Chapter 12
AN: No beta, but she told me it wasn't too horribly done. o.- Enjoy, I'm sorry I kept you all waiting. The next chapter shouldn't take as long, and there's only two more now until the end. Thanks a lot to the reviewers! Eee, almost a hundred, that makes me so happy.
After eating quite well, Itachi leaned back, hands in his lap. It was better than the food he’d had at the Akatsuki, but not by much. Sasuke leaned against Itachi’s shoulder, closing his eyes. They were both tired, and now full. Ingredients for a good sleep, usually. Itachi doubted he would sleep well for a long time. The enemy he had made was not one he would have normally chosen to make.
Deidara eyed Kisame warily as he patted his stomach. “Remind me never to sit next to you when you’re really hungry.”
“And why not?” Kisame lifted an arm to rest along the back of his chair.
“I thought I was going to lose an arm... or a finger, unn.”
Sasuke shook his head, kissing Itachi’s cheek. “Let’s go to bed, aniki.” Itachi nodded and held back a yawn, his brother helping him stand.
“Maybe next time you will,” Kisame grumbled under his breath.
Deidara snorted, “I’d like to see you try, unnn. No more sex for you, or I’d send one of my works of art up your ass.... Bang.”
“You can’t be serious.” There were things you couldn’t do when someone you knew intimately could blow things they made up.
“Only if you agree to not gnaw on me, in unpleasant ways.”
Itachi shook his head, “goodnight Kisame, Deidara.”
“‘Night, Itachi,” his partner waved a little then returned to his light hearted argument with the blonde.
Leading Itachi away, Sasuke decided that they were mildly cute. Still, it was odd. He figured he would be alone with Itachi, and enjoy it. Now faced with other people, he thought he would dislike it. They could be considered friends, something Sasuke never kept. The burden of keeping their group safe fell equally on all four of them, less stress than with only two. In the long run, it was also more healthy for Itachi. Who would have, no doubt, took more of the protective roll over him. Not that he didn’t appreciate it, he just wanted Itachi to realize that he could bear some of the brunt as well. Sasuke was no longer a child.
“Our room is on the second floor... 210.”
Sasuke nodded, “okay. Key?”
“My pocket...” Itachi gave a soft snort, “I think I’ll stay awake long enough to unlock the door for us.”
Rolling his eyes, he fished around for the key in Itachi’s pocket. “Shut up. I’ll do it.”
Itachi smirked, slowly feeling a little more awake. “Hm... maybe I should hide more things in my pockets.” While Sasuke chuckled softly at his brother, Itachi guided them toward the elevator, eyeing it with mistrust. A machine to lift them to a height he could most likely jump himself, but if it ever broke, it would likely kill them both. Some how, he just couldn’t like elevators, but he was too weary to take the stairs. “I should have gotten both of us keys... This isn’t too bad of an area,” Itachi jabbed the up button, scowling as the gears hissed and creaked to bring the lift down. “I wonder if this would be a good place to look for a home, or should we move further away?” Now he was just thinking out loud, something new he did when tired and around Sasuke. There was a level of trust with the boy that letting his guard down, even just a little, was a safe thing to do.
“We’ll think about it in the morning,” Sasuke wrinkled his nose at the overly sweet scented air that whooshed out from the opening doors. The inside was made of red wood and gold, ornate enough to match the level quality in the rest of the hotel. Wrapping an arm around Itachi’s waist, he gently pulled him into the contraption. He pushed the button that had two etched into it, then quickly pushed the door closing button before anyone else could enter.
Itachi smirked at that, leaning down to nip at the top of his ear. “Ever done it in an elevator before?”
“No,” Sasuke shivered, raising an eyebrow, “I can’t say that I have...”
“Kisame told me he enjoyed it.” His tongue lightly traced the outer shell of his ear, breath tickling the inside.
“Mm...” The younger Uchiha gripped the railing, knees suddenly going weak. “Who has Kisame done in an elevator?”
Itachi blinked, pulling away a little. “I didn’t ask.” Whether it was the product of a sleepy brain, or a rare moment of curiosity, Itachi felt the need to remember to ask his partner later about it. At the time, he had been too wrapped up in... well, torturing Sasuke and training to think of much else than that. Before Sasuke had reentered his life and became a positive part of it, nothing outside of his job mattered. Itachi snorted; a positive part of his life? Now he knew he needed to sleep.
The elevator stopped on the second floor, doors opening to an elderly woman, hair the color of snow. She smiled a little at them and moved slowly to one side to let them pass.
Sasuke decided that his new evil streak was entirely Itachi’s fault. Bad influence, and all that. Smirking at the older woman, he ran his hands up Itachi’s side. “I love my aniki sooo much.”
Holding back a snicker, Itachi pulled Sasuke out of the elevator. “Come on otouto, let’s take it to our room...”
“Mm...” He stumbled along after Itachi, trying his best to look innocent. “Are we gonna play that game that you taught me again, aniki?” Leaning up, he nuzzled Itachi’s neck, “please, can we?”
“Well since you’re asking so nicely... I’ll get the ice, you wait for your aniki on the bed...” Itachi felt the eyes of the woman on them as he checked the numbers at every door, looking for their room.
“Yes, niisan.”
Itachi patted Sasuke’s head then drops his hand to his rear, squeezing it. “That’s my favorite otouto.” If there was any doubt he wasn’t all there, that confirmed it for him. Hearing Sasuke call him niisan made him want to grope the boy.
Sasuke squeaked and laughed, “I’m your only otouto.”
Tapping the door that read 210, Itachi leaned against the wall next to it, aware of the older woman’s eyes still on them. Staring after them in horror, or curiosity, he couldn’t say. His attention was based mostly on Sasuke. “Open the door, chibi, and we’ll play all the fun games.”
Sasuke pulled the key out and unlocked the door, tugging the handle down before the electronic lock could reset. “Let’s hurry, aniki... I don’t think I can wait much longer.” Keeping the door open with his foot, he grabbed Itachi’s hand and kissed the back. In an evil smirk only Itachi could see, he sucked one of his fingers into his mouth, tongue rolling over the digit.
The world almost fell away from him. If he hadn’t been leaning against the wall, he would most certainly have landed there anyway. Even though he was falling out of character, Itachi’s eyelids lowered, low moan escaping him. “Gah,” he whisperer, “I forgot you’re good at that...” Sasuke gave him a small smirk as he licked the tip of his finger, then nipped it, before returning his expression to that of the ‘perfect uke’, looking up at him with a light blush on his cheeks, big, dark eyes wavering.
Weariness forgotten, Itachi straightened and touched Sasuke’s cheek. “Come on, my poor innocent otouto... let’s play.” Unable to hold back any longer, Itachi kissed him hungrily, purring as Sasuke responded with equal fervor.
The elderly woman jumped guiltily as the forgotten elevator dinged, opening to a large blue skinned man and a pretty blonde woman. She glanced back at the brothers, then edged slowly toward the elevator while the two new arrivals left, pausing as they spotted the boys.
“They’re doing it in the halls again.” Deidara smirked up at Kisame, “aww, that’s how we started having sex, unnn...”
“Ah, the memories.” Kisame grinned, glancing back at the woman. Not exactly what he would consider a peeping tom, but she was red, hand covering her mouth. If she had a heart attack, he would have to kick those two. Killing off old defenseless ladies wasn’t very nice.
Itachi dragged Sasuke into the room, kicking the door closed after Sasuke. Even though his body ached, and the bed was inviting for more than one reason, he wanted to do something with his brother. The way Sasuke talked, moved, and looked at him begged for some sort of touch. The kiss turned rough; he was too tired to be gentle, and besides... it was more fun that way. Without the audience, Sasuke’s kiss grew bolder, out of character of the innocent boy he had tried portraying. Sasuke’s shirt was pushed up, Itachi’s nails biting into the sensitive flesh of his stomach and pulled down. The younger Uchiha arched into the touch, walking backwards toward the bed.
When the edge of the bed hit the back of Sasuke’s knees, he lowered himself, pulling Itachi with him. Itachi knelt between his legs, the heel of his palm rubbing hard over Sasuke’s pants. The younger Uchiha moaned and arched, cheeks tinting red with his arousal. “Mm... Rough tonight, aren’t you?”
“I’m tired... and now you’ve made me horny.”
Sasuke cracked open an eye, raising an eyebrow at the tone of his voice. “Sorry?” He licked his lips, reaching up to curl his fingers around Itachi’s necklace. “I could just give you a quick blow job, if you want.”
“You’d be okay with that? Blow me then pass out with me?”
“Of course, if that’s what you want.” He smiled, tugging a little on the necklace.
Itachi leaned down and kissed the tip of his nose. Sasuke had officially become the best brother one could have. “I... That’s nice of you.” He must have been tired, if those words almost passed his lips. “Let’s go with that.” At Sasuke’s smile and nod, Itachi settled back on his knees, lifting the half-net shirt from his body, letting it drop to the bed. Sasuke eyed his chest and sat up, kissing the line of his chest. He watched through half lidded eyes while working at removing his pants, Sasuke eagerly sucking at his collarbone. When his brother’s head was close enough, he bent to kiss it, easing the pants over his hips and down his thighs.
Sasuke smiled up at him then slid off the bed. The older Uchiha took the hint and moved to the side of the bed, legs dangling over the edge. He moved between them, setting his hands on Itachi’s thighs. “Mm... I love you.” Not really expecting any response, Sasuke kissed the tip of his length before taking it into his mouth. It twitched and bobbed against his tongue, hot flesh smooth against his lips. His eyes were barely open, concentrating as hard as he was on pleasing Itachi.
Itachi let out hard exhale, licking his lips. “Sasuke...” Weaving his fingers into his hair, Itachi closed his eyes. “More.”
Obediently, he took in all of his member, adjusting a little for his own comfort. His lips twitched, begging to smile around the flesh in his mouth as Itachi tugged on his hair, moaning. The tugging became more insistent, urging him to continue. Sasuke drew his head back then thrust it forward again, one hand stroking Itachi’s hip and thigh.
Dropping one of his hands from Sasuke’s hair, Itachi balanced himself better on the bed, trying not to thrust into the moist warmth of his brother’s mouth. “Faster.” This was different from their usual play, Itachi noted tiredly. He knew his elder brother was exhausted, and was doing his best to hurry. Itachi could respect that. His efforts weren’t for naught; Itachi felt the knot in his stomach tighten. Sasuke’s efforts and his need to rest, he repeated firmly in the part of his mind that still worked. The next time they were alone, he would make sure to reinstate his ability to go for longer. With that silent promise, Itachi gasped, Sasuke’s purring sending waves of vibrations over it. A shudder rolled through him as his release hit, so caught up that he was unsure if he made a noise, or called for Sasuke.
The seed hit the back of his throat, and Sasuke swallowed quickly. His head slowed until Itachi sagged, body almost limp. Smirking, Sasuke pulled away, lapping up the remaining milky substance that welled up at the tip.
Itachi finally opened his eyes, suddenly aware that they had been shut. Sasuke’s lips were red and swollen from their activities, adding to his smirk. He reached out and cupped his cheek, still basking in the after glow. “Sasuke...” Shaking his head, Itachi sighed.
“What?”
His hand drifted to under Sasuke’s chin, lifting it a little. “I don’t know how or what I did to be so lucky as to have you.”
Sasuke felt color rise to his cheeks. His brother really must be tired, to be this amused by something he did regularly. He sat up as Itachi scooted back on the bed, flipping back the covers for them. Sasuke slithered onto the bed and curled around him, moaning at the feeling of Itachi’s body so close, and the soft sheets. Heaven was a clean bed, and Itachi next to him, that night.
“Mmm... No more leaving at nights. I’ll get to stay with you.”
“Mine.” Sasuke nodded, smiling to himself.
“All yours.” For a year. He couldn’t really drag things out longer than that. The rate of his attachment to his brother grew far more than he ever thought he could care. If it kept on, he wouldn’t want to leave Sasuke. “Goodnight, Sasuke.”
“Nn,” he grunted softly, half asleep already, “night.”
“You know we have an adjoining room.”
Itachi jerked out of his half awake state, eyes narrowed with sleep and agitation. “Huh?” He had been drifting in and out of sleep, vaguely aware of the birds chirping outside their window, and the sounds of people walking about their halls. If Leader had sent out someone to kill them, he would have been too lazy to have noticed. Maybe; he wasn’t completely out of it.
“Sounded like you had fun last night,” Kisame snickered, leaning against the wall.
Blinking sleepily, he examined the door that was now open. How did he not remember that being there? “Thin walls?”
“Oh, definitely.”
“You didn’t hear us?” Deidara poked his blonde head through the door, looking far too awake. “Wow, that must have been good sex, if you passed out that hard, unnn.”
Sasuke cracked open an eye, “loud.”
Itachi glanced down at his brother, who was still happily wrapped around his body. “You heard them?”
“Aa.” Ignoring them all, Sasuke snuggled closer. It was bad enough that he had to listen to those to go at it. All night. Most of the morning. They were going to share a cabin together? His bedroom had better be sound proof, or he would take a page from Itachi’s history, and kill them all... He must be half asleep, to think something like that. Sasuke groaned and rubbed his cheek against Itachi’s shoulder.
“Wake up. We have to talk about our next step, unnn. I assume that you’ve got something planned?”
“Yeah, find some place remote, move there, then train and fuck like rabbits. Not necessarily in that order.” Itachi didn’t even bother to move, smiling a little at the light snicker he heard from Sasuke.
Kisame shook his head, “should’ve known.”
“We might have a lot of money now, unn... But it’ll run out quickly. We should think a little harder on it.”
Groaning at being forced to be awake, Itachi sat up, rubbing Sasuke’s back lazily as his brother joined him. “So we’ll get small jobs now and then when it start to run low. We have enough polled together, to get a big cabin. One we won’t drive each other crazy in.”
“Hm... I don’t know...”
“Worse comes to worse, we’ll do a little farming. I mean, we were all gennins at one point, and we had to do field work... it shouldn’t be too hard to remember.”
Deidara snorted, “indeed. I guess we’ll see.”
Itachi yawned, pulling back the covers. Even though he was nude, he stretched as he stood, choosing not to pay attention to Sasuke’s quiet protest. “We should move on, travel a couple more days. As much as I don’t want to, the Fire country has more to offer us. We can make our way there.”
Sasuke was busy scowling. Not really at anyone in general. Mostly at the bed. Sure, they’d seen them doing it in the hallway, but that didn’t mean Itachi needed to walk around naked. “Okay. Get out so aniki can get dressed.”
When Deidara and Kisame had left, Itachi leaned over the bed and kissed him softly. “Cute.” Moving quickly from his brother, he retrieved his pants from the foot of the bed. “Nervous about returning to the Fire country?”
“I don’t care.”
“We’ll stay far from Konoha.”
Sasuke uncurled his legs from underneath him and pushed away from the bed, getting dressed as well. “Good.”
“It’s a good place to be left alone. Nice climate, not too wet, not too dry.”
“Aa.”
They dressed quietly for a moment, Itachi shifting through the sheets to find his shirt. It began to sink in; there was only a year left. One more year to watch Sasuke move, one more year to feel his body beside his. He never thought one could get so attached to having to share a bed. Things like that always seemed bothersome.
“Are you okay?”
Itachi looked up, trying to finger-comb his hair into something manageable. “It isn’t important.”
“Tell me.” Sasuke stepped closer, touching his chest lightly.
“I only have a year left.”
“That’s what you say now...”
Itachi blinked, not expecting that. “What?”
“I’ll make you really happy, and change your mind.” It was hard to say that plan out loud; it sounded more ridiculous when said. Sasuke noticed the change in Itachi, and counted on changing his mind before their now pointless fight.
“Has that been your plan?” The slimmest of smiles graced his lips. How like his brother, to have some sort of hope.
“Aa,” Sasuke said quietly, looking away. Wonderful, now that it was out, Itachi thought it was amusing.
The older Uchiha cupped both of his cheeks, forcing his brother to look him in the eyes. “You already make me happy and I’m sure being around you... and being with you, only you, would make me even happier.” Sasuke brightened, hope written across his features. “I want to stay, Sasuke, but I can’t. I have a debt that needs to be repaid.” Everything happened for a reason, and his deeds weren’t ones that he would regret. They pushed him forward in life, and made him what he was. He wasn’t going to lay down his life, because a promise to a dead loved one... but he wasn’t going to break it, either.
“No you don’t, please... just give it a chance. I... I can change your mind, I know it.” Sasuke kissed Itachi’s chest through his shirt, wrapping his arms around his waist. “I’ll do whatever aniki wants.”
Itachi closed his eyes, arm circling his brother’s waist. “You probably could change my mind... I’ll just have to leave before that.”
“No,” he whispered, shaking his head. “Please stay with me, aniki. I need you to stay.” Itachi had already left him once, he wasn’t going to do it again. Not on these terms.
“I’m sorry I brought it up. I know it causes you pain... Let’s just drop it.”
Sasuke pulled away, fingers twitching. “Aa.”
“Sasuke,” he gripped his shoulders, “why don’t we enjoy the time we have left, ne?”
“Don’t say it like that.” Pulling completely from his grasp, Sasuke stepped away. Damn it, his plan was going to work, if he had to make it work. Although this blow to it, and Itachi’s still stubborn streak, hindered most of his ideas. “You’ll change your mind and stay with me. I know you will.”
“Alright.”
Sasuke looked up at him, surprised. Was Itachi really agreeing to what he wanted? No, he wasn’t. Itachi’s movements were a little less lively, eyes sad. At least, as sad as Itachi would let them reflect. Through the years, he had learned to read what most people would call a expressionless face. Itachi was pitying him, telling him what he wanted to hear in order to shut him up.
The anger wasn’t lost on Itachi. “What?”
“Nothing.”
“Are you sure?” Itachi frowned, rubbing the last of the sleep from his eyes.
“I am. Should we go?”
“Yes. I’ll get the others.”
Sasuke sat on the bed to wait, watching Itachi disappear into the other room. Given what he heard last night, he wondered just how much the others had overheard. Maybe Itachi’s friends would help keep him from his idiotic plan.
