Chapter 11, thank god that's over!!
A/N: It's the final chapter! I really do write better than this. I can't really explain why Temari is out for 2 days. It can happen in extreme cases of insomnia, when sedated the body takes over and you sleep until your body determines it's rested. I've seen it first hand.

Chapter 11
Shikamaru opened the roof access door and almost had a heart attack. Temari was leaning over the edge of the building, like she was trying to find something. Except her eyes were half closed. Fuck! She's asleep. Goddamnit, he thought to himself, as he calmly walked over to where she was. When he was within range he caught her with the kagename no jutsu and walked her away from the edge. Once they were in the middle of the roof top he released her and touched her arm.
He jumped slightly when she slapped his hand away. He looked at her face, she was out of it. He could hear her mumbling incoherently. He grabbed her shoulder and shook her yelling her name, and that's when she stared screaming.
He got a kunai and paper bomb out of his pouch. He wrapped the paper bomb around the knife and summoned his chakra to his right arm. He threw the kunai straight up and the detonated it when it was far enough up that it wouldn't harm anyone. That was sure to attract attention, he thought, catching Temari in the jutsu once again.
When the two ANBU soldiers showed up, Shikamaru quickly filled them in on the situation. Once she was restrained and sedated, he released the Shadow Possession. The ANBU closest to him called his name and he turned to look at the dog-masked ninja.
The white-haired ninja flipped his mask up and said, "We'll take care of her and get her to the hospital."
Heh, Hatake Kakashi, he thought. He'd heard somewhere he'd went back to ANBU. He followed them from rooftop to rooftop until they landed in front of the hospital.

I tried to sit up but couldn't, my arms and legs felt like dead weight. I couldn't identify my surroundings. Am I dead? I didn't know for sure. I looked to my right and then left, I couldn't see anyone or anything. I could hear muffled sounds that I couldn't quite make out. Suddenly I knew I wasn't alone anymore.
"Ah, my dear Temari, you came after all."
Not again, I thought, closing my eyes. Maybe if I ignored him, he would go away.
"Temari dear, don't you want to know why I'm here?" he said stepping closer to her.
"You're not really here, you're not real, I'm not insane," I repeated over and over.
He chuckled, a deep resonating sound that I could feel in my bones. "You sound as though you are trying to convince yourself. Consider this, maybe you are the one who isn't real."
"What?!?" I asked, struggling to sit up.
"You came here, I didn't come to you. I belong here, not you. So my dear, tell me why you are here. You come every night, yet you never say why you come. Is it your brother? I know what happened." He laughed at my startled expression. "It's terribly boring here. We watch you guys to pass time."
I was now able to sit up. I looked around. I could make out figures in the shadows, but they stayed back. My heart pounded in my chest. "I don't know why I'm here! Please, I really don't know!" I cried out to him.
"Temari, you can't stay here, you must go back. Only you can answer you questions. You have indecision in your heart, that's normal. Go now," he said slowly receding into the shadows. "Go to him and be happy. Suna will always be you true home, your place is with the one you chose. Make a life with him and remember us in your heart."
The figures faded into nothingness and I could hear a voice pleading with me. I closed my eyes.

Shikamaru wouldn't leave her side. He didn't want her to wake up and him not be there. Asuma came by and played a few games of shogi with him. Naruto and Hinata stopped by and tried to convince him to come to with them to get ramen. He refused, so they brought him take out instead. Sakura, his mom, Shizune and finally Tsunade came to convince him to get out for a while.
It had been a day and a half and there was still no change in her condition. He brushed her bangs away from her face and kissed her forehead. His eyes burned from lack of sleep. He held her hand and begged her to come back to him.
Ino came by with flowers and chatted about nothing. Chouji brought him a few meals, Sakura threatened to knock him out and put him in a bed. But in the end they all left him alone. He pulled the chair closer to the bed and laid his head on the bed. His eyelids felt like they were weighted. Eventually he drifted off to sleep.
About halfway through the second day he was awakened by a hand on his face. He opened his eyes and saw her looking down at him.
"Hey sexy man," she whispered, her throat dry and raw, "Who do I hafta kill to get some water around here?"
