What Dreams Mean

Disclaimer : I do not own anything in relation to Naruto except being able to write steamy sex scenes. -cough- You'll get to those eventually... Hopefully >3
The (unfortunately) long awaited sequel to "Last One Standing" and, yes, it will be a multiple chapter fic, because I have many ideas to torture our lovely characters with... I hope everyone is quite happy with my offering into the Naruto Universe, and also hope that it meets any and all expectations! I am also going to be going back and partially rewriting the previous fic, editing it and such for spelling and attempting to make it flow quite a bit better. Comments and Criticisms are fully welcomed, and please, don't worry about being a bit harsh! (Okay, so flames are going to make me cry, but that's life XP) Have fun, and thanks for reading! And yes, this is only a prequel!

Prequel : What Is Going On Here?
___________________

It was hot.. Always so hot.. Like fire running through his... Their? Veins. Oddly enough it was also always dark, as if all the light had been sucked from where they had hid. But where were they? Why was there only fire and darkness? They... They couldn't remember...

"My Lord... Please, waken."

Lord? They were no lord... But yes, they would awake...

Brilliant eyes of violet hue blinked open with startling swiftness and stared down at the creature which had spoken to them, gazing with curiosity at the young two tailed fox who sat primly in their presence, gazing up at them with sudden delight. They were somewhat startled at the sight, primitive thoughts that they couldn't quite grasp confused by its appearance... Something was wrong with foxes, something ancient, and dark... The young female, for somehow they could sense that was what it was, cocked her head and yipped happily up at him, her silverish gray and white fur appearing to crackle with tiny lightning bolts as she bounced to her feet, the yellow markings along her sides almost glowing with the power of her happiness.

"You are awake! You're awake! We have been calling and calling, but now, finally!" She yipped again, leaping into the air, somersaulting, and coming back down neatly, eyes bright with excitement even as she continued to look up at him.

Blinking again and cocking its head, the creature the young kitling had been trying to wake began to look around, wondering what it was, and who it was... And how could a fox speak? Of course that was when it caught sight of... Itself, obviously, for those tremendously sized paws could belong to no other, since they appeared attached to... Himself? Yes, he was male... The immensely, almost incomprehensibly large creature looked down at himself, violet eyes wide as they looked at the deep red, almost black paws, toes tinged with the barest hint of gold, then swung to look behind himself, at the flowing lines of back, rump, hind legs, and... Nine great tails, swishing gently back and forth, each tipped with gold to various degrees.

What... What was he???

All was quiet... All was peaceful and wonderful. One dark haired male was laying quite contentedly in his bed, dark red and blue covers pulled up nearly over his face while his dark hair was flung out all over the pillow. He could stay here, relax, sleep more, and forget about what the day was. Sasuke sighed, half asleep, before rolling over and burying his face in the pillow, heart panging in his chest as he searched mindlessly for the scent that wasn't there.

**************

"Sasuke! You said you would come out and train with me! Bastard, get up!" Tugging arms pulled on him, but with a low growl, Sasuke ignored the voice, though a hint of smile touched his face as he pulled the pillow over his head, effectively hiding it, and him, from the pouty glare of the boy in his bed.

"Oh come on duck butt, get up and at 'em! Don't make me force you" The voice warned, and Sasuke felt curled fingers ghost along his sides, sweeping up his naked back and udner the pillow until it curled loosely around his neck from the back, and instantly Sasuke was awake, and definetly not at parade rest anymore. He couldn't ignore -that-, and slowly his head came up, rolling itself into that large, callused hand that radiated enough heat to warm up even his cold skin, black eyes scanning up seemingly miles of tanned skin up to...

"Good morning, Sasuke..." Bright eyes gleaming with mischief, and an odd tenderness that none saw but him.

"Good morning, Naruto." There was the barest curve of lips as he shuffled over slightly to lean his head on his lover's knee.

***************

"SASUKEEEEE" A screech, right beside his ear, was suddenly accompanied by a flying sensation. The dark haired ninja came awake in a second, twisting his body to land, before suddenly he felt a heavy weight smack him, full body, and land him against the wall. Glaring, Sasuke identified the 'attacker' as his mattress, which had apparently been flung at him after it had been used to flip him out of said warm bed. "Sakura!" He hissed as he came up from behind the white mattress, glowering at the pink haired woman who smiled sweetly back at him, though her one eyed glare was cold.

"You know we're supposed to go meet Lady Tsunade in half an hour, and we also know you do this every year" Sakura grinned at him again, one hand raising to swipe through her hair and the skin colored patch that covered the remains of her left eye, even as another figure joined them in the room, yet another target for Sasuke's glare. Neji ghosted up behind the pink haired female and instantly grabbed her hand, pulling it away from where it was picking at the edge of the patch, lacing their fingers and wrapping it around her growing waist.

Sakura was still quite a beauty, even though she had lost the use of her right eye in a major battle with the Akatsuki two years earlier, rendering her off the battle field for the better part of a year as she learned to compensate. But luckily in that year, she had found her own love among the ninjas of the village. Neji had drawn her off the battle field, bleeding all over the patients she was attempting to save, draining every bit of her power into reviving and healing them that her eye was already beyond repair. He had knocked her out as gently as he could, then dragged her to the medics, and had, oddly enough for the repressed ninja, stayed by her side. Two years later they were quite happily married and expecting their first child, which Sasuke could do without the reminders of.

"Come on Uchiha, I will not allow you to uphold this meeting this year as you have the past three. I know you do not like the reminder, but" "Of course I do not like the 'reminder'" Neji's words were cut off with a hiss that was irritatingly close to being snakelike before the other dark haired ninja turned his head away, wrapping his arms around his waist with a dark glare. Sakura made a sound under her breath and shook her head when Neji tensed. "We all hate it, Sasuke, not just you. You were not the only one who lost him. We all did." "He is -not- gone." "Its been three years, Sasuke... Naruto wouldn't want you to keep hurting... He'd want you to move on, and" "No." The girl bit her bottom lip at the flare of chakra from her friend before running a hand through her hair once more and stepping back.

"You, my friend, had better get dressed, and quickly... You promised you'd be there today, and on time, Sasuke" She growled in a fair imitation of the dog's their friend trained even as she whirled on a foot and returned to the side of her boyfriend, who carefully slung an arm over her shoulder.

Rubbing his sore chest, Sasuke started going through his drawers, still glowering at his former teammate. "And who's fault was it that I promised? I do value my life, Lady Hyuuga" the raven threw over his shoulder, causing Sakura to roll her eyes and smooth a hand over her slightly bulging stomach. "That is Haruno-Hyuuga to you mister." Eying the incredibly rumpled bed with a sad frown on her face, the pink haired woman looked at him again, before looking at Neji and shooing him out so she could talk to the dark eyed boy alone. "Sasuke... You haven't been sleeping well again, have you?" She asked aloud, moving closer and raising a hand to touch him in a friendly manner, but a small snap of chakra, like lightning leaping off his skin, had her backing away again.

At that pop, Sasuke's back tensed up and he wrapped his arms around himself in a defensive manner. "Sorry, Sakura... And no, but you knew that before you even came here..." "Sasuke..." Sakura sighed and backed off, moving away and fixing his bed as he walked into the bathroom and got dressed, away from her eyes.

Just as he walked out, a large white and tannish brown head stuck its way through the door, pink tongue lolling as Kiba's companion woofed slightly, wriggling as Sakura scratched behind his ears, at least until his master's voice came into the room at a yell. "You two! Hurry up before we're late!" Looking at each other, the two ninjas nodded and instantly clapped their hands together, disappearing in a flurry of leaves before reappearing back outside, Sakura bopping the dog nin on the head and smiling at Neji before all the four ran off, heading towards the Godaime's headquarters...
