Closed Door Opened Window

KuraiKisu: * chews on a pencil as she listens to Kool in the Gang- Hollywood Swinging * Hmmmm I get bored easily so um...... I thought I would push this chapter into the last two months of the pregnancy plus the ol school has me kinda chipper. I wrote the other chapter while listening between Queen, Earth Wind and Fire, Aluto and Maceo so I try to go with the flow. No worries though I am going to put a recap of what happened after the black out.

Chapter 10: Arrival and Adoption


It had been another two months and Menma was back in the hospital, thankfully this time for better reasons. He leaned back in the chair as he waited in the lobby of the maternity ward. His mind drifted off to his last trip when he spent some time in the E.R. Section.

* Flashback 2 Months ago *

Menma slowly opened his eyes, his vision was blurry but he could make out that he was in a white room with someone hovering over him. He blinked several times as his vision became a little clearer. Looking around he realized he wasn't in a room rather he was in the back of an ambulance. His eyes got huge he tried to get up but something was holding him down.

“Where....where am I” His voice was nothing more than a whisper but the familiar blond doctor moved over his face. She smiled at him as she pushed his long blond bangs from his paler than usual face.

“Its ok you're in the ambulance. You were shot but it was just a flesh wound... You should go back to sleep, we're almost there.”

He smiled weakly, there were at least a hundred questions and thoughts bouncing in his head but he couldn't focus on anything as the darkness once more embraced his body. When he opened his eyes again he was in a hospital bed. Groggily he tried to sit up but this time there was a wet pressure on his abdomen. He looked down to see bright blond spikes. Menma reached his hand down and stroked the soft spikes. The other blond tensed and his head snapped up looking at Menma.

“Menma?” His voice was wracked with worry. Shaky hands reached hesitantly towards Menma's face to stroke the smooth cheek. Menma nodded towards him his face leaning into the stroke. Suddenly his whole body was forced back by the weight of Naruto's body. (A/N: Just off subject I LOVE THIS DAMN SONG BY Chrisette Michele- All My Life I think it will have a place somewhere in the last chapter :3)

“ITAI!!!!!!!!!!” screamed a crushed Menma. Naruto sat up immediately and apologized, he leaned down and kissed the bandages that wrapped around the wound. Menma smiled and gently embraced his worried lover.

“Its ok I'm just a little sore.....What happened? Did Shin get away again???” He asked his voice raising as he began to ask question after question. Naruto grinned at him and put his hand over his mouth. He leaned down and captured Menma's soft lips into a tender kiss before sitting back on his legs as he made himself comfortable on the bed.

“I'm so so sorry I shot you last nite “ He choked on the words his head drooping so his bangs covered his eyes. Menma reached for his face, he could feel the other blond shake with sobs. His heart clenched seeing how bad Naruto felt about hurting him. Slowly he lifted the boy's face and smiled showing he wasn't upset and understood that he didn't mean to do it.

“Koi please don't blame yourself... I took the chance to make sure he didn't hurt anyone. It was me who did that not you” He smiled trying to reassure the boy. Naruto nodded slowly his guilt very slowly sliding away. “Now like I asked before did Shin get away?” He looked straight into Naruto's face wondering if his eyes could give him some kind of answer.

“No, the bullet went straight through you and punctured his lung...... He died shortly after the ambulance arrived. All those guys he brought with him were arrested as well. Some actually squealed seeing as Shin won't be there to exact revenge.”

“Did anyone else get hurt?”

“Well I accidentally grazed Ino but shes ok it wasn't much of anything but a scratch. Everyone else are fine.” Naruto finally smiled slowly lowering his body next to Menma, enjoying the warmth that the two bodies were creating.

*End of Flashback*

Menma's eyes slowly closed only to spring open when Tsunade came through the door smiling down at the blond man.

“Come on gaki lets go see your new daughter” She said smiling as she pointed to the door. Menma nodded nervously, getting up from the chair and walking behind her. He would have been in the operation room with Naruto but for two reasons. One Naruto almost broke his hand and two once he saw the blood he passed out right there on the floor. He walked down the hall with Tsunade remembering how just 10 hours ago he was at home with Naruto running a muck to get everything the boy needed for the trip to the hospital.

Flashback 10 Hours ago *

“MEEEENNNMMMAAA!!!” Naruto was frantic in the bedroom doorway his hands wrapped around the bottom of his huge belly. His eyes were focused down on the floor where a puddle had recently formed. The sound of running footsteps were heard almost immediately with a slight pause for a yelping dog and a curse as said dog bit the pale boy. Menma hopped the rest of the way to the doorway holding his leg. He looked up at Naruto nothing but fear and worry in his eyes.

“What! WHATS WRONG?? IS IT TIME???” He asked franticly his leg quickly being forgotten. Naruto looked up and nodded pointing down at the puddle.

“My water just broke...”

“Oh Kami , oh kami, oh kami!!!” Menma tried hard to run in two directions at once but instead looked like he was doing some strange dance. Finally he ran to the phone and dialed Sakura's number. The pink haired girl had served to be a great asset during Naruto's pregnancy and she most likely would be able to alert all the right people. Having made the call Menma rushed around the house grabbing his keys to the car he had recently purchased to help the small newly formed family. He slipped in the puddle on the floor and landed on his back cursing.

Naruto was busy packing a bag when he heard the front door slam shut and a car start up. He rushed to his cell and called Menma immediately. Menma answered on the first ring yelling into the phone.

“YES WHOSE THIS WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!?!”

“Um... Did you forget something?” Naruto asked in a calm voice.

“NO I HAVE EVERYTHING WHY? WHO IS THIS ANYWAYS???”

“Look next to you...” Naruto replied as calmly as he could. Menma looked to his side to see Pakkun looking up at him as though he was the idiot of the year.

“Bark...” Was the only response from the still miffed dog.

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH” Was the response as the phone was hung up and the car made an u-turn that not even dare devils would attempt. In just about 10 seconds the sound of tires skidding and running footsteps were heard outside the front door. Menma burst through the door holding Pakkun in the air like a football ready to throw him. Pakkun had other thoughts though.

'Oh no you don't tonchiki' thought the dog as he bit down on Menma's hand. Menma paused for a minute till the pain registered in his head.

“GOOOOTTTT DAMMIT!!!!” He screamed waving his hand in the air trying to detach the dog from his hand for the next 5 minutes till he heard Naruto groan in the bedroom. He once again forgot his pain as he ran into the bedroom, slipping and falling once again into the same puddle that still hadn't been cleaned up, grabbed Naruto's hand with his free hand and ran back out the door. Thankfully Naruto grabbed his bags as he was dragged out the door. Menma climbed into the drivers sit and sped off again into the the direction of the hospital with the damn dog still attached to his hand. Naruto looked weirdly at his mate and grinned.

“Lemme help you with that.” He said moving his hands over to the dog and pulling it off Menma's hand. Menma was too freaked to notice. He reached the hospital, which was “suppose” to be a 30 minute ride, in 10 minutes. Once again tires skidded as he flung the door open and grabbed Naruto's hand and led him into the Maternity Ward. Pakkun being the smart dog he was managed to close the doors of the car and follow his strange temporary masters. The dog couldn't wait to go back home to Kakashi it was less stressful there being a police dog.

Tsunade was there to greet the two and quickly whisked them to the O.R.

End of Flashback *

Menma entered the room and was about to walk toward the bed where all of his friends were surrounding the new parent (A/N: I am NOT gonna even try to figure out if he is a mother or father) but before he could get close enough a large pair of eyebrows attached to HUGE eyes sprung in front of him almost making him fall back out the door he just came through.

“AH MENMA-KUN MY FRIEND YOU MISSED THE BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS THAT WERE THE BEING OF A YOUTHFUL BEGINNING!! LUCKILY I HAVE CAPTURED THIS SPRINGTIME OF YOUTH ON TAPE!!!!” Lee declared as he took another step forward to show Menma. However, someone had spilled some water earlier and once again no one bothered to clean it causing Lee to fall forward. Lee's head collided into Menma's knocking both boys out cold onto the floor.

When Menma woke up he found himself once again in a hospital bed with bandages on his forehead, hand, and leg. He looked over to his left to find Naruto and Lee in adjacent beds. Lee was ranting his apologies and how their youthful health would withstand this. That was until Sakura shut him up with a kiss. Tsunade and the rest shook their heads at the strange energy induced boy before she moved over to Menma with some paper's in her hands.

“Here gaki you need to sign these so Mikoto will be yours officially!” Menma was in shock hearing this he looked over to Naruto who was holding the sleeping girl. Naruto nodded to him letting Menma know this was what he wanted. The two blonds had been through so much in such a short time and the fact that they stood by each other no matter what was proof enough that Naruto wanted Menma in his and Mikoto's life for better or worse. Naruto even revealed his past about his parents without any hesitation, thats how deep their love had become.

Menma smiled brightly almost outdoing his loving mate's grin as he grabbed the pen and signed his name at the bottom making the adoption official. He was now one of Mikoto's legal guardians. The others seeing the papers signed cheered for the new family and moved the two beds together. Lee stood up on his bed throwing his fist in the air cheering the loudest.

“YOUTHFUL LOVE PREVAILS ALL!!!” He yelled before being knocked down by his now very embarrassed girlfriend. Everyone laughed all but the couple who were too busy holding the small bundle in their arms. Both leaning their heads together so they could smile down at the little girl grinning back up at them. She had the same blond hair as her mother. (A/N: I dunno) and the darkest ebony eyes just like her biological father. Her skin was slightly lighter than Naruto's but darker than Sasuke's which made Naruto's heart clench when her saw her for the first time. He missed Sasuke so much but with Menma by his side he could at least make sure that part of Sasuke would live on happily.

Menma cooed at the baby moving his fingers down the baby's round cheek. Mikoto grabbed onto his finger and squealed flailing her other arms and kicking her little legs all about. The couple laughed as everyone awed at the adorable sight. Menma looked up into Naruto's eyes and kissed him. The kissed oozed of love and adoration, it had unspoken promises of a lifetime of love ahead of them.

“I love you Koi” Menma purred to Naruto. Naruto blushed and looked back into loving grey eyes.

“I love you too” He responded leaning his forehead onto Menma's.


KuraiKisu: * wipes her eyes* TOO CUTE. I didn't think I had it in me even if Yumeko-sama and her mate keep calling me the female Gaara. LOOK! Just cause my hair is dyed red , threaten to kill at least 2 people a day, and don't sleep does NOT mean I am a female Gaara! I don't even like sand that much. Hmph! Oh before I forget I am gonna try my hand at another Lemon in the FINAL chapter which is the next one because I'm lazy and this has taken a bit outta me. If anyone would like another story from me let me know.... I usually prefer to just read and correct certain things in my head but I will write again for you guys if you want.
