Author's Note: This idea struck me quite suddenly, as a take off of the story of Psyche and Cupid. If you don't know the story, you should look it up. It's quite nice. While this is not the same thing at all, that ancient myth is what inspired it. For those of you wondering, a loose translation of the title is “In dreams, desire is sought” It's Latin, as is the title for the chapter. Introitus means “a beginning” or “an introduction”. Yes, unoriginal as all hell, I know. But whatever. On with warnings.

Part I: Introitus

Naruto leaned back against the cushions of his couch, the fabric feeling scratchy against the bare skin of his shoulders. He arched into the touch of fingers that ran over his chest until they brushed over his right nipple, and sighed. A voice spoke near his ear, seeming familiar and masculine, but yet he could not place it. “Do you like that?” Before he could answer, the fingers tightened on his sensitive skin, lightly pinching at the spot. All that came out of his mouth was a broken moan. The voice seemed to smile as it said in a very pleased sort of way, “I think you do...then let us see what else you like.”

Wet heat trailed down his neck to his chest, until it replaced the hand that formerly tortured him. “Aaah...yes...” The mouth then moved lower, licking at his sternum, tracing his abdominal muscles, nipping at the area just before his ribs, sending shivers throughout his body. It was amazing. But...the only thing that could make it better was being able to see the man. All he saw was a vague, dark shape that seemed to be a bit fuzzy around the edges.

He couldn't see the exact way that the man's lips slid over his skin, or even watch them as he spoke. Naruto could not tell when the man's mouth opened to take in the entire length of his arousal, even if it was the most incredible sensation he had experienced. The slick heat began taking him over, obliterating every other thought, and he reached out to touch the man, to clutch at him and pull him closer, all the while unable to do so. It was maddening! But the more he tried to grasp at his insubstantial lover, the more pleasurable it became, and soon, his conscious mind was gone, leaving nothing behind other than sweat and heat and twisting, writhing need.

He could feel something slick begin to glide into the cleft of his buttocks, but that sensation was far overshadowed by his impending orgasm, which had begun to barrel down upon him with the force of a freight train. “Oh...oh my--” Whatever he had meant to say was swallowed by an immense scream, his body arching and eyes glazing over with a volley of stars in all of the shades of the technicolor rainbow.

Dimly, he heard, “You are mine...”

Naruto sat bolt upright, startled awake by a sudden sound, his dream shattered. Genma was just stepping into the dim glow of the fire, his arrival having caused the rustling of leaves. He stared wide-eyed at the older man, who gave his usual lopsided smile and sat down on a fallen log. Naruto was very glad for the blanket that covered him to the waist. “Nothing much out there,” Genma said, gesturing to the woods. “The enemy hasn't even arrived yet.” Naruto nodded, unsure he could trust his voice a the moment. The dream was still far too fresh in his mind. “You okay, kiddo?”

Flapping a hand at Genma, he grumbled something about being fine. After a moment, when hazel eyes were turned to the trees in watch, Naruto looked at the other two people in their party. Sasuke lay across the fire, sleeping on his side with his head cushioned on his pack. It always amazed him how Sasuke could sleep just about anywhere, with little or no comfort. To Naruto's right, he caught the glint of blond hair in the firelight, and turned to see Ino asleep, as well. She had bunched up a bit of her blanket, and was using it for a pillow while sleeping curled up on her side in a near-fetal position.

His eyes strayed back toward Sasuke, who stirred in his sleep, turning over onto his back. Pale skin was exposed where his shirt collar fell away, allowing any that cared to look a view of his collar bone and upper chest. For close to a minute, Naruto was mesmerized by the way the barely flickering light of the fire seemed to make that skin glow. Then, he blinked a few times, and asked Genma how long it was until his watch. It was still some time yet, so he lay down and closed his eyes, willing away the erection the dream had given him. It did no good. Even with his eyes closed, he could still see the afterimage of the fire's light on Sasuke's skin.

Sasuke huffed, setting down his teacup in favor of the pen with which he had been writing. “No excuses. You fucked up, and that goes in the mission report.” Naruto, who sat across the table from him, sputtered, trying to blame it on a sleepless night. Not looking up from his report draft, Sasuke said, “You can't pull that one, either. I've seen you take out six men at once, on less than an hour's sleep, after you ran all day. Fess up, Naruto. You were distracted by her breasts.”

What are you talking about? I was not!

With a sigh, he put down the pen and faced his friend. “I saw you staring at them when she took the scroll from you. Are you trying to say that I'm lying?” Naruto's face turned red, and he seemed deflated. “That's what I thought. Now, drink your tea.” He continued to write the report, watching his handwriting flow down the page, and listening to Naruto fidget endlessly across from him. Pausing again, he looked up, one eyebrow rising in question.

“Everything worked out...it's no big deal, right?” Naruto looked at him pleadingly. “None of us were hurt, and we got the scroll back. All's well that ends well.” Sasuke said nothing, only bent his head down and continued to write. That kicked puppy look had not worked on him before, and it would not start now. After fifteen minutes of silence on his part, and fidgeting on Naruto's, he folded the paper and took out a stick of sealing wax. Once he used a mild fire jutsu to melt the end of it, he let it drip onto the edge of the fold, then pulled at a chain around his neck. The Uchiha seal made a clear impression on the wax, and he nodded as he put it away.

“I am going to deliver this to the mission administration staff. You should go home and clean yourself up and—what are you staring at?” Sasuke's voice began to rise, and he poked Naruto in the chest. He's looking at my chest, Sasuke thought, unable to understand why. Not like he had anything there to look at. Naruto tried to stutter something, but he waved it off. “Never mind. Just get your head out of your ass before our next mission.” He stood, pushing his chair back from the table, and left without another word.

--

Naruto sat on his little balcony, watching people walk by below. He had showered, shaved, and was now lounging in the faded yellow Adirondack chair Sakura had given him as a house-warming gift. The lounge pants he wore were of a soft, blue cotton, and he snuggled into the over sized sweatshirt he'd stolen from Sasuke. In his hands, he held a steaming cup of hot chocolate. On a cool fall evening, there was little better than this.

He thought back about an hour to his argument with Sasuke over the mission report. Okay, Naruto conceded, so maybe I was looking at her boobs. But that dream...it's doing weird things to my brain! And apparently, it was. How else could it be explained? Why else would he shamelessly ogle Ino's ass when she bent down to fix her sandal, or Sasuke's chest as he slept? And for the love of God, the way Genma rolled that senbon around in his mouth...

It took a very stiff shake of the head to clear away those images. He took a sip of hot chocolate, letting the flavor spread over his tongue, and remembered the dream that caused this mess in the first place. It had all seemed so real, at the time. Other than the fact that he was with a rather formless being, it seemed very real, indeed. Naruto let his head fall back against the chair, and tried clearing his mind. He had to think of something very non-sexual. But everything that came to mind, his brain twisted into something so naughty that by the end of it, there was an orgy going on in his head, and he had to put down his cup and rush inside to the bathroom.

Ten minutes later, he slumped over his sink, listening to the water run. His mind had begun playing the dream over and over gain, replacing the vague, formless man with other people, not always male. Sakura, Shikamaru, Shizune, Genma and finally Sasuke had appeared at various moments, each producing a different effect. But it was frightening how intense his orgasm was in the end. He felt drained of energy, like it would be best if he simply forgot about dinner and went to bed. Deciding that it wasn't a bad idea, Naruto retrieved his cup from the balcony, rinsed it out and placed it next to the sink, and fell into bed. It was less than a minute before he was asleep.

--

Sakura sat watching Naruto from the corner of her eye. He'd not said a word for a full five minutes, and he was picking at his food. There were the beginnings of dark circles under his eyes, and his movements were jerky. Therefore, she considered it a response conditioned into her by being a medic when she asked, “Hey, Naruto, are you getting enough sleep?”

Blue eyes blinked, and turned to her from where they had been staring across the room at nothing. “What?” He asked, looking at her owlishly. She immediately put her hand to his forehead, feeling for a fever. Confused, she moved both hands to his cheeks, then his neck to feel for bulging glands. Then she began channeling chakra into him, doing a quick examination on him. It all came to nothing.

“You're not sick...are you okay? I haven't seen you this quiet unless you're asleep in like...ever.” She leaned on the counter, still turned sideways on her stool. Naruto shook his head, saying it was nothing, just that he was feeling tired lately. “Well, if it keeps up, don't just let it be. Come and see me at the hospital.” He said he would, and then made an obvious effort to be more lively and interact better with her. Half an hour later, they parted ways, Naruto walking somewhat dreamily down the street, and Sakura staring worriedly after him.

--

Sasuke watched as Naruto hauled himself up from the ground, shaking his head and then taking up his fighting stance once again. They had met at their usual place for sparring, though Naruto had been a few minutes late, and now he was starting to be not a little irritated. “You're not fighting me seriously,” he said, pointing out what he thought was glaringly obvious. “When are you going to get your shit straight?” Naruto growled under his breath, and barreled at Sasuke, kunai at the ready. He dodged the first few swipes of the sharp instrument, but was caught by a feint and his legs flew out from beneath him.

Back hitting the ground hard, Sasuke could not breathe. Things only got worse when Naruto pinned him to the ground, blade at his throat, and one hand holding both of his wrists above his head. “I win,” he heard next to his ear, “Sasuke.” Something about the way Naruto said his name just then sent a violent shiver down his spine, and Sasuke covered it by trying to throw his assailant off. It did not work. “Say it, and I'll let you up.”

Sasuke tugged hard at his wrists, but Naruto's grip held firm. “Never.”

“I bet I can make you say it...” hot breath was tickling at the small hairs on the side of his face, and Sasuke felt his heart speed up at the blatant innuendo. Naruto's nose nuzzled at his jaw, briefly making his head tilt backward. Lips grazed the skin just beneath his ear, and Sasuke let out an involuntary gasp. “I bet,” Naruto's voice became low and dark as he said, “that I could make you say just about anything. Couldn't I, Sasuke?” A small, weak sound escaped him, and he heard Naruto laugh lowly. And then he was gone.

Sasuke blinked repeatedly, watching Naruto stand upright. He looked away as he noticed that there was a bulge in the dark blue sparring pants his friend wore. “You're blushing,” Naruto said laughingly. Sasuke did not say anything. It was pointless to lie, since the evidence was literally all over his face. “I'll see you later,” and then he was gone.

Sasuke wanted to yell in frustration, but all he could manage was a bewildered, “What the hell was that about?”
