Alone
*Sasuke POV* Sasuke was mostly asleep when Naruto and he left the apartment the next morning. When they reached the training grounds, the blonde sat on the ground and leaned against a tree holding the Uchiha in his lap. They had arrived early to get Sasuke used to being outside with a clone instead of the real Naruto. “You know Teme, you really aren’t a morning person,” Naruto commented. Sasuke yawned. “I know. I have no idea why you insisted on waking up at this ungodly hour.” “It’s 8:00!” “Like I said. Ungodly. Now shut up and let me sleep.” “Teme, we are supposed to be getting you used to sitting with a clone not sleeping.” “Well then summon a clone and let him hold me while I sleep. I’m tired.” Sasuke heard a soft poof and he was passed into the clones arms as Naruto complained, “Lazy Teme.” “Mmm, see it’s fine. He’s just like you ‘cept not as warm. Go play with ‘Tachi. Have fun,” Sasuke said dismissively. It was endearing that Naruto was so worried about him but he had sat with clones before and felt perfectly safe with them. He was no longer worried about Naruto specifically leaving him but more about being alone in general so a clone was a fine substitute. It was still Naruto so he was comfortable being touched by it yet it left the real Naruto free to do whatever he needed to do. “If you are sure, Teme. Have the clone bring you to me if you need me, all right?” Naruto said. “’M sure. Go beat the crap out of my brother. I’ma take a nap,” Sasuke replied. The blonde chuckled and pressed a kiss to Sasuke’s forehead before running to the center of the training grounds. Sasuke was true to his words and curled into the clone and dozed lightly. He came back to full awareness a while later when he heard the crack of a branch in the forest behind them. The raven allowed himself to relax once he realized that it was probably just one of Naruto’s friends stopping by to say hi. There was a snicker, then the crack of two hard things colliding, then a poof and Sasuke was alone. He was alone. Naruto wasn’t there. The raven began to hyperventilate. He was alone. Naruto left him. He knew this would happen. He was dirty and filthy and disgusting and Naruto hated him. He was alone. Sasuke curled into the fetal position as the tears began to fall.
“Naruto,” he whispered. “Naruto.” A little louder. “Naruto!” Sasuke screamed as he began to sob. He couldn’t breathe. He was alone.
So this is the last chapter before my Thanksgiving break and there won't be an update next week. I apologize for the cliffhanger. I really hadn't planned it but it seemed like the perfect way to end this chapter. The fact that it landed on the week when I won't be able to update again is just bad luck. As always reviews are welcomed and appreciated.
