An Unexpected Visit
AN: This is not going to be a word for word, scene for scene copy of the movie the Princess Bride or even the book. However it will be more like the movie as I own it and I only read the book once a long time ago. It was good by the way. Which Naruto character I substitute for which PB character may surprise you, even scare you, but rest assured, this is a Sasu/Naru and if you all beg me nicely I’ll even put a bonus lemon chapter at the end.

On a TV screen you could see a young man with very spiky brown hair swinging what appeared to be a giant key, trying to hit little black creatures that occasionally sunk into the ground. He was wearing baggy, red, pants, a white shirt with a black vest over top, and ridiculously big yellow shoes. In the far bottom left corner was an ever shrinking circle of cards depicting the giant key. On the bed across from the TV system was a pretty blond wearing flannel pajamas, staring intently at the screen.
The door opens and in walks her housemate, Hinata. “A-are you feeling any b-better Ino-chan?”
“A little,” the sick girl answered, continuing to play her game.
“Well enough for c-company?”
“Maybe. Depends on who,” still not turning to look at the other girl.
Obviously this didn’t bother the pale girl. “You’re br-brother.”
This got her attention. She paused the game as her head snapped to the doorway. “Nani? What the hell is Sai doing here?” she demanded in a very loud voice.
The other girl cringed, “H-he is you’re br-brother. A-and he heard you were s-sick.”
“Oh great. Now he chooses to be a good big brother,” she mumbled. “Tell him I’m too sick or something. Other wise he’s gonna come in her and pull on my pony-tail.”
“M-maybe he w-won’t this time. Besides h-h-he.....” she was rudely interrupted.
“He’s heeeere,” he said in a voice that was supposed to be creepy, but was just annoying. The dark haired man swept poor Hinata aside so he was in the center of the doorway. He was wearing too tight black jeans and T-shirt which was just short enough to show part of his midriff. Over his shoulder was an artists satchel, filled with art supplies for school. He sauntered in, like only a gay man can, to his sisters bed.
By the time he reached the side of er bed he had his fake smile on. Her brother had many fake smiles ranging from ‘I have the emotional range of a teaspoon so I‘m going to try to show some’ to ‘I have an ulterior motive so I’m pretending to care.’ Even having known him his whole life it was hard to tell the difference. “How are you feeling, Ino?” he said in a concerned tone as he leaned down to hug her. The blond dropped her guard only to have him tug on her ponytail instead.
Ino squawked indignantly, embarrassed that she had fallen for his trap. “You jerk,” she shrieked, then tried to hit him in retaliation. The slightly older sibling dodged her fist with practiced ease. Smirking, he pulled the chair out from her vanity and plopped down. Hinata, a pacifist at heart, shrank away and down the hall.
Sai stopped smirking long (or at least the smirk got smaller. enough to ask, in all seriousness, “So how are you really feeling, Sis?”
“How the hell do you think I feel? I lost a model gig because of this freaking cold. I’m congested, nauseous, and now, thanks to you, I’m getting a headache,” she answered, wallowing in self pity.
“Well I think I know how to make you feel better,” he said, reaching into his satchel. Ino got excited, expecting jewelry or even a new shirt, cause let’s face it gay men have great taste, even brothers. He might be an art student, but he also made quite a bit of money as an art model with his killer body. It was genetic. Ino was also a model, a fashion model since she was 12. She was also going to school to study fashion design. When he pulled out an old book she frowned. Noticing the look on her face his fake smile returned. “Sorry no clothes this time.”
Ino pouted, partly playful but mostly in disappointment. “This book is special. It’s the first book I ever read that had an M/M relationship in it,” he explained. This got the rabid yoai fangirl’s attention.
He handed the worn, hard covered book to his baby sister and she grabbed it. She quickly looked through it, but obviously didn’t find what she was looking for. “Where are the pictures?” she asked confused.
The fake smile firmly in place, Sai answered, “There are a few in there but it‘s not a manga. As I said this is a special book. I stumbled upon it in a garage sale when I was 12. It’s actually what made me realize I was gay. I used to read it was I was confused or sad. Now I shall read it to you.”
Still disappointed that it had no pictures or gorgeous men she decided to humor her brother as it was obviously important to him. “Is it any good?”
“Would I read it if it wasn’t” he deadpanned.
“Fine what’s it about?”
“Fencing, fighting torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, real friendship, miracles, self realization,” he listed, almost sounding excited.
“Eh, doesn’t sound too bad.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence.” He opened the book and Read “The Princess Bride, by William Goldman.”
Well, what do you think. Was my Sai good or was he out of character. I don‘t know a lot about him but after I agonized over who would read the book to Ino, I finally decided on him. Please review.
PS Can you gues what wideo game Ino is playing?
