This Is Far From Over

Chapter Eleven_This Is Far From Over

Kakashi whistled softly and walked along the edge of the top of Hokage Mountain. He had arrived there for a purpose, other then momentarily escaping his office and paperwork. He paused in mid-step and smiled cheerfully, spotting the reason for his flight. Settled under the shade of one of the carved spikes of the Yondaime’s hair was a dark man wearing a dark expression.

Kakashi easily leapt down to the spot next to him and took a seat, still wearing that cheerful smile. “My, my, Sasuke. How long do you plan on moping around up here?”

“Hokage-sama…” Sasuke sighed, glancing sideways at the man in irritation. “What do you want?”

“Awe…come on, Sasuke-kun. Call me Kakashi. I used to be your most favorite teacher, remember?” Kakashi pointed out and started continuously poking Sasuke in the side of the head with a finger.

Sasuke took the abuse for the first ten pokes before his eye twitched in annoyance and his hand shot up, catching Kakashi’s and stopping the damn poking. “Fine, fine…Kakashi. And who ever said that?”

“Gaaah! You’re so cruel,” Kakashi whined, then leaned back against the stone with a more relaxed attitude. “Though I suppose the favorite teacher would be…oh…a certain loud-mouth blonde?”

Sasuke said nothing to that, though his cheeks reddened a faint bit and his scowl darkened.

“I heard Naruto’s returned to his old habits again, and at a surprising rate,” Kakashi noted, turning a little more serious.

“It would seem so…” Sasuke bitterly agreed.

There was silence to follow their exchanged, and it seemed to expand and thin out. Finally, Kakashi sighed and hung his head. He kept prodding and prodding…

“All right. Since I can’t get you to come and talk to me, I’ll simply bug you into telling me what’s happening,” Kakashi declared.

“If you like,” Sasuke dared him with a dulled tone, unperturbed.

Kakashi frowned, fixing Sasuke with a pointed look. “What went wrong? You’ve been belly-aching over Naruto since puberty, if not before that. Are you seriously telling me that you’re content with just that? A taste?”

“Just shut up,” Sasuke snapped irritably, annoyed by what the other said. He hated how easily Kakashi read him.

“Ah, the great Uchiha. Last of his kind and a one-night stand,” Kakashi continued to push at the others buttons.

“I said shut up! I am not a one-night stand!” Sasuke almost shouted at him in rage, looking right at Kakashi that time.

Kakashi only smiled and sat back again.

Sasuke scowled, scratching his hair furiously in irritation. “Fine! It’s just…He’s such a stupid bastard! We didn’t even kiss! Not once on the lips!”

Kakashi was quiet for a little bit, letting Sasuke’s words linger before drifting away in the breeze.

Finally, he shifted a little and broke the silence. “Well…of course not. Kissing is for lovers. Not two friends messing around.”

Sasuke shot him a glare and growled slightly, obviously displeased by that comment. “Well, maybe I wanted to kiss.”

Kakashi ignored the threat and focused on the almost pouting statement. He tucked his arms behind his head, looking up at the clouds that darkened with the setting sun.

“I see. Then why didn’t you?” Kakashi asked, but only got silence as an answer. He frowned and looked at the other, raising an eyebrow. “Did you even say anything?”

“Tch…” Sasuke just grit his teeth in annoyance and looked elsewhere, hand gripping his propped up knee.

“You know…I don’t really get you sometimes. You’ll betray your village, cut away your bonds, and put your life on the line to fulfill your duties. And yet you take such a submissive stand when it comes to your own desires,” Kakashi mused, glancing at the stoic man. “If it bothers you, take action. Show some of that cruel possession I know you’re capable of. That darker side deep down. Let Naruto know who he belongs to and what won’t be tolerated any longer. Drive it through the blonde’s head just what kind of relationship you intend to take from him.”

“After all, this is Naruto we’re talking about. He never had a family and he learned about love through a man that spent his time on hookers and porn. No one told him about sexuality and no one explained to him about relationships. I mean…he still thinks his love for you is brotherly! I doubt he really understands what that is. I don’t mean to sound unkind, just truthful. Now that he’s taught you sex, step forward and teach him vows.”

Kakashi finished and eyed Sasuke, wondering if the man had listened to even a word of his speech.

“Hn…” Sasuke grunted after a long moment of silence. He stood with his back to Kakashi, and without even glancing back, took off for home.

Kakashi frowned and stretched out on Yondaime’s head, staring up at the sky again in exasperation. “Geez…A Hokage’s work is never finished, is it?”

He stared up at the clouds a little longer, knowing he’d need to get back before someone realized he’d vanished. Still…he felt like giving someone a piece of his mind.

“You know, you’re a real ass for leaving them to me, sensei. Specially that son of yours.”

Kakashi warmed at the memory of Minato’s smiling face and closed his eyes, chuckling softly. Yes, he was pretty sure the bastard knew his son would cause loads of trouble to his old friends. His only solace was in the fact that Minato was probably rolling in his grave over this entire homosexual ordeal. But then again, Minato had been just as easy-going and open as Naruto was now. Hell, he was probably up there playing dice with Itachi, both of them cackling and sharing a glass of sake over poor Kakashi as he tried to deal with the horny children they’d left behind.

“You both owe me a damn drink when I get there, you hear me!” Kakashi declared, pointing a finger at the sky before proceeded to bang the carved stone head of his former sensei a few times with his fist. “Bastards…”

And Kakashi smiled once again.
