This Is Only The Beginning

Author's Note: Of Birds Who Fly Free...And Bees Who Make Hunny

The second part of that title was to be the title of the sequel. See, I was going to end it at the last chapter and then right a sequel, but the sequel is so short in chapters that I just decided to make it one story all together. So at the start of this chapter, the story...And Bees Who Make Hunny...begins.

Now...to some of my reviewers, which by the way, I love reviews and thank you everyone for your great comments. ^^

Shiku - The website I mentioned is here at http://www.squidge.org/~minotaur/classic/eroc.html

Rose - Can you believe that's only my second lemon, ever? My first one sucked. It was unimaginitive and awkward. =P And thank you for the comments to my writing style. I'm very happy. ^_^

Chapter Ten_This Is Only The Beginning

It had been two weeks since the night Naruto had shared his bed with Sasuke.

In those two weeks, nothing had changed. Everything had returned to normal for the blonde. Sasuke still kicked him out of bed around six or six-thirty every morning, and breakfast would of course be waiting. They would walk together up until they had to split and go their separate ways for the day. Naruto would train his genin or guide them along during missions, then he’d crash at a bar or hot springs. Every few days, he’d manage to woe a lady home and to his bed, and Sasuke would burn his eggs the next morning as revenge for having to sleep on the couch.

It all seemed perfectly normal, almost like that night had never happened.

And it bugged the hell out of Naruto.

Things were nowhere close to the normal it feigned. First of all, after going through all that trouble and risking his very life, Sasuke was still single and showing no signs of looking to date. This irked Naruto to no end, as he wanted the assurance of knowing Sasuke was ok.

Second, his lust and need had returned full force after his nightly romp with his friend. After breaking off with Hinata, he hadn’t really desired to bring a girl home. Maybe every two weeks or so, but he’d been pretty ok with a more settled and focused lifestyle. But after his tryst with Sasuke, he’d found himself starving. And the worst thing was, he couldn’t seem to sate his hunger. He’d even dared a night with this one girl famous for her dominatrix fetish.

That had been a little scary, actually.

And that brought Naruto to his third problem that caused his otherwise normal life the most pain. His tastes had become extremely picky. Before, if it was pretty and smiling his way, he’d give it a try. Now, all of a sudden, blondes didn’t do it for him. Brunettes were a no go as well, and even the fiery red-heads sparked zero interest in him. No, it had to be black. Black soft hair, long or short mattered not. And dark eyes were a must. He just couldn’t get into the mood if a bright blue or green were gazing back at him.

No, lately all of Naruto’s nightly mistresses had to have these two traits or he just couldn’t get into the motion of things. And this realization really drove Naruto over the edge, because he couldn’t figure out what had happened or what was wrong with him. What had changed? Where was this hunger coming from and why couldn’t he quell it?

His friends were no use, either.

Hinata had thankfully accepted his apologies the day after, as he’d explained to her the reasons behind the posters. She laughed and blushed and assured him things were fine, and they’d had tea while he told her a watered down and highly edited version of the whole story. That had been fun and it still made him smile when he thought about it. Hinata was a really sweet and precious friend.

Neji had been less understanding, and he’d cornered Naruto on the way out and threatened to murder him if a repeat of the incident ever occurred. Thankfully, he’d softened up a few days ago and they were sharing jokes and drinks as friends once again. But Neji couldn’t help him in figuring out his newfound problems.

Kiba had suggested he needed to get laid, and had even jokingly invited him to join Shino and him. This of course didn’t go far, as Kiba had a sake bottle shoved into his mouth and Naruto had received a warning glare from Shino. Yes…Shino was his good friend and all…but that didn’t mean Shino was going to share. Naruto had honestly declined the offer anyway. Lately, he’d had a hard time around couples like them.

He hadn’t visited Iruka-sensei and Kakashi either. He’d run into them at the missions office, and Iruka had visited the apartment to make sure he was ok. But Naruto felt stiff and uncomfortable around the two men, especially when they were together and flirting. Just another thing that bothered Naruto. Why did their relationship make him squirm and feel uncomfortable all of a sudden?

“Seriously?” Lee had exclaimed when Kiba had recounted that day’s events, Lee probably being the only citizen of Konoha to have not known about Naruto’s chase after Sasuke. He’d recently returned from Sunagakure, as he’d taken the role of ambassador for Konoha and spent a lot of time there. “I’m surprised I did not hear of this!”

“Probably because you’re head was to far down in the Kazekage’s lap!” Kiba joked, and everyone had laughed at Lee’s blushing face.

Naruto, however, had not laughed with them. He’d suddenly grown quiet and that uncomfortable feeling returned, a flash of Sasuke’s head in his lap hitting him full force. Naruto had the sudden desire to get out of the bar and get himself some fresh air, and he’d had to leave his confused friends with only a quick apology.

And that had led to today’s events. Naruto had ended up avoiding all his friends and had taken to hiding in a bar on the other side of town, nursing a bottle of sake and mentally tearing apart every thought and feeling as he tried to understand what was going on with him. He hated these feelings! He wanted to be with his friends, to joke and laugh with them and to smile when they talked about their lovers, no matter the gender of that lover.

He wanted Sasuke to come home with a lady or hell, even a man, attached to his arms, telling Naruto with that one sight things would be ok.

No…no, no, no, nevermind that. Naruto frowned unhappily as he suddenly felt sick to his stomach. For some reason the mental image of Sasuke with someone had only made him irritated and his stomach churn.

But wasn’t that what he’d wanted from the start? Naruto let out a frustrated groan and rest his head on his arms with a scowl. He really, honestly didn’t know what was going on with him anymore.
