(Prisoner)

He stopped himself from fleeing, his sky blue eyes scanning the area around him, his breath coming out in short hard puffs of steam in the cold December rain. The darkness of the night did its best to hide him from the sight of his pursuers. He cursed himself mentally, not daring to make a sound, not daring to give away his location. 

This forest was like a maze, every turn he thought was the right one, had soon led him deeper into the darkness, and confused his sense of direction even more.

He was in trouble.

No he was screwed.

He should have left a marking or two, leaving himself some indication on where to go, where to turn, and how to get back to his group, his teammates. He had figured if he needed to, he could hurry back to Sakura and Sai, he could just smell his way back, but the use of a smoke bomb had burned his nostrils and irritated his sense of smell.

He had been in such a rush to find the onyx eyed teen, to find the missing nin of Konoha. He had seen those eyes, those cold black eyes watching him from the shadow. He saw the blue-black hair illuminated in the fire's light. And he had followed the shadowed figure through the woods, chasing after the Uchiha, chasing the teen he had once called his friend, hoping to catch him, to return him to Konoha.

It was only when the first sound nin attacked him did he realize he had fallen right into their trap.

He fled the moment he could get away, trying to lose the five nin following his trail, trying to protect himself from their sight.

If he could hide until morning he would be safe, if he could hide until the sun rose, then he could find his way back to his camp, no problem.

He placed his hand over his mouth, trying to muffle the sounds of his harsh panting. The cold, damp high altitude air was making it difficult to breathe. He stiffened his body, stopping any movement as his sky blue eyes watched the five men below him upon the ground. They talked, trying to figure out what direction the blonde nin would run, their attention turned towards the black haired teen as he stepped closer to them.

“We lost him sir.”

“Find him.... and bring him back unharmed. Orochimaru has plans for him.”

Naruto watched as the five nodded in obedience towards the ex Konoha nin, before all six figures darted off, disappearing into the darkness. Naruto allowed his breath to slowly release from his chest. His hand shook slightly as he lowered it down to his side.

“What the hell could they possible want with me?” It was as if a sudden realization dawned on him. Naruto's placed his hand softly upon his abdomen, rubbing the seal there slowly. “Right... I bet its all about you... Damn fox.”

He pulled himself to his feet on the branch, his eyes scanning the area below him looking for any signs of the enemy nearby.

“Guess Sound really needs to send out better nin... Those idiots were too easy to lose!”

“If they are idiots... then you are obviously retarded. Haven't you learned by now? When talking to yourself… don't talk aloud... Dobe.” 

Naruto's head turned back towards the nin behind him. He hadn't noticed the other sneak up behind him… hadn't heard him… hadn't smelt him!

“S-Sasuke...” Naruto felt a bruising pain as the black haired teen's hand pinched a nerve on his neck. He felt his body falling forward and the arms of the missing Konoha nin embrace him, before it all went black.

Before he became a prisoner of sound.

(Hey guys! that is right I am back from my hiatus, seeing as I now have a ton more time I decided I was going to start rewriting some of my stories, change the plots a little, so not everything is going to go according to planned, I hope you all stick around to read what's next!
