A bond thicker than blood

Well I must say getting 2 chapters out today as well isn’t bad, I really like this chapter, hope I am not sugar coating it to much though. Tell me what you think.

Leila: hehe yeah things aren’t turning out to shabby in this one either. Yeah I wouldn’t mind having you as a beta reader of your feeling up for it. dunno who it work mind you so, but oh well cross that bridge when we get to it. Yeah I like giving out a chapter or 2 a day cous it makes it more like a series of some sort.

Hypergraphian: Thank you for pointing that out went and did it as soon as you mentioned it so it should be fixed now, considering naming the chapters but still having trouble putting titles on them. And thank you for offering to beta read for me but if Leila wants to take it I’ll give it to her, sorry don’t want to offend any one, I always feel so mean when I have to turn people down, not that that happen very often. But I am very glad you liked it so far, all though am responding on chapter 11, but if you read further a I hope you will you’ll get the message sooner or later =)

Chapter 11

Sasuke and Naruto arrived at the small festival around 4 pm, it was lively place and people were wearing their yukata. Naruto’s eyes were shining with enthusiasm as he looked around, Sasuke was surprised but in a good way and became eager to look around although he was better to hide his eagerness. In the small place around the temple there were several stands selling different things, some were filled with food and some with masks and other traditional Japanese things and there were also stalls with games where you could win small prices. Sasuke looked up and noticed small lanterns hanging from the trees and over the path with the stalls on it, they were all light but seeing as it was till 4 pm the light really didn’t show. “Mommy, look here” Sasuke looked at a small kid who couldn’t be more that 5 resembling Naruto at that age, he pointed at a mask that looked like a fox and begged his mother to buy it for him. He had to smile and his thought of the past was interrupted by Naruto “Sasuke, come here” the blond stood by the stall selling small Kushidango dumplings* on a skewers, “look” Naruto held up a small box with 3 of the Kushidango dumpling skewers “want one?” he asked already eating one. The dark haired boy nodded at picked the top spear, it was sweet almost too sweet for Sasuke’s taste however since Naruto had made an effort of buying them he would eat at least one spear making a mental note to himself to tell Naruto that he wasn’t to fond of sweet things. “Oh Sasuke look” Naruto ran towards the stall where the little kid had persuaded his mother to buy him a fox mask, “look” the blond pointed at a read fox mask and his blue eyes was shining with love for it, Sasuke had to smile and got the attention of the person selling them pointing at the fox mask. “750 yen” the woman said as she held up the mask, Sasuke took it and handed her the money, and the woman smiled and thanked him. Naruto attention span was a bit short and he had taken his eyes away from the mask to busy paying attention to what was going on around him, “hey dobe” the blond boy turned around starring right in to the fox mask. “Sasuke, you didn’t have to!” he burst out but the dark haired boy could see the flicker of excitement in his blue eyes knowing that the mask would be given to him. Sasuke put the mask on Naruto’s head and smiled “remember when we were like 7 and we were asked what our favourite animal was” Naruto looked as Sasuke continued “you said your favourite animal was a fox although” Sasuke was interrupted “although a wolf would probably my second choice since it was Sasuke’s favourite animal” Naruto finished the dark haired boy’s sentence. The blond boy was surprised that Sasuke still remembered that, Naruto also remembered what kind of fuss that had made in the class, all the girls had stated that they liked the wolf more than him in order to get on Sasukes good side. He had to laugh of the silly things they did when they were small.


They continued down the path going from one side of the path to the other looking at every stall, buying all sorts of sweets Naruto wanted and he kept offering them to Sasuke he had to tell the blond boy that he really didn’t like sweets that much, the only sweet he could tolerate was the traditional Japanese Dorayaki cake. The time had passed so quickly and Sasuke looked at his phone and noticed it was ten to nine, Naruto had run off with some small kids playing games. Sasuke was watching the blond boy with ease, he was still curious of what and who had caused Naruto so much pain, well he did know who his uncle, just not who this uncle was. Suddenly Naruto came up to him and plumped himself next to him exhausted, “ne teme” Sasuke smiled still watching the kids playing, it had been a while since Naruto has called him that “I’m hungry want to get some dinner?” the blond put his hand on his stomach rubbing it “sure, want to get some ramen?” the dark haired boy asked as he stood up reaching his hand out to Naruto, who gladly took it felling himself getting pulled back up to his feet.

After they had eaten ramen which amazingly the blond had manage to eat two portions of, they went to all the different gaming stalls. First they tried the rings which didn’t turn out to well, Naruto had stood and made fun of him as he missed every bottle tube but they had enjoyed themselves. After a couple of tries they had moved on to ball tossing which Naruto had won a small teddy bear, but he had given it to the brown haired kid standing next to him as he had eyed the teddy for so long and almost begun to cry when the blond had won it. Naruto had smiled at him saying he had won it for him, which put a smile on the entire boy’s face and when the blond boy had spotted the fish for a gold fish he had grabbed Sasuke’s arm and dragged him with him, almost making Sasuke trip as he was caught off guard. “All right, let’s get a couple of gold fishes. One for each, ne?” the blond boy said as he bent down watching people trying and failing and envying those who succeeded. Sasuke bent don next to Naruto joining him watching people, “hey mister how much for a go?” Naruto asked after watching a couple of more people, “500 yen” the old man answered handing a small kid a round spoon of some sort which had thin paper covering the opening, it would break easily if the fish moved to much so it was all about skills if one should have any luck of catching a fish. Naruto handed the old man a 500 yen and received his spoon, he sat down in front of the small fishpond. He sat there for about a minute before Sasuke was wondering what he was doing “dobe aren’t you going to try?” he asked “shh, just need to find the right fish teme” the blond responded not taking his eyes of the pond, the dark haired boy laughed and watched Naruto who looked deep in concentration. “The found him” Naruto pointed a small gold fish which were red but had a black coloured head and some black spots on its back, it stuck out from the crowd because it was different and Sasuke think that’s why he wanted it so badly, it reminded him of himself. “No” the blond moaned as the paper broke, he handed the man another 500 yen for a second go. After about 5 minutes and 10 tries Naruto was still not managing to catch the goldfish, much to his frustration so the dark haired boy gave the old man 500 yen and picked up a spoon thing sitting next to Naruto who was pouting. With just one go Sasuke manage to catch the gold fish and the blond was till pouting but this time it was because Sasuke had manage to catch the fish he didn’t, the dark haired boy received the goldfish in a bag with water and they began walking down the path which ended at the temple stairs, “how did you manage to catch it?” he finally asked eyeing the goldfish, Sasuke could see that he wanted it. “It takes skills dobe?” he said with laughter in his voice holding the goldfish in front of Naruto’s face. The blond gave him the ‘for me look’ and he nodded, he took the small bag form Sasuke’s grip and smiled from ear to ear. Again Sasuke had to laughed a little of how easy it took to make Naruto smile. “Oh yeah forgot to tell you, they have fireworks here at 12” they both sat down at the top of the temple stairs looking out in to the small festival light up by the lanterns. Sasuke looked at his watch “5 minutes” he said, Naruto wasn’t making a sound. He was sitting thinking about how good this day had been and how he wished that it would never end, “Momochi once told me that these fireworks were special” he said breaking the silence “why?” the dark haired boy asked “he said that if you kissed the person you love when the first firework goes off in the sky they would be together for ever.” Naruto didn’t look at Sasuke but he could see that the blond was blushing, they had never spoken about their feelings about each other but he knew that there were something there, Naruto must have noticed it too or else he would let Sasuke have held him through the night. “Naruto?” Sasuke was using his name again and he loved the way the dark haired boy said his name. The blond boy turned his face to Sasuke’s, their eyes met and there was a complete silence. The dark haired boy swallowed nervously before opening his mouth “can I kiss you?” Thrown off guard by the question the blond boy didn’t remove his eyes from the boy sitting next to him, the blond boy swallowed before giving a slight nod indicating it was okey. Their heads moved slowly towards each other and just as their lips met for what felt like the first time a rocket exploded in the air colouring the sky with red and blue.

Well I just had to finish this chapter tonight since I was having the idea fresh in my head, hope you liked their first “date.” I am going to go to bed now cous I am really tired from work and have to get up at 5 am tomorrow as well. see you around for the next chapter.
