Stopping the madness Saving the day
12: Stopping the madness – Saving the day
Genma found the trail of hash marks just as he had taught Konohamaru to make them. He caught up to the exhausted boy just outside of the Leaf border.
Konohamaru had fallen asleep on a pile of soft leaves and twigs, and Genma gently woke him.
“Hey, brat. What are you doing way out here?” he asked.
“Genma-sensei. We have to save Moegi and the Log Lady. The bad man has them,” he said, his mind still foggy with sleep.
“The bad man? The man from the mission?” Genma asked.
“Yeah, they went um, that way.” The boy pointed and Genma quickly lifted him and slung him onto his back.
“You did fine, Konohamaru. You rest, and I’ll follow the trail.” And he moved through the bushes toward the cold camp of the escaped medic.
Iyashi pushed them hard. When they came to a small border town he rented a room and left the kids tied up in it. Ino was dragged behind him, her hands still tied in the glove and a rope slung around her waist to serve as a leash of sorts. Iyashi knew this town and no one here would interfere with him.
They stopped at a shop and the medic pulled her inside with him.
Ino gasped at the contents of the shop. She had heard of places like this and knew that there were people that were interested in such things, but she had never seen any of them.
Her family did not get involved in such things, and she was very sheltered for the most part.
Iyashi dragged her past the rows of sex toys to the bondage section and proceeded to pick out some of the various leather belts and collars.
“What are you planning?” she asked with as much venom in her voice as possible.
“Shut up, or I’ll get you a gag, too.” He said and Ino hissed at him. “I need some things to make sure that the three of you behave. Now, let’s see.”
“Iyashi, you don’t need us. Just let us go and we won’t tell anyone where you went, I promise.” Ino begged watching him pick up some harsh looking leather straps.
“What good would that do me, Yamanaka? I know very well that the ANBU don’t need you to find me. Now, these will do just fine. Come on.” And he pulled her farther into the shop.
Genma had now abandoned the camp after finding the proof that the three captives were safe and healthy. He followed the trail and was soon in the town.
His Konoha Jounin uniform set him apart and the townspeople looked at him with distrust. He would have to be careful here and he couldn’t afford to put the boy on his back into danger.
He had heard of slave towns and was sure that in a town such as this one, there would be a base of slave trade. No one here would help him.
He needed to find a place to keep Konohamaru safe while he searched for Iyashi. The boy would not have stayed in a camp outside of town when his friends were in danger and for that Genma was proud and annoyed with him.
The Jounin rented a room at the hotel in the town’s center and he dropped the boy onto the bed and covered him over. Genma warded the room and placed a few traps about before slipping out the door and into the fading light of the day.
It was full dark before a henge transformed Genma, disguised as a local scumbag was browsing in a few of the seedier parts of town and caught the words of some drunks at the end of the bar.
“…blonde and real classy looking. It will be difficult to break her, but he has all the right equipment now.”
“I heard he about bought the store out. He came into town dragging three. Two are young and they will be interesting to deal with. One little girl has some potential for a fortune if he can keep her pure long enough. Guess that was why he got a belt. It won’t keep out the craftiest, but should deter some.”
“Wow, trying to keep a virgin is a scary task. I bet he has a contact.” And then the two moved away and their words went with them.
Genma seethed inside. He had definitely become too attached to his genin team if those words cut through him so deeply. He moved around to catch more information on the missing group.
After leaving the store, Iyashi had led Ino down an alley and strapped a collar around her neck. He undid the rope and led her now by a damn leash. She was incensed but couldn’t get free, so followed and was drawn to a dark doorway.
Iyashi knocked on the door and smiled at her as he waited. It wasn’t long enough for Ino as the door was opened by an ugly leering man with greasy hair and long dirty fingernails.
“Come on in, Medic. What have you brought me?” he asked.
“I have nothing for you. I am looking for information and I need to get a message to a friend.” Iyashi said as he pulled Ino into the room.
“Are you sure, this one would make you a sizable amount?” the filthy man asked.
“Oh, I know that. She’s ninja trained and also talented in other ways. No, this one I plan to keep my own. I need to send a message to Kabuto. Do you know where he is?”
Ino listened carefully to get this information also. The man was ugly and fat and misshapen, but he might be a wealth of the information that she needed to get the madman that was killing innocent young girls to attempt to make cute little babies like Shinja and Hebichani into monsters like Orochimaru.
“He’s holed up not far from here. In the stone country, he found this resort town that is abundant in young rich virgin daughters. He has already sent a few my way. Though by the time I get them they ain’t virgins anymore.”
“Really, Stone Country? There are a lot of resorts there. They have so many stupid rules, too.”
“Well, he can be very convincing. This one was happy to take him in as a massage therapist. He is good with those hands, I hear. He sure kept his master happy before.”
“Well now, that is something I wouldn’t know about. So, you can get him a message for me, right?”
“That I can do.”
Genma found the trail once again and when he had carefully avoided the mess of half assed wards and traps he untied the two children and took them back to the room where Konohamaru was now fully awake though not completely rested from his ordeal. These two were even worse off as they had not been able to sleep in the awkward way that they had been left tied, so were now crashed on the beds and sleeping fitfully.
“Stay here and watch them, Brat. I need to find the traitor and the chuunin he still has. You need to keep them safe, if anyone comes in here kill them.” He said handing the boy his sharpest kunai, and a few small stars.
“Yes, Genma-sensei. I will take care of them. Kill first and ask questions in heaven. You go save that pretty log lady.” And the boy had the nerve to smirk at his teacher.
Genma rolled his eyes and ventured out once more.
Iyashi knew immediately that the room had been entered by a ninja. His wards were still in place and the traps not set off. His other captives were gone.
Their pitiful chakra signatures were not in evidence so he didn’t even bother returning to the room for fear of a trap. He dragged Ino down a side street and watched the rooftops above, his experience with ninjas giving him enough knowledge to avoid capture so easily.
He knew this rescue party would not drag the children home so quickly, as they were still worn out from the trip here.
He also knew that there were only three safe hotels in this town, and this one was not now. He moved to the site of the second.
He scanned the building feeling the power within. Yes, this was where the recovery team was located, that would be the only explanation for it. He was a trained field medic and he knew how to find the injured teams he was sent to find and this much chakra emanating from one building had all the earmarks of a well laid trap surrounding the ANBU team and their rescued comrades. Iyashi kept on moving and ended up at the third hotel and in a smaller room. Smaller and easier to guard.
Genma had also noted the strong chakra coming from the hotel and knew immediately that there was a large amount of trained ninja within. He was not sure who they were, but wasn’t ready to risk exposing himself by finding out, so had not chosen this hotel for his team.
Genma was in a room two floors above the one Iyashi had chosen and didn’t realize it.
HE was searching the small town for the missing medic who was resting, not too peacefully in his hotel room.
::: And just what will he do about this???
Ruka - It isn't cruel, its a cliffhanger. Okay, maybe it is cruel.
Vashta - I actually believe in Lust at first sight. But love takes time. Oh, no isn't that a song? I don't do songfics. Ino is no virgin, but Kabuto will rear his ugly head. Only not in this fic. I just finished his scene and he is a bad bad man. Watch the companion fic to this.
Reya - I knew you would catch on. I have faith in my reader base. Do you have any other questions?
