Chapter 10

Chapter10

Neji squirmed in the clothes. He could hear the loud snickers, accompanied by his boyfriend furiously defending both himself and Neji, outside the door. Sai’s clothes were only a little small. Not enough for him to complain. He just was not used to jeans that fit a little tightly at the top and shirts that would clearly show the muscles they covered. He sighed and adjusted them one last time before leaving the spare bedroom. Kiba managed a low whistle before Naruto jumped the stunning Hyuuga.

"Now now. Please don’t rip my clothes too," Sai teased.

He earned a collective laugh. Even Gaara joined in. Each boy took turns realizing the disheveled state of their own clothing. Naruto released Neji and attached himself to Sai’s leg.

"Make us all pretty Sai-chan!" he whined.

"Okay."

Kiba and Naruto let out a yell, and rushed the door at the same time. They got stuck trying to enter the room together, and a quarrel ensued. Gaara calmly broke them up and led the way inside the bedroom. Sai followed behind the boys and opened the closet in the room for them.

"They are all mine, but I leave them in here in case a friend needs something," he explained as jaws dropped at the sight.

Sai excused himself while the boys changed into presentable clothes. A few opted to shower first. Namely those smelling of old booze and sweat. The others had to step in when Naruto tried to drag Neji in with him. After everyone was changed into tight jeans and assorted shirts, they decided to do lunch. Because it was, in fact, past lunch time. The group found themselves at a diner an hour later, the rich kids complaining about the location loudly. Naruto’s scowl was enough to shut them up and earn the place a chance to impress. The hangovers were dull, but still there. Coffee all around. And everyone found out which place supplied Naruto’s ramen.

Sasuke pulled Sai aside roughly as they started to leave. Sai followed the Uchiha down the side of the diner as the others made plans for the rest of the day.

"You’re either going to tell me what Naruto thinks about me, or help me get him alone," Sasuke ground out.

"Sasuke-kun, Naruto is my friend. I would never do anything to jeopardize his happiness," Sai remained calm against the pressure Sasuke was applying to his arm.

"Goddamnit Sai…. Look, I’m in love with the dobe!"

"Maybe you were too late."

A fist connected with a loud noise. Sai managed to keep a passive expression on his face. Sasuke’s fist stayed in contact with the brick wall behind Sai. Sai gently reached up to touch Sasuke’s hand and lower the fist. He brought the bloody knuckles to his lips and kisses them lightly. When he was done, he smiled to the bewildered man.

"All better?"

Sasuke’s fist connected lightly with Sai’s jaw this time. His face was red.

"Don’t EVER do that again!" he hissed.

Sasuke released him and headed home. He ignored Naruto’s calls and taunts, and left the other men to have their fun. With Sai around, he wanted no part of it. Sai rejoined the group, utterly confused.

"What did you do to him?" Kiba asked.

"I don’t know. He hurt his hand, so I kissed it better. I heard that sort of thing works."

Kiba fell over laughing. He was clutching his sides, searching for air as he laughed. Gaara shook his head sadly at Sai’s confusion. Naruto just grinned.

"You owned him hard, Sai. Now, let’s hit the mall or something. I want ice cream!"

"I think Naruto’s trying to get fat on you," Gaara told Neji.

Neji only sighed, and grabbed Naruto’s hand.

Gaara watched Sai closely. He had not forgotten that he had most likely woken up next to the boy almost naked. It sure had not been Kiba on the bed with him. What bothered him most, was the absence of the urge to kill the man. Surely, if you wake up next to a guy you barely knew in only underwear, something had happened. Gaara doubted he had had sex with the man, but could not be sure nothing else had happened. And Sai had not appeared to be hung-over like the rest. As they wandered through the city, Gaara’s thoughts became more and more disturbing. Sai wasn’t at all unpleasant to look at. In fact, most could call him handsome. Possibly even drop dead sexy at that. How did he look out of those jeans? No. Gaara was straight. Well, he had always assumed he was anyways. He had never really taken an interest in anyone. He had gone through his school days not worried about a relationship. He had had plenty of fan girls, sure. He had just always assumed he would marry a nice girl and have a family one day. One day when he would fixed his mental problems, that is.

Gaara watched the way Sai walked. Those jeans hugged his hips so perfectly. And the way the boy threw his head back when he laughed. Really laughed. Maybe it was just because Sai had accepted him as a person. He had tried to become friends with Gaara. When he had lived with his family, he had been rich. Looks and money. That was all the girls saw in him. But this boy just waltzed into his life and tried to get to know him. Gaara was very confused, to say the least. He spent the better part of the day reminding himself he was straight. And as he watched Sai’s hips sway, he reminded himself again. Night was approaching, and they were being begged to go to another club. Gaara agreed. This time, thing were going to be much different. He decided to find out what it was about Sai that was so intriguing. And that was all going to start with a drink. No, no, not for him. For Sai.
