Naruto, and all other characters in this fiction do not belong to me, they belong to Masashi Kishimoto. I write this for giggles and I don't make money from it.
Red River
A/N:- I don't own Naruto. I just make the characters do crazy things in different realms. Naughty things. I also don't have a beta/proof reader. So if you spot any mistakes, or the paragraphs are all wrong, it's because of that. If anyone would like to be a beta for me, email me at tex.1991@yahoo.co.uk. This fanfiction is mine. No stealing. Also, it's my first! Criticism welcome! ______________________________________________
Prologue They came at them both from every direction, their excited screeches as they neared the humans reminding the pair of car tyres skidding across a dry road . Bright emerald blue eyes were wide with worry, tanned fingers pulling at golden strands of hair as he tried to form an escape plan. His partner looked all but bored as he loaded his shotgun, his one good eye watching as the demons drew closer. “So, Naruto… What’s the plan..?” the one eyed man drawled, peering over towards the other hunter with a sigh. Naruto stared at him, and if it wasn’t for the hordes of demons getting closer with every second, he might have hit him once or twice for asking. “What do you think, Kakashi? We fight!” His tone was enthusiastic, almost as if he were looking forward to a good fight even if they were outnumbered 30 to 2, but Kakashi wasn’t fooled, staying to fight was suicide, and he could tell by the panicked look in those blue eyes that Naruto thought the same.
It wasn’t long before the demons were on them, their loud screeches almost deafening as Kakashi fired the first shot, straight into the first demons head. The demons looked typically normal, the bodies they were possessing could have been dead or alive, it didn’t matter. Long, sharp teeth and claws were one of the few giveaways that they were no longer human, aside from the bleached white of their eyes and the prominent colour of their veins standing out on almost translucent skin. The demons' head exploded behind him, red bits of skull, flesh, brain and blood painting anything that stood behind him, but it went unnoticed as the pale body fell limply to the floor, the other demons treading over it to reach the pair just out of arms reach. Before Naruto could even think about raising the revolver clutched in his tanned fingers, a blinding white light stopped the demons in their tracks, white eyes flashing as they turned to face whatever, or whoever had decided to interrupt killing-time. An engine revved dangerously, and the demons ear-splitting screech pierced the air before a large Toyota Land Cruiser ploughed through the masses. Naruto knew the car well.
It took all of three seconds for the truck to stop beside the pair; the doors flew open and three people piled out, guns blazing in the direction of the demons.Naruto didn't stop to think, he grabbed a stunned Kakashi and piled into the vehicle, soon followed by the three who still held off the demons. The doors were closed, the rover was put into gear and blue eyes watched, anxious as the large four by four reversed over the screaming body-snatchers before making a speedy getaway. His heart pounded in his ears, as he stared out of the back window, blue eyes wide with fear, even as he sat in the safety of the vehical, “Well damn, that was a close one.” Kakashi murmured from the seat across from him, and Naruto turned to watch him, nodding his agreement before his attention turned to theirsaviours. Two men and one woman sat in the back seat with the pair, one man already looked half-asleep as his brown, pony-tailed head rested back against the headrest, SMG placed face-down onto the floor. The other male offered a grin full of sharp teeth at Naruto, red triangle-shaped tattoo's on either side of his cheeks. The woman had rested her head against the sleeping man's shoulder, a smirk curling her lips and blonde hair held up into four separate ponytails. Naruto sighed finally, relaxing back into his seat as his blue eyes fluttered closed, “Damn, guys.. You couldn't have come any later..” he muttered, though his smile suggested he was only teasing. The tattooed man growled at the blond hunter, and before Naruto could even react a fist smashed soundly into the side of his jaw, “What the fuck, Kiba?! That hurt!!” He whined, tanned hands clutching his jaw protectively. Kiba smirked, arms folding over his chest as he leaned back into the car seat, “For leaving without us.” was all he said as he pulled his furry hood up and closed his eyes. Naruto glared at him, fist clenching and swinging towards the hooded man's head. A hand shot out of nowhere, grabbing his fist just seconds away from Kiba's face. Naruto looked in surprise at the previously sleeping male, “Kiba's right.. You had us worried.. Troublesome..” the man drawled, finally letting go of Naruto's fist in favour of curling his arm around the woman at his side. “Shikamaru..” “It's alright, you're both fine now. Let's keep our hands and opinions to ourselves for now. Did you get it..?” The woman asked, blonde eyebrow raised in question. Naruto nodded enthusiastically, his hand digging into his pouch at his side to pull free a small booklet, “Yeah! Hopefully with this, we'll be able to get those body-snatchers out of their hosts without damaging them! What do you think, Temari?” He thrust the booklet in the woman's face, literally bouncing in his seat as she opened the book and leaned over to show Shikamaru. One lazy eye read the contents, and with a mumble that sounded something like; 'Troublesome' and a nod of his head, he fell back 'asleep'. Temari nodded in turn, politely handing the book back to Naruto, “It looks official. Hope it works, kid.” she smiled. Naruto's eye twitched, “'Hope it works?' of course it'll work! I didn't go all the way out there, get attacked, almost die and get saved just to get a book that may or may not hold the words that may or may not WORK.” He pouted, pushing the book back into the pouch as he huffed, falling back into his seat. No one else spoke throughout the rest of the drive, all eyes either watching the scenery pass by, or closed.
