better with clients; he was much more patient than Sasuke, and a better negotiator. Not too mention, he had better manners and far advanced people-skills. Itachi had even been to the United States a few times as a personal guest of this famous businessman or that famous businessman.

By taking over Sasuke’s position, Sasuke was appointed CEO. Which he didn’t mind, he was the better businessman. Even Itachi and their father agreed that Sasuke would make a better CEO. Therefore he stayed in Tokyo while Itachi traveled. Every few months, however, Itachi would return to the Uchiha Estates in Konoha to visit his family. When this occurred, Sasuke’s mother and father would call and tell him to come home, refusing to take no for an answer.

“Oh darling! We hardly ever get to see you or Itachi anymore.” Mikoto sounded as if she was going to cry. “My little boys are all grown up!!!”

Sasuke sighed. “Alright I will be there.” He threw the towel in. There was no sense arguing.

“Oh and I want you to bring your boyfriend!” His mother exclaimed, sounding hopeful.

“We’ve been through this Mom. I broke up with Neji!” Sasuke replied, irritated. While Sasuke made his personal life more personal than anyone should, his mother and father knew that they would never see any heirs from the raven-haired man. For years they had tried to set him up with well-bred young ladies that would make excellent housewives and produce fitting heirs to the Uchiha clan. They never understood why he refused each female. Sasuke never really understood it either. While in college, however, he came to the conclusion that it was because he favored men, if anyone. He still claimed he wasn’t attracted to anyone, then Hyuuga Neji showed up. They met through Itachi and his wife Hyuuga Hinata, cousin to Neji. Sasuke and Neji were introduced and began dating. He liked the Hyuuga well enough, but didn’t feel any other sort of bond. He was good for relieving sexual frustrating, and that was about it. Sasuke ended it because that wasn’t enough to keep the Hyuuga around, in his opinion.

His parents knew that Itachi and Hinata had set Sasuke up with Neji; they were supportive of their son and encouraged him to love whoever he wanted (because they would get heirs from Itachi and the Hyuuga girl). He and Neji were together until Sasuke was appointed CEO and since their breakup, he hadn’t dated since. His mother was concerned that he didn’t get enough social interaction, therefore every time they spoke she asked Sasuke to bring home a boyfriend.

“Oh Sasuke, you need someone to share your life with!!! You cant work forever! And even if you could, that’s no type of life!” She cleared her throat and continued in a stern, authoritative manner. “Now Sasuke, I expect you to bring a special friend home this weekend! There will be no arguing it!”

“Mom, there is no-”

“Sasuke! I’m sure you have a friend you’d like us to meet. Now I will see you this weekend, darling. Goodbye.” And she hung up. Sasuke stared at the phone. Unbelievable.

-End of Flashback-

All day he had thought about someone to bring to meet his parents. He did have a few business associates he would call “good acquaintances”, but none he was willing to spend an entire weekend with. He had no real friends, let alone a significant other.

“Think too hard and that pretty head of yours will explode.” A cheerful voice exclaimed, pulling him out of his thoughts. He looked up at the face he was accustomed to seeing everyday at noon. The blue-eyed blond working who always took his order at the coffeehouse grinned down at him. “Tough day, Sasuke?”

“The worst. That my lunch?” The raven-haired man replied curtly, nodding at a sandwich and coffee mug on the tray the man was holding. The blond continued to smile as he set the plate and cup down next to Sasuke’s laptop.

“Charming as ever, Sasuke.”

“Thanks, Naruto.” Sasuke replied suspiciously, and Naruto walked away. He thought it odd that Naruto hadn’t tried asking him out. Nearly everyday since Sasuke had been going to the small coffeehouse, Naruto had given him many date invitations. He always rejected though. It’s not that he really didn’t like the blond-haired man, it’s just that he didn’t go out of his way to start relationships with people he barely knew. That, and he didn’t allow himself to get too close to people. Ignoring this, however, Sasuke turned his attention back to his laptop and began typing rapidly, drawing up a requisition for whoever that guy was that asked him to do whatever it was he wanted to do. Unimportant. What was important was figuring out what the hell he was going to do when he showed up at home with no date. He sighed and shut down his laptop, placing it back into his messenger bag. He looked over at Naruto who was taking someone else’s order. He came back when he was done, seeing Sasuke sitting there waiting to pay.

“How was everything? Good as usual, I hope.” Naruto said brightly. Sasuke nodded.

“Yes, the food was good.” He took his Platinum Card out of his wallet and gave it to Naruto, who took his dishes away, as well as the card. Shortly, he brought it back, bade Sasuke a nice day and turned away. “What no date invitations today?” Sasuke retorted. Naruto turned and smiled.

“Well, I figured I’d give you a break since it was a bad day.” He gave Sasuke a suave wink. “Why are you finally interested?”

“No more interested than I ever have been. Just didn’t think you were one to give up so easily.” Sasuke teased. Naruto grinned.

“Don’t worry, I’ll try again on Monday.” As he watched Naruto walk away, an idea dawned upon him.

“Naruto!” He grabbed his bag and walked up to the blond, who had turned around.

“Yeah? You want some coffee to take back to the office?” Naruto asked. Sasuke looked determined.

“No. I actually have a personal favor to ask.” Sasuke said. “Are you doing anything this weekend?”

“Not that I know of. Why?” Naruto raised an eyebrow at the question and grinned like a fox. “You want to get together?” Sasuke stood his ground in front of the blond waiter.

“No, not exactly. I was wondering if you would like to accompany me to my parents’ house this weekend?” Sasuke could tell Naruto hadn’t been expecting that. He eyed the Uchiha closely.

“What do you mean?” He sat down in an empty booth and motioned for Sasuke to do the same. It wasn’t possible that Sasuke was asking him out on a weekend date.

“Well, my brother is coming home from traveling through Europe, and my parent’s are throwing him a welcome home party and my mother requests I bring a…” He cleared his throat. “Special friend. Problem is, I don’t have any friends.”

Naruto nodded and smiled. “She wants you to bring home your boyfriend?” Sasuke nodded, his face a mask to hide the embarrassment he felt. “Well, I’ve never skipped over the casual dating and gone right to ‘meeting mom and dad’, but I guess I wouldn’t expect you to be the type to know how to properly date someone.”

Sasuke frowned, getting rather irritated. “Don’t be ridiculous. I just need you to pretend to be my boyfriend for my family. When the weekend is over, so is our ‘relationship’.” Naruto seemed to think about this for a while, then nodded.

“Sure, I could pretend to be your boyfriend.” Naruto acquiesced. “Plus,” he added, waggling his eyebrows. “you’re totally my type.” A pale blush colored Sasuke cheeks, but he nodded anyway.

“Alright. I’m leaving tomorrow afternoon. If you want to give me your address, I can swing by and pick you up. It’s only for two days so you wont need many things.” Sasuke informed the blond. Naruto nodded and took out his order pad and a pen, scribbling his address and cell phone number on it. He ripped the paper out and handed it to Sasuke, who had already put his cell number on a business card and handed it to Naruto, just in case the blond needed to get a hold of him.

“Sounds good. See ya tomorrow then.” He stood and went back to his work. Sasuke did the same, exiting the coffeehouse, and driving back to his office.

Later that night, Sasuke was ready to go home. All of the other workers in the building had already left. He was almost always the last person out of the building, save for the janitors. He powered down his computer and gathered together everything he needed to take home. When he was sure he hadn’t forgotten anything, he made his way to the car garage beside the building. It was reserved for Uchiha Corp workers. He climbed into his black Aston Martin Vanquish S and began the short drive back to his condo.

He had yet to pack anything to return home, and decided to do that when he stepped into his condo. He set his work materials on the glass coffee table in the modern contemporary-designed living room. Most of his condo was decorated in black and white. All of the things he owned he only had because he was wealthy enough to afford them. The couch, loveseat, and chair in the living room were white Italian leather, centered around the LCD flat-screen television (which he hardly ever used) hanging above the fire place. In the kitchen he had the latest, most advanced cookware, even though he ate out almost every night. The only thing he used the kitchen for was breakfast. There were also many different kinds of beverages in the fridge. He never used to completely-stocked bar to entertain, and only drank a good stiff scotch or wine when the work day had been hell. The only room in the place that didn’t adhere to the black and white color-scheme was his bedroom. His bed was kind-sized and covered with blue and black Italian silk, as were the curtains framing it. The bedroom suit was all black and highly polished for an unrealistic shine. His walk-in closet contained only the most expensive designer clothes and probably fifty pairs of shoes.

Sasuke retrieved a black suitcase from the closet and opened it on his bed. He then went to his dresser and began pulling out clothes he thought he would need. He then did then same with his closet, including a few pairs of shoes. Afterwards he went into the living room and slumped down on the couch, flipping the TV on with the remote. In the middle of watching the news, Beethoven decided to make his trouser pocket vibrate. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked at the number, not recognizing it.

“Uchiha Sasuke.” He replied, after flipping the phone open. A warm voice laughed.

“Do you always answer the phone like that?” Naruto asked. Sasuke rolled his eyes.

“That’s how a businessman is supposed to answer his phone.”

“I see. Well I’m hungry, and I was thinking if you’re not busy that we should go out to dinner.” Naruto suggested nonchalantly. Sasuke grimaced.

“Are you asking me out on a date?” He inquired, knowing the answer.

“Well, yes and no. I figured you could tell me a little about your family and yourself so I don’t sound like a complete stranger in front of your parents.” He explained. Sasuke admitted that he had a good point. Despite not wanting to go out on a date with the blond, he didn’t want his parents to know he randomly asked this man, whom he barely knew, to go home with him. Besides, he was hungry too.

“Alright!” Naruto exclaimed. “There’s this nice Italian restaurant I’ve wanted to go to for a while. Do you like Italian?”

“Yes.” Was Sasuke’s simple reply.

“Alright, well it’s right here near my apartment, so why don’t you drop by and pick me up since you already know where I live.” Naruto suggested.

“Fine, I’ll be there in a few minutes.” Sasuke said. Naruto agreed and hung up the phone after saying bye. Sasuke turned off the television and went back into his room. He was still wearing his work suit, minus the jacket. He didn’t know if the restaurant was formal or not, but he figured a suit would be a little too much. Undressing, he went to his closet and picked out an outfit he deemed appropriate for the occasion. He grabbed his keys on the way out the door, and headed to the garage. He climbed into a charcoal-colored Mercedes-Benz McLaren and headed to Naruto’s apartment.

It was a nice complex he lived in, but not as high-class as Sasuke’s condo. He parked the car in a visitor’s spot (it was one of those deals where each apartment got two spaces), and climbed out, pressing the lock button on his keys. Naruto’s apartment was on the seventh floor, luckily there was an elevator. Once the elevator dinged open on the seventh floor, he got out and found Number 4G. He knocked three times a waited patiently. There was some rustling inside, a loud “FUCK!”, and the door popped open with Naruto grinning widely. Sasuke noted that the blond cleaned up nicely. He was wearing a light blue sweater with some khaki trousers, which he was positive were Armani. His blond hair was still sticking out in various places, but it looked nice.

“Hey! I’m ready, just let me put my shoes on!” He motioned for Sasuke to enter, and closed the door behind him. Sasuke looked around the apartment. It was very artistic. There were reds, oranges, and yellows everywhere. The entire place seemed very warm. There was also a terranium with a bunch of cacti in it against the window. Naruto put on his shoes and Sasuke led the way out to his car.

Naruto smiled at Sasuke’s back. He had only ever seen the man dressed in tailored suits, which looked fantastic on him. Now Sasuke wore, what appeared to be, a pair of charcoal Zegna slacks, and a tight, midnight blue Dolce & Gabbana three-quarters length sweater. He looked very classy and very hot! He smiled even bigger when Sasuke unlocked his Mercedes. Naruto climbed into the passenger’s side.

“Nice car.” He said as Sasuke started up the engine. “I’ve only ever seen you drive an Aston Martin.”

“I drive the Aston mostly to go to work. I drive this when I want to go out.” He replied, shifting into first gear. Naruto told him where the restaurant was. Sasuke nodded. He had never been there, but knew where it was located.

“I drive that Eclipse right there.” He pointed out an orange car with black racing stripes. It was a nice car, Sasuke had to admit. “I like to work on cars in my spare time; something my father enjoyed too. He bought that one for me, before he died. I souped it up a little though.”

“How’d your dad die?” Sasuke asked, then realized immediately that that was probably rude. He looked at Naruto. “Sorry…”

“It’s ok. He died of cancer. When I was sixteen. I never knew my mom, dad raised me on his own.” There was a hint of bitterness in his voice, and Sasuke regretted bringing the subject up. The rest of the car ride was silent. Sasuke pulled up to the restaurant and parked alongside it. They got out and went inside. The host must have figured they were wealthy because they were seated right away.

“Alright, well we’re here so you can tell me about your life.” Naruto said, grabbing a menu and looking through it. Sasuke nodded.

“My father is Uchiha Fugaku, mother: Mikoto. My brother’s name is Itachi. My dad was the CEO of Uchiha Corp before Itachi and before me. Itachi left to become the International Relations Exec. That made me CEO. My mom and dad live at Uchiha Estates in Konoha, a little south of Tokyo.” The waiter came, and each ordered their dinner.

“Konoha?! You’re kidding! I grew up in Konoha!” Naruto exclaimed, a little loudly. Sasuke’s eyes widened.

“Really?”

“Yeah! I went to Konoha High. Moved here to Tokyo after I graduated.” Naruto explained. “Did you go to Konoha High too?”

“Yeah, weird that I don’t remember you.” Sasuke shrugged it off. Konoha High was a big school. Naruto shrugged too.

“Oh well. That’s just weird. And how we met here and everything.” The waiter brought out their meals. Sasuke got the shrimp alfredo and Naruto got chicken parmesan. They began eating in awkward silence. Sasuke kept sneaking glances at Naruto the entire night, which were not unnoticed by Naruto. He looked up right after one of these glances.

“So tell me about your brother. You haven’t really talked about him.” Naruto said, taking a sip of his red wine. Sasuke regarded him for a moment then sighed.

“Itachi is five years older than me; he’s thirty. He’s married to a woman named Hinata. Maiden name Hyuuga.” He paused, seeing Naruto had something to say.

“You mean like Hyuuga Neji? They guy you used to date?” Naruto asked, then looked apologetically at Sasuke after getting a glare. “Sorry, it was in the news.”

“Yes, Hinata is his cousin. She and Itachi kindly set us up.” He continued.

“If you don’t mind me asking, why didn’t it work out?” Naruto asked. Sasuke was going to tell him it wasn’t any of his business, but remembered the rude question about Naruto’s father.

“There wasn’t any attraction, I suppose. We had nothing in common.” Sasuke explained. Naruto nodded politely and left it at that.

“What about me? Hmm? You find me attractive?” Naruto grinned and waggled his eyebrows. Sasuke looked up and smirked.

“Hn, don’t kid yourself. No one would find you attractive!” He replied, though unconvincingly. He said it as more of a joke and Naruto laughed.

After they finished their meals, the waiter brought out the check. Naturally, Sasuke was used to paying for everything himself, so he reached for the check. Naruto quickly put his hand on Sasuke’s.

“Don’t be ridiculous! I asked you out tonight, therefore I’m paying for dinner!” The blond smiled warmly. Sasuke nodded and withdrew his hand. Naruto pulled his wallet out of his pants pocket and set a credit card on the tray. The waiter took it and brought it back, giving the receipt to Naruto, who put ten dollars on the table for tip. They both stood and exited.

Sasuke drove Naruto back to his apartment. The blond climbed out and was about ready to say goodbye, but thought better of it.

“I had a wonderful evening, even though it wasn’t a date.” He added. “Would you like to come up for a drink?” Sasuke studied him for a moment. He knew he probably shouldn’t have, but against his better judgment, he nodded. Naruto grinned and waited for Sasuke to park his car and lead him up to his apartment. It was as warm and inviting as he remembered.

“Just make yourself comfortable.” Naruto said. “Do you like bourbon?”

“Yes, that’s fine.” Sasuke replied, sitting down on Naruto’s overstuffed red couch. It was extremely comfortable, and Sasuke even thought for a moment that he would like to have one. Perhaps in black. Naruto joined him with two glasses of the deep, rich liquor. They clinked their glasses and Sasuke sipped it gratefully. It warmed his throat and tasted divine. He could tell it was a rather expensive brand. Naruto figured Sasuke was thinking about something because an elegant eyebrow was raised.

“What?” He asked, looking at Sasuke straight into his eyes.

“Your lifestyle isn’t that of a waiter’s. You live a little too extravagantly.” Sasuke stated, matter-of-factly. Naruto grinned as if he’d been caught stealing cookies from the jar.

“Well, while I do get paid more than your average waiter, my dad left me some money. And he was to inherit his dad’s money, but when he died it was left to me.” Naruto admitted. “So really, I’ve had a little help living comfortably.” Sasuke nodded. He understood; there was no shame in that. He gave Naruto a genuine smile, something he knew he hadn’t given anyone in a long, long time, and took another drink of his bourbon. Naruto did the same.

Sasuke didn’t realize how fast time had passed. The two had already had several drinks. They had been chatting about nearly everything. More on Sasuke’s family, he specifics of his business, his college life. Naruto had spoken of all the good times he had had with his father before he passed on. Four hours passed, and it was already late into the night.

“… And then we would always go to the races and watch the cars. That’s kind of when my fascination for cars started.” Naruto explained, speaking of Saturday’s he used to have with his father. Then suddenly his happy face looked sad. Sasuke noticed this and put a hand on Naruto’s shoulder. The blond looked over and smiled sadly. “I’m sorry, I just sometimes miss him is all.” Sasuke nodded, not really sure what to say. Naruto’s expression quickly changed from sad to something else. Sasuke recognized it immediately. Naruto set his glass on the oak coffee table. He leaned in close to Sasuke and put a warm had on his cheek.

“It’s ok. You don’t have to say anything.” Naruto said in a husky, sultry voice. Shivers ran up and down Sasuke. His mind began panicking but his body refused to move. Naruto was closer, he could smell the muskiness emitted from him. Sasuke watched as Naruto’s face came right in front of his. He was completely entranced. Soft lips lightly caressed his. Sasuke closed his eyes, unable to do anything else. All he heard was his heart hammering in his chest. Naruto’s lips became more insistent. Sasuke moaned lightly and Naruto took the opportunity to thrust his tongue into the raven’s mouth. He explored the warm cavern. Sasuke tasted sweet with a tang of the bourbon he’d drunk. The blond placed a hand on Sasuke’s inner thigh, massaging lightly.

Sasuke seemed to snap back to reality and pulled away, looking at Naruto with wide eyes. He wasn’t sure what had just happened. He had been willing, but he was probably a little too tipsy. He looked away from Naruto and stood.

“Thank you for dinner and the drink. I really should be going now. I’ll call you before I leave my condo tomorrow.” He turned and walked out, closing Naruto’s door behind him. Naruto was still a little stunned about what had happened. He mentally kicked himself for getting carried away. He’d be lucky if Sasuke ever talked to him again. Sighing, he resigned himself that he wasn’t thinking clearly, and decided to crawl into bed.

On the way, home Sasuke’s eyes were trained on the road, trying not to think about Naruto. He was still quite tipsy and didn’t want to get distracted and cause an accident. He was extremely relieved when he saw his complex. He parked and hurried back to his condo. Grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge, he headed into his bedroom, closing the door. He downed the bottle, trying to rid himself of the alcohol. He tried to focus his mind on something other than Naruto’s kiss. It didn’t really surprise him that Naruto had done it, the blond was obviously attracted to him. What disturbed him was that he enjoyed it. Granted, it had been a while since he had had any sexual interaction with anyone, and he had had quite a few drinks, but it still unnerved him. He didn’t really know anything about Naruto. And even if he did, he still didn’t like the idea of getting too close to someone. He rid his mind of these thoughts. He would just blame it on the alcohol and neither of them would mention it again. Yes, that would work. He nodded at his brilliant idea and pulled his clothes off. Climbing into bed, he felt satisfied. He had accomplished finding someone to bring home to his parents in only a day. He pulled his covers over him and drifted off into a sound sleep.
