A Rivial

Gaara stood there in the middle of woods in front of Lee; he had his hands tightened into fists as he tried to tell him his biggest secret. "I...well...huh this is harder than I thought..." He said and looked down at the ground trying to gather his thoughts.

Looking at his friend worriedly Lee tried to figure out what he was trying to say. What could Gaara have wanted? "What is it Gaara-kun?" He said softly. It was really confusing him that Gaara had asked him to come out to the woods and was now saying nothing that made sense.

Gaara took a deep breath and walked up to Lee, with trembling hands he grabbed onto his vest and pulled him down so their faces were level. "I...y-you see um..." Gaara blushed and bit his lip as he looked at Lee realizing he just could not say it....maybe he could show it. With the last of his courage he pulled the older male closer and kissed him.

Lee's eyes widened and he pulled back quickly terrified of the kiss for a moment. 'W-what? Why did he kiss me??' He thought to himself in his head as he brought his own hands up to Gaara's trembling ones and gently coaxed them off of his vest. "Ummm what was that?? I uh... two guys should not do that Gaara-kun..." He let go of the small hands and backed away from the redhead.

Gaara blinked and he bit hard on his lip. 'Not the reaction I was hoping for...' He thought and took a step forward. "L-Lee I...I'm in l-love with you..." Gaara finely admitted and tried to place his hand on the taller males shoulder.

The leaf ninja's mouth fell agape for a half a second before he noticed the hands coming towards him. He quickly pushed it away and gulped. "W-wait! Do not touch me... you c-cannot be in love with me... I love Sakura-Chan... You know that... you are just playing a joke... knock it off Gaara-kun I do not like jokes like this..." He ranted out. He was confused and freaked out. There could be no possible way that the redhead loved him. And even if he did he loved Sakura...

Gaara felt a pain in his heart and gripped onto his vest his eyes starting to water. "It's...It's not a joke! It's how I really f-feel!" The leader yelled and looked at the ground.

Lee stared at him for a moment and then backed up more. "I...I am sorry Gaara... I cannot accept those feelings..." He felt bad for not adding Kun to Gaara's name. But at the moment he was too freaked out to keep a bond between them. Then he looked away, "How could you even know you love me..? You said you do not know what love is... so... you possibly could not have those feelings for me!" He spat out a bit harsher then he intended but, he didn't apologize, he was confused and not very happy with what Gaara was saying.

Gaara flinched and let his tears fall. "I s-see...I really thought you w-were different Lee...You're just like everyone else! You don't think I am able to l-love another person..." He said and lifted his hand in a sign. "I will l-leave you a-alone n-now...I'm s-sorry..." Gaara said and disappeared in a swirl of sand leaving Lee alone in the clearing.
