To Blindly Follow

Hey there every one. Sorry it has taken so long for an update, but I have had college classes out the wazooo! Oh well. I try. Hope all of you are well and that you are still enjoying this story. and if anyone wants to let me know how they think this should end, don't hesitate to let me know. I will take a vote. Should it end with a healthy Neji or semi healthy or same as when when Sasuke took him home? I will be working on the final chapter soon, so let me know. anywho on with the chap. Ja Ne.....Anubis.


Sasuke stood in the Hokage’s office, trying his hardest to look bored. The girl had been talking for the last thirty minutes about the trip, how they were rude to her and threatened her. Naruto was trying to hide the fact that he was laughing.
“Granny Tsunade, Neji threatened her earlier,” Naruto said, snickering,
Tsunade looked at Naruto then at Sasuke. “Neji was out?” she asked.
“Yeah, he was on his way to therapy with Kakashi.”
Tsunade smiled. “Good, then I think that I can start the healing jutsus again,” she said, “Well, you two did well, dismissed.”
“But what about Sasuke marrying me?” the girl whined.
“The last of the Uchiha’s is already spoken for,” Tsunade said, “Besides, his next mission is taking care of Neji………that is what you are going to be paid for.”
Sasuke glared at her for a moment. “I do not need to be paid to help him!”
Tsunade held up a calming hand. “I know, but you are going to need to be off and I figure the only way you will survive is if I make it a mission,” she said, “I will discuss this with Neji and tell him that it is all my idea.”
Sasuke continued glaring for a moment then sighed. “As you wish, but I don’t want him to think that I have to be paid to help him.”
Tsunade nodded. “I know,” she said then turned to the girl, “Lady, perhaps you would like to go see your father.”
Naruto and Sasuke snickered as they left the office. The kit turned to look at his friend and grinned. “So, getting paid to get laid huh?” he said, laughing harder.
Sasuke punched him and glared at him. “Shut up,” he growled, “I can’t believe that she wants to do this, I thought that Neji had been doing well.”
Naruto stopped laughing and looked serious. “It could be that she may want to try something new to help him,” he said, “You may need to be here for it.”
Sasuke stopped for a moment and thought about it. He stood there for so long that Naruto touched his shoulder. “Sasuke?”
The Uchiha jumped and looked at his friend. “Sorry, I was elsewhere,” he said, “Look, I have to get back to my apartment, I will see you later.”
Naruto grinned. “Sure, I have something I have to do myself,” he said.
Sasuke smirked. “I’m sure.”
Naruto put his hand behind his head and laughed. “Hey, it is not my fault that he likes it,” he said, “Well, see ya later!”
Sasuke laughed also and walked towards his apartment. When he walked into the apartment, Neji was sitting on the couch, his eyes closed. The Uchiha sat next to him and laid his hand over the thin pale one. “How are you doing?” Sasuke asked.
Neji turned his head towards his lover. “Pretty good, did I get you into much trouble?” he said.
“No, Tsunade thought that it was a good thing that you are standing up for your self that way.”
A soft laugh was heard and Neji looked down. “I wasn’t feeling that way,” he said, “I was just afraid that I would be alone.”
Heaving a sigh, Sasuke put his arms around Neji and pulled him close. “Look, I told you, we are in this together,” he said.
“The clan sent someone to take me back,” Neji said, putting his weight on to Sasuke, “They were going to take me by force.”
Sasuke went ridged and tightened his grip. “Kakashi and Shikamaru were here, so they didn’t stand a chance, but it worries me that they would get that bold,” Neji finished.
“All right, looks like the Hokage had a good idea,” Sasuke said tightly, “I am going to be home with you until you are able to get along on your own anyway.”
“Why is that?”
“Before I tell you, you have to know that I would have done this anyway,” Sasuke said, “I am on an indefinite mission right now.”
Neji went a little cold. “So you actually decided to take the mission?” he asked slowly.
“Yes,” Sasuke said.
Feeling Neji try to pull away from him, he held on and added quickly, “This was the Hokage’s idea and I was just going to ask for time off, but she said that I may need to be out longer than I can afford and she wants to make sure that you are well cared for.”
“So, she wants to pay you to take care of me?”
“Yes, but I am not doing this because I am going to get paid for it.”
Neji covered his face with his hands and turned away from Sasuke. He sat there for a moment then calmed himself down. He remained quiet for a few more moments, his hands in his lap, his eyes closed. “You would really have taken time off to stay here with me?” he whispered, finally.
“Yeah.”
“You are doing this because you want too?’
Sasuke with held the growl of frustration and said softly, “I am doing this because I love you.”
The Uchiha was worried about his lover’s attitude. The Hyuuga used to be so proud and sire of himself, but this injury has taken that away. Neji had been used to taking care of himself. Having to do so was destroying him.
“Hey, I have an idea,” Sasuke said, “Let’s go out to eat tonight and take a walk through the town, I am sure you need to go somewhere else, other than the hospital.”
Neji brightened a little and nodded. “Tsunade said I was getting better at walking,” he said, “But I am sure that I could use a little more exercise.”
Sasuke grinned and kissed Neji softly. “Yeah, and who knows, maybe you will be back sparring with me soon.”



Naruto looked over at Kakashi, who was sitting at his table. “How was Neji while we were gone?” he asked, sitting down with a bowl of ramen.
The Copy Nin thought for a moment. “Unsure,” he said, “he was nervous and unsure of himself, kinda scared me to see him like that.”
The blonde nodded and started to eat. “I heard you had a problem with a Hyuuga member,” he said, “Everything all right?”
Kakashi nodded. “Yeah, They are just trying harder to get Neji back in the compound,” he said, “But, they would have had a fight on their hands.”
Naruto laughed. “Yeah, you and Shika that would have been good to see,” he said, “One hold them still and the other drive them crazy!”
Kakashi grinned and reached up to remove his mask. He dropped it on the table and removed his head band. Mismatched eyes stared at the demon vessel. Naruto stared back at him for a moment and then smiled. “You know I love you, right?” he said.
The Copy Nin nodded. “I love you too.”
“Good, because tomorrow, I don’t think you will be able to walk.”


Neji enjoyed feeling the air on his face as he walked with Sasuke to his favorite restaurant. He was getting around easier with the cane and felt more confident with his lover next to him. “Do you want your usual?’ Sasuke asked softly.
Neji nodded. “I have not been there is such a long time,” he said, “Thanks.”
“All you had to do was ask.”
Ducking his head a little, Neji mumbled something. “What was that?” Sasuke asked.
“I said that I hate having to ask for things,” Neji said a little louder, “I don’t want to have to depend on you.”
“I know, but for now, let me do this for you,” Sasuke said, “I know it is hard, but you have to accept my help and the help of others for a while.”
The long haired brunette nodded mutely. The raven sighed and held onto Neji tighter. “If anything, you should feel honored.”
Neji turned his head towards him. “And why is that?” he asked curiously.
“Because it is not just anyone that the Last Uchiha will wait on.”
Neji started to laugh.
“I knew you would laugh at that,” Sasuke said, “Now, because you look so beautiful laughing like that, I would rather have dinner and get you into our bed.”
Neji blushed a little and nodded his agreement. Seeing the nod, Sasuke pulled the Hyuuga into the restaurant.

As they walked home, Sasuke kept stopping them, pushing Neji against a wall or tree, kissing him passionately. They made it home, stumbling into the hall, barely paying attention to their surroundings. They stumbled their way into the bedroom, not even bothering to turn on a light.
“Sasuke, I love you,” Neji whispered as he was laid on the bed.
“I love you too,” came the whispered reply.
The Hyuuga moaned as he felt a wicked mouth on his neck, hands removing his clothes. He moved his hands along the strong back, trying to pull off the clothing that was separating them.
Sasuke sat up and pulled his shirt off, then removed Neji’s. His mouth descended onto the pale chest and began to kiss and lick its way downward. Neji just relaxed and let himself feel what Sasuke was doing to him. He could feel as Sasuke removed his pants and he gasped when he felt that hot mouth on him.
Sasuke slowly worked a finger into his lover’s body, using his mouth to distract him. Neji moaned loudly when he felt the first finger. When Sasuke added a second, he started to pant, trying to get him to move faster.
After what seemed to be forever, Sasuke removed his fingers and coated his member. He moved up closer to his lover and kissed him gently, while pushing into him slowly. “Sasuke, you had better move faster than that,” Neji gasped, “I am not going to break.”
Sasuke grinned and kissed him again. He pushed the rest of the way in and began to move. Neji gasped again and wrapped one leg around Sasuke’s waist. He held tightly to his lover, his fingers digging into the strong back.
Pale, unseeing eyes glazed over and closed while red, burning eyes tried to memorize everything that they were seeing. They moved together, finding completion together.
Laying beside Neji, still inside of him, Sasuke kissed his neck and whispered to him. “I love you.”
Neji, exhausted, smiled and closed his eyes, falling into a peaceful sleep.
