“Alright so it’s settled.” We have our names and we know where to go. Our final destination is Cloud.” Jack said. Naruto
turned his head to see Sasuke.

The story begins

“Sasuke are you sure you want to go to Cloud?” Naruto said turning to his left.

“Yes I want my brother to tell me everything.” He said with determination.
“Well that’s all good but we can’t go there until everything’s cooled down. We also have to watch out for that snake bastard.” Naruto added while everyone nodded.

Naruto also had something in mind and that was to find his mother. He knew she was out there somewhere. He shook his head and got up,
“Fine now lets get some sleep because tomorrow is another big day.” Naruto said lying on the ground.

Gaara of course volunteered to be lookout since he still couldn’t get used to falling asleep. Naruto had helped him with the seal, so now it was like the Kyuubi’s. (I guess Itachi knew something’s)

Sasuke was already planning on what he would say to his brother that he thought killed his clan until Naruto had convinced him. But he secretly wanted to get stronger then the blonde and his brother, he had a feeling he could do it.

Jack and Sakura wanted to go because one Sasuke and two Naruto interested them and they wanted to get out of the village but mostly because of Sasuke and besides the village thought they were all dead. Hinata of course wanted to go with Naruto and also to become stronger.

The next day came and everyone started to plan out what to do. They needed to have a battle plan when they traveled through the other Countries.

You never know when bandits and other things would come out and try to kill you. But who could think about something like that when you had more important things to do like eating ramen. Yes that’s all Naruto was thinking about right now while everyone else was chatting about what to do next.

“Why do we have to go through the Wave Country?” Asked Jack sitting with his back toward the many trees that surrounded them.
“Because that’s the fastest rout to getting out of Fire Country.” Temari spoke up from above them. She was casually lying on a branch looking down.

“Yeah and I want to see someone that’s there anyway.” Sakura said sitting on a log.

“I think we should take the long way.” Sasuke said looking at the map. “If we go through Wave it would be faster but then we would have to cross the Stone and they aren’t to happy with the Leaf village right now.” He finished.

“We could still go to the Wave and take a longer detour to pass Stone to get to the Cloud village.” Jack said looking over the map also.

“That wouldn’t be wise.” A voice said for there right. Everyone turned around to see Gaara standing by a tree.
The unspoken word indicated that they were listening. Even Naruto who wanted to do nothing but eat ramen.
“You fools. First that path is traveled by a lot of shinobis and we want to try and hide ourselves so we should look at the less active routs.” Gaara said closing his eyes.

“We could go to the Sand village… Then we could cut across the Sound village.” Sakura said slowly. She knew the dangers of that but those paths were hardly ever traveled.

“I don’t like it.” Sasuke said standing up. He then turned towards the blonde. He hated asking things but they needed help on choosing.
“Naruto what do you think.” He said staring at the blonde. Naruto looked up at Sasuke “What?”

“Naruto be serious!” Everyone yelled. Naruto stood up with a hand behind his head grinning but in reality was actually thinking what they should do.

“I believe that we should travel the less used paths. I also believe that it will not matter how much time we have. If we were to go through the Wave Country and cut across from there to the Stone or the Storm Village it wouldn’t matter because either way we would be either on or around the Sound Country.” Naruto said seriously, then he grinned. “But I kind of like the Wave Country.” He said before digging into the ramen that was finally done.

“Hey everyone don’t pay attention to the dobe stuffing his face.” Sasuke said smirking on the look that Naruto gave him.

“Well I say we go to the Sand…” Konkurou started but was cut of.

“No I think we should go to the Wave…” Jack started but he was cut of to.

“We should go to the Stone…” Temari stated.

Meanwhile Naruto was getting pissed off with there lack of corporation. He knew either way that they needed to make up their minds and quick. They were sitting ducks here. Sasuke was thinking on the same lines.

“I… I think we should…” Hinata tried to say but no one was listening. They never listened to her and it was starting to make her really mad. It was like her family all over again.
“I THINK YOU NEED TO SHUT UP AND HAVE A VOTE!” Hinata yelled while standing.

All around the camp was dead silence. They just stared at Hinata dumbfounded. Hinata sat down with her face as red as a tomato. “I’m sorry.” She said quietly.
All of the sudden you could here silent snickering throughout the whole site that turned to full out laughter. Everyone was laughing and Hinata joined in a few minutes later.

“Alright I think that would be a very good idea Hinata chan." Naruto said smiling at her. She just blushed ever more.

1 Hour later

“So it’s settled we go through the Wave.” Sasuke said gathering up his belongings.

“Now that we have our destination.” Naruto said before turning towards Sakura, “Sakura could you get out the hair dye and stuff.” He said.

Sakura did and placed the bottles on the ground. She then turned around thinking she had done a good job but everyone just stared at her.
“Oi Sakura are you serious?” Naruto said irritated. In front of them were four different types green, black, silver and purple.

“Hey don’t look at me! It was the only thing they had on such short notice.” She exclaimed. “Fine but I’m not wearing green nor purple.” Sasuke said garbing the black dye.

“Alright next.” Naruto said looking at Jack who had the contacts. He polled them out and everyone again got a surprise.

“Well you see they really didn’t have any other colors except violet, white, and black.” Jack explained.

“Well I’m not wearing white.” Temari said already heading for black.

2 hours later

“Now that we are finally done lets get a move on.” Naruto said with silver hair that was highlighted with black. His eyes were the normal sky blue. He along with everyone else was wearing a black cloak.

“I think we should find a fishing boat at the next small village so we can cross the water.” Jack said while Sakura nodded.
Jack had black shoulder length hair with violet eyes. While Sakura had to use the purple in her hair with her normal eyes green.

“We should also see how much money we have all together.” Sasuke said. He had black hair with a tinge of silver and normal eyes because of the sharingan.

Naruto nodded while walking up ahead trying not to laugh at the sand siblings and Hinata. You see they ran out of black so they had to use the other ones.

Hinata had green hair with black contacts while Temari had purple with her normal blue eyes. Konkurou had his normal hair black with white eyes. Save to say he looked like he was blind. Gaara on the other hand had silver. He threatened to kill his brother if he used it. He also had the same eyes.

After walking for awhile they finally caught sight of a small village. Naruto held up his arm for the others to stop.
“Take off your forehead protectors so they won’t be to suspicious.” Naruto said putting his in a bag.

They resumed walking again with Naruto and Sasuke in the front followed by Jack and Sakura. Then Temari and Gaara followed by Hinata and Konkurou.
The village itself was pretty small with little houses here and there. The shopping center wasn’t nearly as big as Konoha.

You could see people milling about the area with little kids sometimes running around playing and what not.
Naruto put his hands in his pocket to try and fit in as best he could. He just hoped that everyone else was doing the same. He knew how to do this with the traveling he and Itachi used to do so it was like second nature to him.

“Hey guys how about we take a break. I’m starving,” Jack said.
“Fine with me.” Temari said also looking hunger.
“Lets go over there.” Sakura said pointing at a sign that read “Jumper” In big bold letters.

Sasuke looked at the stupid name before shrugging a shoulder going toward the establishment.

When they got there the place looked like a bar with tables here and there. The walls and floor were wood with pictures hanging around. “Well this is nice.” Sasuke scoffed before sitting at one of the tables in the back.

“Does anyone know where the boats are?” Jack said looking over the menu.
“I think I saw them on the other side of the village.” Sakura said also looking at the book.

Naruto looked at them wondering why they were looking at the menu. The only thing on the damn thing was either soup or raw fish. He then started to look around at their surroundings.

The bartender was talking to a waiter. Then he turned his head and looked at the others in the place. He saw two people on the other side of them eating while another couple was at the front. Naruto was going to turn back when he spotted someone with a clock on that hid their face.

30 minutes later

The group had finished eating and was now heading towards the boats. Sasuke noticed as they passed that people were eyeing them and talking to each other. He didn’t much like the attention and neither did the others.

When they made it to the docks you could tell that this place was pretty poor. The boats looked like they could sink at any time.
“Oi old man.” Naruto shouted before walking up to the guy. He had silver hair with white showing in some spots. His eyes were gray while he wore black and white clothes.

“Naruto that’s rude!” Sakura said walking over apologizing.
“Hey your that guy that helped us before.” Jack said before Sakura could close his mouth.
“Stupid we need to keep our identities a secret.” She hissed.

“Oh yeah I remember you now. You guys helped with the bridge. So what can I do you for.” The guy said.

Naruto just looked at the guy then he turned to see if anyone else knew him.
“What bridge?” Temari said. Sakura looked over but ignored her.

“Please don’t tell anyone else.” Sasuke spoke up.
The old man looked at them before smiling and nodding. “So you want to pass. Well you’re in luck I was just about to leave. Come on then this way.” He said walking over to a fairly large boat that didn’t look to bad.

Naruto walked up and into the boat followed by everyone else and before they knew it they were off towards their next destination. Sasuke looked over the edge of the water as the boat sped along making waves splash along the sides of the boat. He looked to his left and saw Naruto who was not having the time of his life right now. He was hanging over the edge puking.

Sakura was sitting on the floor of the boat with Jack and Temari talking about what they did in the mission. Gaara was no where to be seen but Konkurou was on the other side also having troubles with his lunch. Hinata was talking to the captain.

Naruto felt like shit. The water would come up and splash his face. He hated boats. “Hey dobe you’re pathetic.” Sasuke taunted. Naruto just gave a weak glare looking back down at the water.

That’s when the captain came out with his small crew. “Alright listen up we will be arriving at the Wave Country in about two hours so just sit tight and relax.” He said walking away laughing.

“Relax he says yeah why don’t you relax stupid old man.” Naruto muttered.

Sakura walked up to Sasuke with Temari not far behind. “Sasuke kun where not alone.” Sakura whispered looking out the sea so she didn’t seem suspicious. Temari only nodded.

Sasuke had also got the feeling like they were being followed. He looked at Naruto trying to tell him with his hands but Naruto was too sick to even look at him or he just didn’t care.

“Sakura go tell everyone else you to Temari.” He said quietly putting his hands in his pocket to grab a kunai. He wanted to know why they were following them in the water.

Naruto looked back down when he saw something very interesting. The water was getting choppy and the wind seemed to pick up. Then all of the sudden mist started to roll in. Before you knew it you could hardly see.
“It looks like we have some bad weather.” The captain said walking over towards Naruto.

“Does this always happen?” Naruto asked looking around.
“Yeah especially in the triangle.” He said.
“Triangle?” Sakura said walking up with the others.

The Captain only nodded before he continued. “We usually avoid it but like you said earlier we have to loose however is after us.” He said. Naruto looked up surprised what was he talking about.

“Right now we are passing three islands that have strong currents. That’s also why the mist is so bad. They say that this place is cursed because some people who come here never come out.” He said in a serious tone.

“What are you talking about? Followed? Cursed place where are we.” Naruto said getting impatient.

“You were too sick to notice but we are being followed.” Sasuke said with a smirk on his face.

“What are you smirking for bastard. I’ll kick your ass!” Naruto yelled.

“Naruto shut up! They could still be listening.” Jack said looking around.

“Alright I want Sakura and Hinata towards to the back. Temari you go with them.” Sasuke said, then he turned toward the rest.

“Naruto I want you on the right side, Konkurou and Jack I want you on the other side and I’ll be up front scouting with the sharingan.” Sasuke said while everyone followed the orders.

Gaara on the other hand was no where to be seen again. When everyone got in their positions they waited, looking around for any sign of disturbance.
After awhile Naruto started to get bored he didn’t have anyone to talk to and Sasuke that bastard probably purposely did that to him. Stifling yet another yawn he twirled his kunai.

“Hey Naruto bored?” Jack said walking up to him. Naruto turned and nodded.
“Yeah what do you think? So why are you out here?” Naruto asked trying to make conversation.

“Just taking a break. Temari is watching the other side right now.” He said sitting down on the floor.
“By the way do you know who’s out there? Sasuke said they are still out there but somehow they are avoiding his eyes.” Jack said looking at Naruto.

Naruto turned around “I have a couple of guesses but I don’t know. If they are somehow avoiding Sasukes eyes then we could have trouble.” Naruto muttered look back out only to see more mist.

Then on either side of the ship, the lanterns spontaneously snuffed out, one by one.
The mist-shrouded waters were plunged into darkness.

“I don’t like this,” Naruto muttered, squinting to see over the railing on his side. The mist rose up the side of the hull, chilling his face.
A hand shot out of the mist, caught him by the front of his jacket, and pulled him swiftly over the side.
Naruto plummeted downward into the water before he could even open his mouth.

His descent was accelerated by the strong grip of the arm pulling him. The impact stung his face, but even so he’d had the presence of mind to take a breath as he fell, which was fortunate because his attacker seemed intent on pulling him deep beneath the surface.

Naruto suppressed the very natural instinct to thrash. Instead, with some difficulty he drew a shuriken from its sheath.

Experimentally, he slashed at the arm pulling him, only to find that his weapon glanced harmlessly off some kind of hard-plated armor around the wrist. The pressure of the water around him was making it too difficult for him to slash hard enough to pierce the armor. Also, he now had the shuriken in his hand that he couldn’t drop because it was Itachi’s. That eliminated the option of forming seals for ninjutsu because only one hand was free.

Mind racing furiously, Naruto tried the next best thing he could think of: using the sheer strength reserved for Taijutsu, he took hold of his cloak with hand and teeth and tore it apart. The fabric was ripped asunder in one quick motion, sending clouds of bubbles up from his body.

Now he had only two sleeves and the back half of a cloak, while his attacker had a fistful of shredded cloth.
Immediately, Naruto began to rise toward the surface, finally putting some distance between the enemy.

The sea was too dark for his vision to penetrate, and he hadn’t the foggiest idea of what his attacker looked like. He had only a vague impression of a dark, slender shape rising after him, and of two arms reaching for him, as if to wrap him in an embrace.

Naruto gritted his teeth and slashed outward and downward with both hands, executing a move meant to deflect the grasping arms. His vision wavered . . .
. . .and then the Genjutsu melted away, revealing the truth of the situation.

His enemy was actually pressed close to him, wrapping the arms around him beneath the reach of the Taijutsu strike he’d just employed. There was a wan glow in the water now, originating from somewhere above the surface. In its light, he saw a flash of movement; a gleam of metal. Naruto cursed himself for falling into such a stupid trap. On top of that he still had Itachi’s weapon out.

And then the blades hidden in the enemy’s wrist-armor emerged. He saw them too late in his peripheral vision. In one vicious movement his attacker curled both fists downward, stabbing twin scythes into Naruto’s back.
The pain was immediate and intense; Naruto couldn’t suppress a cry.

With it, he expelled the last of his air supply in an cloud that floated up to the surface. Blood began to swirl outward from him, darkening the water and staining the glow from above.

He inhaled sharply and found himself choking on blood and salty water. Salt stung his eyes, his nose.
In response to the sudden wound, he could feel red chakra beginning to stir in his body. But mere chakra wasn’t enough and the damn curse was starting to throb. The sickle-blades in his back were meant to act as hooks, rendering him unable to break free as the enemy pulled him down. He knew he was close to the surface.

Somehow, he had to break free. . .
Dimly, as he screwed his eyes shut against the pain. Naruto crooked his elbow behind him and slashed upward.

The blow from the shuriken’s razor-sharp edge caught the enemy’s wrists from beneath, where the armor didn’t extend to cover flesh.
In the confusion that followed, Naruto no longer cared what became of his attacker. His single priority was air. The instant the blow struck home he felt the blades in his back loosen their hold, and somehow he was finally able to thrash his way free of the enemy’s grip.

His final rise to the surface seemed like an eternity. His boots and clothing weighed him down. He tore the remainder of the cloak from his back, and with it the blades fell away free. He didn’t bother trying to retrieve them. They sank into the dark depths, along with the boots he’d just kicked off, while his head finally broke the surface. He drew in a gasp, shaking his head to clear the water from his eyes and nose.

The ship was now nearly fifty feet away.
Squinting at it as he treaded water and caught his breath, Naruto could make out the shapes of what looked like a whole host of men crowded onto the deck. All were locked in combat.

He couldn’t see clearly, but it looked like there were more people fighting than just his team. It was hard to tell, the lanterns were extinguished, and the only current illumination was provided by flashes of white light. It looked like Sasuke was using that Chidori.
“Shit,” he breathed. If he was using Chidori, things were getting serious. Well there goes the element of surprise, he thought bitterly.

Taking advantage of the red chakra circulating through him now, Naruto drew some of it down into his feet and rose to run along the surface toward the ship. His eyes were trained on the battle ahead, he never saw the shadow gliding swiftly after him beneath the water.

“Sasuke stop!” Sakura shouted. Gritting his teeth, Sasuke allowed the electricity in his palm to dispel, crackling as it vanished into thin air. There was something profoundly unpleasant about having to call back Chidori, akin to holding himself shut inside. The excitement of it brought crimson to his eyes; made him want to raze down every enemy standing in his way with lightning.

But he knew Sakura was right, and he wasn’t stupid. If he used it to much the seal could open again.
He briefly wondered if Naruto had the same problem with the chakra.
Now that he thought of it . . .

“Where IS Naruto?” Sakura asked him. She had just managed to fight her way to her teammates’ side. She looked shaken and very pale. In the gleam of his dying Chidori, Sasuke noticed that she carried her kunai, and that there was a good deal of blood slathered across the blade.

“How the hell should I know?” he snapped, forced to retreat several steps until he was back-to-back with Jack. A new opponent had just appeared in front of him, slashing at his face with what looked to be very long finger-blades stained with poison.

“That dobe can take care of himself!” He’d been wondering the same thing, however. He couldn’t see Naruto anywhere on board.

Drawing his shuriken in a flash, Sasuke launched himself forward again, slicing low across the stomach of his opponent. Instead of a spurt of hot blood, he suddenly found himself drenched with salt water.
“Water clones,” he muttered, spinning on one foot to regain his balance after the lunge. “But where’s the real one?”

Another materialized beside him, having just scuttled spider-like over the side of the hull. However many there were in the water waiting to board after him, Sasuke had no idea. His Sharingan eyes couldn’t pierce through fog and he also couldn’t have the damn thing on for to long.

“Forget the one using the Bunshin, Sasuke,” Temari said sharply, running up towards him slicing another of the Bunshin in half with her fan. “I’ll worry about them. Find Naruto. We need to get off the ship soon.”

Sasuke gritted his teeth, landing a punch to his own opponent’s head that sent the man sprawling onto the deck. Water splashed every which way as the Bunshin dispelled. Then, with the way suddenly cleared, he launched himself forward. All the while he was cursing Naruto in his head; his comrades and the one remaining lantern were all at the ship’s fore-front, and Temari was sending him aft, into the fog rolling in with the darkness. He wondered briefly why he even listened to her.

It was only a journey of thirty feet or so, but Sasuke soon found himself blinder than he had been during their run through the Fire Country’s forests. . .and considerably more confused. He saw no sign of Naruto, but soon found himself confronted with an enemy no matter what direction he turned.
‘Just how many of them ARE there?’ he wondered, with deep misgivings. His sharp intuition told him that this was a confusion tactic, and a good one. The enemy was using a combination of Bunshin and fog to disorient them. The question was why? Who were they and why woud they be attacking them. Wait were they trying to split up the GROUP!

The ship was also beginning to rock back and forth, which made no sense because the waters through which they were sailing had been still. He had no idea what this sudden choppiness meant, but he severely doubted it was a good thing.

There also seemed to be more shinobi fighting off the attackers than Sasuke remembered. Sasuke, however, didn’t have time to dwell on the mystery of this. He had reached the stern bow of the ship, but he still couldn’t see a damn thing. The sly caress of cold mist and sea-spray on his cheeks was beginning to annoy him. He could hear Sakura and Jack fighting in the background along with Hinata trying to use her eyes. And for a minute he could off sworn he saw sand but it was to dark. Heck he didn’t even know where the sand siblings were.

Drawing chakra into his lungs, he formed a seal, heaved a great breath, and exhaled fire.
A brilliant helix of flame spiraled out over the water behind the ship, cutting through the gray darkness and banishing the fog from its immediate vicinity. In the light of this sudden illumination, he saw Naruto running barefoot toward the ship, splashing softly as he moved. He also noticed another, more curious thing. The water seemed to be naturally choppy. Somehow, the helmsman had steered the ship into a place where the ocean current was rougher. . .or the enemy had somehow maneuvered the ship for them. . . The latter seemed more likely, to the end of using the turbulent motion to disorient them aboard.

However, this particular problem was not important right now, no it was what was behind Naruto. A dark shape moved beneath the water, gliding swift and silent after the oblivious blond. Something that this figure carried with it as it moved was glowing an ominous, fiery red.

“SASUKE teme!” Naruto called loudly, running for the boat.

“Run FASTER, you DUMB SHIT!” Sasuke shouted back at him.
And Naruto, being Naruto, actually slowed down to glance back over his shoulder.
“WHAT! WHAT! Is it a SHAR. . .”

At that instant, the very last flames from Sasuke’s jutsu dispelled. A split second later, the explosion came.
