Hidden Love

"Sakura-chan would kill me if I did not ask her to it," Lee stated simply then sighed a little realizing, he really did not want to go to the dance with Sakura. She would just comment on anything he did wrong and make him feel bad the whole night.

"Riku hates those things...he got really pissed off at last years dance since I had gone with Naruto...you know just friends going together." Gaara said and turned his head to look at Lee blinking when he noticed he looked a little stressed again. "Hey..remember when we were little and you used to find the oddest songs for us to listen to..why don't you try and find one on the radio."

"Oh well, you are lucky that Riku does not like dances.." Lee muttered out then grabbed a CD and put it in. "I do not have to find one on the radio I made a CD," Lee told him with a wide grin and waited for the song to load.

"Yeah he gets headaches at them.." Gaara said and titled his head looking out the window. "Oh god...am I gonna be scared?" He asked and rolled down the window and slide off his hat.

"Hmm maybe.." Lee said then blushed a little glancing over at Gaara and suddenly his thoughts of before hit him again and he gulped looking away quickly. All of a sudden the song Gummy Bear started playing on the radio, the German version at that.

Gaara was silent for a minute before he turned and looked at his friend. "Lee your so weird!" He said laughing hard and playfully hit his shoulder. It had been a long time since he had laughed this much.

Lee started acting like Gaara had broken his arm. "Oh my!! Owww you broke it!" He yelled out playfully and cracked up laughing hard. Then he smiled and reached over squeezing Gaara's good arm lightly as if to tell him he was a great friend. When they reached home Lee and Gaara watched movies and talked until it was night time. Both boys got dressed and Lee this time laid down in his sleeping bag and Gaara's and his and then Lee fell asleep.

Gaara laid awake not able to get a few things out of his head. 'I can't believe he really kissed me today...damn it I can't stop thinking about it!!...Did I ...really fall for my friend?' He rolled over and looked at Lee who was laying on his back with Cailey curled up on his chest. He sat up and leaned over Lee a little looking down at him. 'He got really handsome...and I didn't think he could be so brave..' He sighed deeply and stared down at Lee for a moment before another thought popped into his mind. Gaara bit his lip then leaned down slowly not able to help himself, he paused for a moment and lightly shook Lee's shoulder just to make sure he wasn't awake. 'I s-shouldn't be doing this...but I can't help how I f-feel about him..' He thought and slowly closed the gap kissing the older male as softly as he could, he felt that butterfly feeling again and he blushed a dark red. He slowly pulled back after a moment then glanced at Cailey who was staring at him with her head tilted. "W-What? go back to sleep furball." He whispered and laid back pulling the blanket Lee gave him over his head.

Lee laid there, his eyes shut tightly. He had woken up when Gaara shook him he just had not gone to respond until it was too late. Those soft lips hit his and he froze. A deep feeling filled the pit of his stomach and he wanted to move, but he could not, too shocked to. 'Gaara-kun...' He thought and after what seemed like forever the older male finally fell back asleep. The two boys had obviously been awkward the next day and the day after that Lee was driving Gaara and himself to Sakura's party. He coughed while in the car, anytime they were alone an awkward silence always ended up falling. "Um... I know you do not want to go but just try and give them a chance ok?"

"Ok...hey I ordered this cool scratching post for Cailey..it's kinda big though." Gaara said really not wanting to talk about the party. He was really nervous about the party, he didn't do well in crowds and he always felt like he didn't fit in. "Well at lest Naruto is going to.." He said and carefully folded his arms.

"You know you do not have to buy things.. I can buy the,.." Lee said feeling a little weird Gaara was spending money to buy him stuff, even though he understood it was nothing to Gaara since he had a lot of money. Lee pulled into Sakura's drive way where a spot was clear and sighed. "Wish me the best of luck?" He asked Gaara looking at him. He really did not want to deal with Sakura right now, actually he had been trying his best to ignore her. "Just stick by me ok?"

"Hey its for Cailey not for you." Gaara said playfully and then looked at the house and winced. "Yeah..I wish you luck..and don't take off I don't fit with your crowd." He added and took off his seat belt and opened the door. He blinked when he noticed Naruto sitting on the stairs and relaxed a little. "HEY!! I was waiting for you guys god your slow!" Naruto complained and stood up then leaned on his crutches.

"Oh stop complaining Naruto," Lee said playfully and walked close to Gaara going up the steps to him and he smiled. "Come on we should get inside before Sakura yells at us," Lee said with a sweat drop to Naruto.

Gaara opened the door then sweat dropped to see Sakura standing there with narrowed eyes. "You guys are laaate! Your always late when I gave a party! ..Oh Hi Gaara." She said with a fake smiled and Gaara awkwardly scooted around her and into the house. Naruto stuck out his tongue and pushed her aside with his crutch and went into the house after Gaara. "HEY KIBA!!" He yelled.

Lee forced a smile looking at the girlfriend that he started to question their love. "Hey Sakura-chan.." He said and moved around her, brushing right by, no hug or kiss as he would have done before, his feelings had just become numb. After he started being friends with Gaara again he realized the pink haired girl had somewhat brain washed him.

Sakura blinked and frowned then turned and hugged Lee's arms to her chest making sure it was between her breasts. "Leee....you didn't bring any snacks or anything for the party...I wanted you to pick up chips.." She whined tugging him close to her. Naruto was leading Gaara around trying to get him to talk to his friends. "Ok Kiba! You know Kiba right Gaara? He's one of the only people who is not a ass hole in our group! Say hi!" Naruto said and Gaara cleared his throat then stuck out his good hand for Kiba to shake. "Hello.."

Lee blinked and gently pulled his arm away from her not enjoying the feeling at the moment. 'Gaara feels nicer then her.. no no bad thought she is our girlfriend..' Lee gulped and it took all he had in him to lean in and peck her quickly on the lips. "I am sorry Sakura-chan I forgot.." Kiba blinked then grinned and just hugged Gaara tightly. "Hey dude it is alright, just chill. Sakura is the only one here ebing a b-" Ino coughed behind him and he cut himself off knowing very well the pink haired girl would kick him out if she ever heard them say anything bad about her.

Sakura smiled at him then glanced over at Gaara and twitched a little. 'What is Naruto doing?? Why is he having our group talk to him?' She thought then looked up at Lee. "In a little bit could you please go get the chips?" She asked giving her best puppy dog pout. Gaara stiffened up in surprise from the sudden hug then relaxed a little. "Uh ok...I am just a bit nervous I guess.." Gaara replied patting him on the back. Naruto grinned and looked at his friend. "Thanks for being epic Kiba." The blond said cheerfully.

"Of course.." Lee said though he did not want to leave Gaara. "Just being nice," Kiba said with a wider grin. About an hour later Lee sighed getting irritated with Sakura bugging him about the chips and he hugged Gaara quickly telling him to stay close to Naruto before going out and getting in his car leaving to get the chips.

Gaara had gotten to know Kiba better and was sitting with him and Naruto on the couch. "Ooh god I feel dizzy..I think someone spiked the punch...again.." Naruto said rubbing his forehead and Gaara frowned. "Your drunk?" "Yeeeeah seems like it.." Naruto replied and Gaara sighed and stood up kneeling in front of his friend and reaching up to touch his forehead to make sure he wasn't just sick. He blinked when he felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to see Sakura who was holding a beer in her hand. "HI!" She said and Gaara twitched. 'Oh god really?'

Kiba closed his eyes since he now had a headache from the spiked drink and when he heard Sakura he opened his eyes. A familiar raven haired boy came over and smirked. "Hey Sakura.. Gaara's surprise down stairs is ready," He told her and seemed to laugh lightly under his breath. "It took forever but we finally got Sai to cough up some of the papers," he told her.

Gaara gave a confused look then stood up and crossed his arms. "Surpise? What are you guys talking about?" He asked and blinked when Sakura tugged on his arm. "Just come on silly!" She said and dragged him over to the basement door pulling it open. Naruto frowned and struggled to get up. "Ooh the room is spinning..hey Kiba go see whats up.." He muttered. Gaara fallowed Sasuke and Sakura down stairs and got confused why so many people were down there. "Uh...whats going on?" The redhead asked and he started to feel uncomfortable when the room went silent.

The group parted and all of them had smirks and seemingly evil grins planted on their faces, eyes almost blacked out by shadows. A few snickers were heard and Gaara looked at what they were showing him. His heart almost split in two. There sat artwork, obvious thick lines from sharpie and paint writing horrible words across them, crude drawings scribbled over the top of them. Not just just any work though, his artwork. The pieces he had been turning into his class since he had started it. Gaara's heart just shattered when he looked at one in specific. In the middle of all of them was a drawing so familiar, the sketch of Lee he had done in art class, next to it RIku with the famous thick line he had accidentally done through it. But what hurt the most, what upset him so much was what had been written across that one piece of work he had grown to love. You really are a fag. Gaara freaked, tears filled his eyes and he glanced around looking for Lee, Naruto anyone for him to escape from what was going on, but only faces that had always hated him and still hated him surrounded the redhead. Kiba came down the stairs and blinked looking confused at Gaara. When he saw the artwork he raised an eye brow then his eyes widened. Gaara turned and dashed up the stairs, whipping his eyes with his good hand. The small boy ran all the way home, so upset. How could this had happened? Naruto and Lee were the only ones who knew he had been drawing. Lee... he.. he really did betray him didn't he? This was all just a set up.

Unknowing to the redhead running by Lee pulled up to Sakura's house and smiled. When he came in the door though his smile turned into a frown, everyone had alcohol and they were all laughing. Kiba came up to him and growled. "Lee... Sakura has taken it too far this time.." He said and Lee felt confused. "What do you mean?" Then Kiba dragged him downstairs and Lee's mouth fell agape looking at all of the artwork. "Sakura..what is this..?" He asked walking over to the pink haired girl.

Sakura took a sip of her beer and then looked up at Lee. "Oooh heeey..you missed...yeah did you get the chips?" She asked and blinked when the basement door suddenly slammed open. "SAKURA! Damn it come up here I can't get down the stairs." Naruto growled and sighed as he dailed Riku's number on his phone which he only kept in case of emergencies, he leaned on the wall waiting for him to answer.

Lee stared at the girl then sighed and backed up. "Sakura.. I can not believe you.. You are drunk are you not..?" He stated obviously disappointment and hurt in his voice. "Where is Gaara..?" He then inquired. Meanwhile Riku was picking up his phone obviously sounding irritated yet worried since Naruto never called him, "What the hell do you want?"

Sakura pouted at him then looped her arms around his neck. "Why do you keep worrying about him when I am right here...hey do you wanna go all the way for once?" She asked clinging to him not caring the Kiba was standing next to him. Naruto sighed again and ran a hand through his hair. "Gaara is really upset this time...Sakura really hurt him...and I mean bad..you better go find him.." He said really worried about the redhead. 'If only my leg wasn't broken!' "Sakura come up here already we need to talk!" Naruto then shouted getting even more mad.

Lee blinked and gently pushed on her. "Sakura no... one you are drunk and two.. I do not want to.. that is not me.." The older male tried to get away from the pink haired girl. He was worried about Gaara he could not see him anywhere and he knew the red haired boy would be upset about what had been done to his artwork. "Braiser! I knew I should not have let him go to that fucking party.." Riku yelled on the other end of the phone and hung up.

Naruto winced looking at his phone then looked down at stairs. "Oh fuck it...LEE!! You get up here if you want to know!" He yelled and Sakura leaned on the railing to the stairs. "Dooon't you loove the artwork?" She asked pointing to the ruined paintings then giggled. "Look Sasuke is back in town!" She then added pointing at Sasuke who was leaning on the wall.

"Hn.. What is the mater Lee, not having fun?" Sasuke asked and walked over to Sakura. "Come on, laugh, pick up a beer, have fun with your girl.." The male stated and Lee felt constricted. He was unsure of what he should do, Sakura was who he was dating at the moment, but he was so worried about Gaara. "Please be safe and do not do something stupid Sakura.." Lee said to her and kissed her on the forehead before running upstairs to Naruto. "What happened to Gaara?" He asked Naruto. The male was left to have his questions answered by the blond. RIku however had found Gaara crying and wandering the streets unsure of how to get home. "Gaara... please get in the car..." Riku said driving next to the smaller boy.

"J-Just leave me a-alone! I n-need to clear my head!" Gaara said and ran his sleeve over his eyes trying hard to stop crying. 'I k-knew it!...I j-just knew t-this would happen...i-it was to g-good to be true...why did I have to fall for him...' He thought and knotted his hands in his hair.

Riku sighed and stopped his car getting out. "Gaara plaît... Je t'aime..." (Note: Gaara please.... I love you...) The male gently grabbed on Gaara's good arm and pulled him into a tight loving embrace kissing him deeply. Then he pulled back and whipped the small tears away from Gaara's eyes. "Just come home with me.. fuck Lee... You can stay with me until you are better... Or I will stay with you..." He said softly.

Gaara felt his eyes fill with more tears and then buried his face into his boyfriends chest. "T-They r-ruined my p-paintings...I t-thought L-Lee was my f-friend.." He sobbed hard and gripped onto Riku's jacket.

"Forget him.. forget all of them....I am here for you..." Riku said and he huddled Gaara close noticing the boy was shaking. "Come on.. come back to my apartment with me.." The older male gently started to bring Gaara over to the passenger side of his car and kept trying to relax him.

The redhead rubbed his eyes then hugged his boyfriend tightly. "O-Ok...all my a-art books are at L-Lee's place.." He said and started to calm down a little bit. "H-How do you always find me?" He asked after a moment.

Riku helped Gaara in his side of the car then moved over and got in the drivers side. "I have my ways.." RIku said softly then reached over and gently rubbed Gaara's thigh trying to relax him. "Where does Lee live..?" Riku asked and after Gaara told him he drove there sighing. RIku broke into Lee's room easily and grabbed all of Gaara's things that were in the room then jumped into the tree outside Lee's window climbing down when he got back in the car he made sure Gaara was ok. "You really are fine with staying with me?" He asked wanting to keep his lover comfortable.

"Y-Yeah...b-besides I haven't seen your new place yet..." Gaara replied and tried hard to keep himself from crying again. 'W-Why do I k-keep thinking of Lee..? He betrayed me...and he e-even left before a-all that happened..' He thought and bowed his head pulling his hood down low.

RIku sighed and moved his hand off of Gaara starting to drive them back to his place. When they got their Riku gently lead Gaara inside and set his bag by the couch. "You can sleep with me.." He said said softly and hugged Gaara lightly from behind, burring his head into his hair. He really was trying his best to cheer Gaara up again. "WHat can I do that will make you feel loved and happy..?" RIku asked.

Gaara blinked then turned in his boyfriends arms and hugged him. "I don't know...I feel numb right now.." He said and closed his eyes resting his head on Riku's chest. 'I feel so weird and tired...' He thought and then pulled away rubbing his eyes again. "S-Sorry.."

Riku reached up and gently ran his hand down Gaara's jaw line. "No no.. do not be sorry..." Riku breathed out and leaned in closer to the male. "Hey... just focus on me ok..? Let's got to bed.." Riku said and kissed Gaara lightly.

Gaara sighed through his nose and kissed his boyfriend back, he pulled back after a moment and bowed his head. "I'm tired...can we please lay down?" He asked and stared down at the floor feeling his mind was not working right at the moment.

"ALright come on.." Riku said softly and lead Gaara back to his room falling asleep holding the small boy close. Since it was the weekend neither had to worry about school and the entire time RIku tried to make Gaara happy but he still just felt numb and when school came back around Lee immediately ran up to Gaara and Riku.
