Chap. 10

[[LONG AWAITED UPDATE!!

Sorry this took so long but hiyaa! here you go.]]

The day had arrived. Finally. He didn't know weather to be sad, angry or annoyed so he settled for all three. He also didn't know if he should go to the gates or stay inside of his bedroom, cuddling with the stuffed frog he'd had since he could remember.

Sighing, Naruto sat up, setting the frog gently on the bed and stood, wiping at his eyes. He'd been cleaning out stables for the last few days and amazingly, even though he could heal faster, had better senses and was in excellent health...he had allergies. Who knew? He'd been sneezing, coughing and hacking out half a lung trying to clean the stables but alas, none of it had helped and he still had three and a half weeks left of it.

A month of D-rank missions.

Sure, she could have been harsher but that was bad enough. He was sure if he could have gotten demoted she would have demoted him but, he was still a genin. Wait...she couldn't have sent him back to the academy could she? Suddenly, Naruto was counting his lucky toads that she hadn't done just that.

The blond walked over to his chest-of-drawers and pulled out some clothes then wadded into the bathroom to take a quick shower. He pulled on his sickly orange shirt, white boxers and black sweats. He didn't have to be formal did he? Frowning, he stripped back down to his boxers and started rummaging through his drawers and wardrobe. he finally came out with something that didn't look like it was his. He had to think back for a moment.

"OH!" Smiling, Naruto pulled on the pants, his only white shirt and tied up his hetai-ait. He didn't look bad and he didn't look so formal someone would mistake him for another person. The pants were something Gaara had left for him. They were a little tight in the ass but other than that, they were comfortable. He had to admit, the red head had good taste when he wasn't in the same clothes. Shaking his head, Naruto walked to the couch, grabbed his weapons pouch and stepped into his sandals. With one last look around, he headed out and towards the thing he'd been dreading for the last few weeks.

"Hokage-sama."

"Kazekage-sama." They bowed and stepped back to their respectful parties. Gaara had been reinstated to his former position, Kankuro taking the demotion a little harder than he should have and now he was on his way home. There was a sort of joy in the knowledge he was whole again and would be returning to his village. Green eyes scanned the area in a last effort to spot the one person he'd hoped to see. It was a lost cause. He should have known Naruto would chicken out and not come. A slight frown playing on his lips, he turned and started walking away from Konoha.

Tsunade watched Gaara walk away, posture straight, arms across his chest and his face down. Her eyebrow twitched and her fist curled tightly to itself with want to punch a certain shinobi. When a wind rushed past her, she had to keep her hair out of her face. When her vision was clear, she spotted Naruto up in a tree, just watching Gaara and his party and she had to smile. Okay, he was late, really, really late, but at least he'd made it.

Naruto sighed with relief when he'd gotten to the gates and Gaara hadn't left yet. Now he sat up in a tree waiting for said person to notice his presence. it took longer than he wanted so he hopped down behind the red head. He placed a hand over his mouth, whispered something in his ear and dragged him out of the group. He knew everyone was watching but he didn't get to say goodbye and he hated it.

When they were far enough away from prying eyes and ears, Naruto turned and pulled Gaara into a fierce hug. The red head returned the gesture, arms wrapping around Naruto's body and holding him tight. When they pulled away, Gaara was smiling. A smile only Naruto would see. The blond couldn't help but smile back and he leaned in, placing a gentle kiss against Gaara's mouth. He was a little shocked when the red head deepened the kiss but he sighed, pulling their bodies closer.

They had to pull away for air but they both chuckled a little. Naruto leaned his forehead against Gaara's and stared into emerald green eyes. "Be safe ne?" The red head nodded slightly and Naruto moved and breathed out. He would not cry. No. No crying. He'd be damned!

Too late.

The tears came down silently and Gaara reached up to wipe them away. Naruto was sad. Why was he sad? The question was there, in his eyes and Naruto had to look away.

"You're leaving. You won't be able to leave your village again Gaara."

"I am the Kazekage."

"Yes, I know that. They know that." His head tilted in the direction of Gaara's party. "But they won't just let you leave."

"You come to me."

"I'm going to be cleaning stables for the next month Gaara and after that I don't know what she's going to have me do." He shook his head, laughing a little. "How do Kiba and Kankuro manage it?"

"Why don't you ask them?"

"I tried asking Kiba but he just said 'we manage.' I don't think I'm getting more help than that." Not being able to help himself, Naruto pulled Gaara into another hug and held on. He didn't want the red head to leave. Not now and certainly not ever. He hadn't been able to admit that until the previous evening when he'd left Gaara's hotel room. He felt something for Gaara, something he couldn't explain. It might have been love. It might have been anything, but it was something he wanted to keep and with Gaara leaving, it would be impossible. He was the Kazekage and Naruto was nothing.

"You are thinking too hard." Gaara's fingers came up to caress the frown lines on Naruto's face and he leaned forward to kiss them one by one. "What are you thinking Naruto?"

"How I wish you wouldn't leave." Oh! No! He didn't just say that! Naruto turned to move away and slapped himself in the forehead. He really was losing it. First, he'd gone and started something he couldn't finish, with Gaara no less, could have been killed countless times in the process and now, now he was acting like a child being taken away from his favorite pet. Not that Gaara was a pet, but it was the closest analogy he could come up with.

Gaara frowned, and stepped back. He didn't want to leave, that much he knew and he knew that he wouldn't be able to get away from the village again unless it was dire. There was something in Naruto's blue gaze, before he'd turned away and Gaara would have given anything to know what he was thinking, but what he came out with wasn't what the red head had been expecting. Face falling back into it's usual facade, Gaara grabbed Naruto's arm and dragged him out of the forest. He dropped the blonds arm and walked straight up to Tsunade -who was still standing at the gates- and pulled her aside. He didn't much care at the looks he was getting or the fact that Tsunade had tensed the moment he'd touched her.

When they were out of hearing distance but still in sight, Gaara looked at her, arms moving to cross over his chest and he started talking. Tsunade used all of her power to stop from bursting out with laughter, jumping up and down for joy and to keep from smiling. Gaara just prattled on -something she wasn't ever going to get used too- and she just listened.

Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi just watched in amazement as Gaara dragged Tsunade away from everyone even though they were still in sight and watched the redheads mouth move. He must have been talking a mile-a-minute! Tsunade just nodded here and there, then a hand moved to cup her chin as she started talking and they went on like that for a good twenty minutes. When they walked back, everyone's jaws were hanging to the floor. Tsunade closed Naruto's mouth and slapped his cheek lightly.

"You're D-ranks have been postponed until further notice, however, you will be taking on an escort mission." Naruto's jaw dropped again, Kakashi started choking and Sakura just patted her teammates back to keep him from dying on his own spit.

"N-nani?!"

"Go pack your bags brat, you're going to Suna." The blond looked from Tsunade to Gaara who's eyes held something he couldn't put a finger on. He shut his mouth and forced chakra to his feet. He practically flew back to his apartment grabbing up a bag of clothes, rations, extra equipment, his second pair of sandals, Frogger and a few other things before he ran back to the gates. Gaara and his party were no where in sight and he all but cried.

"Well get going! I'll send the mission scroll by messenger bird to your first stop for the night." He just nodded and ran off. Tsunade turned back to Kakashi and Sakura. "What?"

"Why did you just send him to Suna?"

"Kakashi! Never question my decisions." Her face became suddenly evil and he backed up a step, and then another. Sakura had to bite down on a finger to keep from bursting out in laughter. She knew that face all to well. If Kakashi didn't scramuse, he was a dead shinobi...well, maybe not dead but seriously injured and begging for mercy. Her teammate got wise very quickly and poofed away. When he was gone, Sakura couldn't help but start laughing. Tsunade looked at her student, smile on her face.

"I don't think I've ever seen him run so fast!" Sakura grabbed her stomach and Tsunade started chuckling then followed Sakura into a fit of laughter. It was humorous! Kakashi, son of White Fang, running away from a woman! Yes, she was the Hokage, but, he was Kakashi! Fearless Kakashi! It was funny in ways no one but her and Sakura would understand.

When the two women collected themselves, they walked back to the Hokage tower. Sakura had been depressed as of late but she'd felt better after laughing.

"Sakura?"

"Tchi-tcho?"

"What's bothering you?" Oh, so she had noticed. Sighing gently, Sakura placed both hands behind her head and looked up to the sky. She closed her eyes and stopped walking, letting the early morning breeze flow over her, through her hair and listened to it's whispered secrets. "Sakura?"

Sakura started walking again, her eyes opening and meeting those of her sensei. "We broke it off. He and I finally came to the conclusion it wouldn't work." Tsunade's gaze moved from her student to the sky and she stopped walking. Both women took a detour and headed to the top of the Hokage mountain. They sat atop the Third's head and stared out over the village and endless sky. They did this often enough it could have been called a familiar routine but it wasn't that often.

"And?" Tsunade said after a while.

"And I have gotten my first night of real sleep since we started. Honestly tchi-tcho, he didn't love me like I thought he did and I didn't love him the same." Sakura looked over and her gaze became serious. Tsunade just watched as her student leaned over and slapped her face. To say she was shocked wasn't the word. Beyond shock. Utter amazement.

"It wasn't my name he called out in his sleep tchi-tcho." Sakura laid back, hands going back behind her head as she closed her eyes. "He called my name during what could be called the greatest sex I might ever have in my life but never in his sleep. Never did he dream of me. We slept together, shared the same bed, his body around mine and not once did he call my name while his eyes were closed." She laughed a little. "I guess I'm jealous but, I also guess I was expecting it."

Tsunade was stunned. That was the word she couldn't find. Stunned. What was Sakura saying to her? Her mouth opened and closed then opened and closed once again and she finally let out a small sound.

"You have never noticed the way he looks at you tchi-tcho. The way he acts around you. You're utterly oblivious." Sakura turned her head, smile peeking out. "You are just like that blond teammate of mine sometimes. You can see everything in front of you but ignore everything else." Her gaze turned back to the sky. "Yea, I guess I am jealous. I finally think someone cares enough to have a relationship and they want you instead." She sat up and kicked out her legs. "Even though I am jealous, at least if he is with you he will be happy ne?"

"Wasn't he happy with you?" Her voice was low, barely there.

"Yes, he was happy; enthusiastic that someone my age could see him in a sexual manner. Happy that he had someone to spend time with. But not happy because as much as we are alike, I am not you." She stood and stretched. "He is more than likely at the womens bath around this time of the morning, if not he's in the hotel. Second floor, fifth room." With that, Tsunade watched as her student walked away. Her heart dropped. She actually put a hand to her chest and pressed in. What had just happened?

The messenger bird arrived minutes after they had at the small village that they were staying for the night. Naruto got the scroll and read over the contents. He was to escort Gaara back to Suna and from the time he set foot inside the Village of Sand, for the following twenty-four days he was to remain there. There was an explanation and Naruto couldn't help but sigh as he continued reading. It was because the yearly celebration was coming up. He'd forgotten that. At least someone remembered. He quickly scanned the rest of the details, burned the scroll and sent the ashes into the wind.

The small Inn where they were staying was packed with just their party and it was cramped. Too cramped. So, deciding he needed some air, Naruto went outside to sit in a tree. One leg was hanging over the side of a branch, both hands behind his head, as he rested against the trunk. He closed his eyes and sighed. Things couldn't have worked out better. But he wondered why she had let him come so quickly? It wasn't just because of the yearly celebration and he knew that but he couldn't figure out what else it might have been. It kind of bothered him.

Opening his blue gaze, Naruto peeked over the setting sun and couldn't help but smile. It was a beautiful sunset. His attention was quickly swayed from the sunset to suddenly falling. Okay, something was wrapped around his leg and he was falling. He yelped when he hit something hard but soft and looked around. It was sand. Gaara was a few yards away trying to hide a smile. Chuckling, Naruto started to move away from the sand but was held steadfast.

"G-Gaara! Let me go!" The red head just walked over and Naruto felt the sand tighten. "HEY! LET ME GO THIS INSTANT!" He started squirming around, attempting to get free. The sand just moved tighter around him.

"Say please."

"Please!" One of the blonds legs was sticking out at an odd angle while one arm was above his head and the other looked like it was coming out of his ass. The sight was not only entertaining but absolutely hilarious. Gaara laughed and let Naruto fall the scant two foot to the ground. Naruto stood quickly and rubbed his injured backside, muttering something that sounded remotely like a curse. The blond glared at Gaara who was down to chuckling. "I don't see what's so funny!"

Gaara shook his head and turned, looking up to the darkening sky. His arms were in their usual position, across his chest and he moved just enough to put his legs slightly apart. If Naruto didn't know any better, he'd have swore that was Gaara's relaxed position. But it wasn't. The red head's posture was perfectly straight, knees slightly bent and his guard fully up. The sand around him slid back into Gaara's gourd, the cork plugging itself back into place. It was creepy when the sand moved on it's own.

Walking over, Naruto shoved his hands in his pants pockets and stood at Gaara's side, his eyes also moving back to the sky. They stood there until the night was full of stars, the sky utterly black. It was a new moon, so there was no moon in the sky, or at least you couldn't see it. Naruto was the first to move, and he just moved a little closer to Gaara's side.

"What are we going to do when I have to leave?" His voice was so low, he was sure the only person who could hear him was at his left side.

"Hm." Gaara looked over to his right to see blue eyes staring right at him. He honestly didn't know what they were going to do when they would have to be separated. Naruto couldn't very well move to Suna and Gaara couldn't leave Suna at all so it made for a very hard question. Gaze turning back to the black sky, Gaara let out a small breath, his hands slipping to his sides. He started forward and Naruto fell into step behind him.

They ended up in the Inn, in one room. They didn't know who's room it was because they were too busy getting naked. But they weren't having sex. They were exploring, planting kisses here and there, getting to know each other's bodies. Naruto dragged Gaara to the bed where they both climbed under the covers and just lay there. Gaara moved to pillow his head against Naruto's shoulder, the blond wrapping one arm around Gaara's shoulders. Naruto moved to plant a kiss one Gaara's red locks. When green eyes looked up to his, Naruto almost broke out into tears for the second time that day.

Gaara's green eyes were full to the brim with something. An emotion. Naruto wasn't sure if Gaara knew it or not but it was there. It was an expression Naruto never thought anyone would show to him. Was it love? Maybe. He couldn't have cared less what it was because it was there. The blond pulled Gaara up and melded their mouth's together in a slow, sensual kiss that had them both gasping for breath when they pulled away.

"I..." Naruto had to stop and looked away, "I think I might be falling in love with you." He looked back to watch Gaara's reaction but the red head just closed the distance between them, moved and straddled Naruto's hips, his lips touching Naruto's again. Naruto groaned when he felt Gaara rubbing that nice, pale ass against his crotch. The red head just swallowed the groan and continued to rub. Naruto thought he was going to go insane. Not that he wasn't already. He rolled, pinning Gaara under him, pulling the red head's hands above his head and ground his now achingly hard cock against Gaara's. Gaara shuttered, eyes closing.

"Please..." Naruto was a little shocked, a small smile appearing on his lips. Gaara was asking, not just taking. It was an amazing thing.

"Please what?" He felt like playing a little. Naruto bent down to capture a nipple between his teeth and nipped gently then sucked it. Gaara's back arched off the bed, his hands trying to move but not being able to. The red head let out a cry and struggled to move his arms. Naruto just ignored his struggles and moved to the other nipple. When he was finished with his delicious torture, Gaara was panting hard, making small noises and repeating the word "please" over and over again. "Tell me what you want Gaara."

"More. Please Naruto!" He was shamelessly rubbing his cock against the blonds, trying to get more friction, anything that would relieve the ache.

"More what?" Naruto started bending his head back to Gaara's nipple when the red head moaned, pressing his chest up.

"Anything just more. Gods, give me your cock. In my ass. Now!"

"But you're not ready. It will hurt." Naruto's face softened as he licked the brightly colored peeked nubs under his chin.

"Now!"

"Mmm. I'm enjoying myself. I think I'll wait a little while longer." Naruto pulled Gaara's hands to his sides as he moved lower, sucking and nipping, leaving red marks in the shape of his teeth here and there. His mouth hovered over Gaara's fully erect cock and his eyes rolled up to watch the red head's reaction as he took that hard, dripping cock into his mouth.

Naruto ended up having to hold Gaara's hips down. It was a mistake because Gaara's hands fisted in his hair and pulled him up. Then they were rolling. Gaara made due with a little spit, lubed up Naruto's cock and started to sink down. There was pain, a lot of it, but he didn't care. He'd felt worse pain in his life time and soon enough, the pain was replaced by immense pleasure. Gaara's head lollied back, his hips starting to rise and fall slowly, working himself open.

The blond had tried to stop Gaara because it hurt him as well but he couldn't do it. Gaara's face was so lost in bliss and then he started moving. Naruto couldn't form words even if he wanted to. The blond grabbed onto Gaara's hips, the red head bracing himself against Naruto's chest and their bodies met over and over again. It was slow at first, sensual but then Gaara sped the pace up, making Naruto hammer in and out of his body.

They ended up on the floor sometime around the fourth round, Gaara sitting in Naruto's lap, head thrown back as he screamed out his orgasm, Naruto's name falling from his lips. Naruto's body shuttered, his stomach tightened and he soon joined Gaara. His release was mind blowing. Gaara's body was clenching around him, milking everything out of him. Naruto fell backwards, pulling Gaara down with him. They lay there, sweating, panting, their bodies still joined and fell asleep.

They woke up when someone sent up a flare of chakra. The sun was peeking over the horizon. Gaara was the first to move, wincing as he stood. Naruto was still on his back, one arm over his eyes. He didn't want to get up. In fact, he didn't want to move. He did only because something wet and cold hit his chest. It was a washcloth. Groaning, Naruto sat up and washed himself off then went to pull on some pants before kissing Gaara and heading to his own room.

It turned out they'd happen to be in Gaara's room the whole night. Good for the red head, bad for the blond. Everyone met up for a quick breakfast of rations and they all headed out before the sun was high in the sky.

The party didn't actually make the second stop, they passed it. They went straight through and made it to Suna before they were expected. None of them cared. They were tired, sweaty and all wanted some actual food. Naruto was shown to his room where he just looked at the bed and smiled. He walked over and flopped down, not caring that he desperately needed a shower or at least some warm water to wash up with. He liked the bed. It was soft. It smelled good. He nuzzled the bed and soon, snores filled the hall even though the door was closed.

"Nmhh....not now....another five min-....hmmm...." Naruto rolled and happened to pull the poor soul trying to wake him, down onto the bed and under him. When Naruto's blue eyes opened, he was staring at one overly red faced Kankuro. "Uhhh...."

"Move!" Naruto just rolled and sat up, wiping at his eyes. He frowned and looked out the window. It was still daylight. Why was he woken up? Oh, might have been dinner time. Or he might have something to do. Or Kankuro was just trying to be an ass. His frown deepened as he turned to look at kankuro.

"What is it?" Kankuro just punched him in the face and stood up. Naruto held his jaw and glared at the puppeteer. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!"

"For asking my pup questions that you had no business asking."

"You pup? What the-" Naruto stopped in mid sentence and growled. "For your information Kanky," Naruto deliberately used a name he knew the other shinobi despised with a passion, "I only asked simple questions, nothing to do with your sex life. It's too damn complicated to understand anyway so I didn't bother asking why you like to make Kiba bleed and why he just takes it." Kankuro's face darkened at Naruto's words. "That's right you overly proud son-of-a-bitch, I know what you do behind closed doors but I keep to myself. And just for the record, I happen to be with your brother-" Kankuro landed another punch in Naruto's face.

The blond regained his footing and let out a very low growl. The hair on Kankuro's arms stood up as well as the hair on the back of his neck. Naruto crouched, and then launched himself forward, barreling right into Kankuro's stomach and knocking him over. The blond held him pinned with his legs and with his hands, landed two simultaneous punches in Kankuro's face, then stood and walked off.

"The next time you want to hit me, make sure I'm down for the count Kanky or I will get up and hit you back." Naruto just vanished and left Kankuro cursing and trying to get up. He should have switched his real body and his puppet before he came to talk to Naruto. Now he'd be regretting it for the rest of the day...and the night.

Dinner was hot. Just like the rest of Suna. He'd been told he couldn't shower so he'd been given some warm-ish water to wash up with. Gaara informed him before they'd arrived that water was a precious commodity in Suna. He sure believed it now. As per usual, Gaara ate with his hands as did Temari and Kankuro. Naruto was thankfully given chopsticks and no curry. He didn't know if his throat or intestines could handle the stuff like Lee's.

The food itself was delicious. It was ctualy food, not rations or ramen. Naruto thought about asking Gaara where he learned to cook but he didn't know if his siblings knew about what he did or not. After that however, Gaara was so busy Naruto ended up alone for the night.

And every night after that for a week.

By the end of his first seven days in Suna, Naruto was horny, bored out of his mind and was suddenly missing ramen. There wasn't a single stand in the entire village. It was almost like it was unheard of or something. Naruto had taken up to sparring with someone of the village's shinobi. It wasn't so bad but they usually backed off when they had a chance for a good blow. He wondered why. It wasn't really even sparring if you didn't make the effort.

When he started walking back to the tower, he was stopped by Temari. She had stopped him with a hand on his arm.

"Uzumaki...I mean Naruto-" she had to pause and look away. "I think you should go see Gaara."

"What's the matter Temari-san?" Naruto was on guard in an instant, posture straight, body alert.

"I don't know. I was thinking maybe you could find out." He just nodded and ran the rest of the way to the tower. He found Gaara in his office. The red head looked up from his paperwork and Naruto's breath stopped.

It was his eyes.

There was no emotion. Nothing. Not even a spark of life.

They were dead.

"Gaara?" The red head just looked at him, waving the guards out. Naruto approached the desk, hands digging into his pockets. "How are you?" There was no answer. "Do you want me to-" he words were cut off when the red head was suddenly in front of him, their lips a hairs breath apart.

Gaara's hands moved down the front of Naruto's body to stop just above the blonds stomach. Naruto's breath came out slow and steady, his body ready for anything. But what it wasn't ready for was what Gaara did next. The red head dropped to his knees and hugged his legs. He started sobbing. His green eyes closed, tears rushing down his cheeks like twin rivers. Naruto didn't know what to do or what to say. He just pried Gaara's hands off, sank to his knees and pulled the red head into his arms.

They rocked there for a few moments while Gaara calmed, his sobbing down to hiccups. Naruto petted his hair, rubbed small circles on his lower back but said nothing. He just waited for Gaara to start talking. When the red head started dozing, it became impossible. With a frown and a small sigh, Naruto lifted Gaara up, bridal style and headed out of the office. He got directions to Gaara's room and took him there, stripping him and placing him under the light sheet.

Naruto stayed there through the rest of the night just keeping an eye on the red head. It was almost dawn when it started. Gaara's body started to shake, small sounds escaping his closed lips. His face contorted and he started to silently cry. He whispered things but they were unintelligible. Naruto leaned over to wake the red head but was stopped with kunai at his throat. He didn't move, didn't even breathe. Green eyes opened slowly, one at a time, until Gaara was fully awake. The kunai fell from his pale hand onto the bed and he sat straight up, arms wrapping around the blonds waist.

"Sorry. So sorry." He just repeated the same thing over and over again. Naruto pushed him back, climbed under the sheet with him and held him.

"Gaara?" When the red head didn't answer, Naruto slapped his face. "Answer me damn it!"

"Nani?" There, Naruto had his undivided attention now.

"What is the matter?"

"I don't know what you mean." He went to move but Naruto held him firm.

"Don't lie to me. You fell to your knees and cried a few hours ago and you just had a nightmare." Gaara just closed his eyes and shuttered. He didn't want to remember what he had dreamed of. What he had been dreaming of since he'd returned home. Maybe he should have stayed in Konoha somehow. It wouldn't have been possible. "Talk to me." Naruto pushed a stray lock of red hair from his companions face, placing a gentle kiss on each eyelid.

"It was my father..." Naruto pulled their bodies closer, turning Gaara so he could spoon the red head's back. "He was the previous Kazekage." Gaara sighed and opened his eyes, starting to talk. He didn't care for talking but someone needed to know. Naruto was there and wouldn't think less of him. Would he? "I...was never wanted. My mother died when I was born, when Shukkaku was sealed in me." He had to stop and take a breath. "I wasn't worth life he would say. I didn't deserve to live. I was weak. He hired assassins to kill me. My own uncle volunteered. The night I killed him was the night I truly died."

Naruto didn't know what to say so he just curled tighter around Gaara, placing gentle kisses along the red head's neck and shoulders.

"I dreamed he wasn't dead. That he came here to-to-" he had to stop, hands moving up to grip Naruto's hands so tight that his fingernails almost drew blood. "I dreamed he came to kill you. Temari. Kankuro. To take everything away. Everything...I couldn't-can't...gods..." the sobs were quiet this time, his body slightly rocking. "I can't lose them. You. Can't lose my village. My people." The blond knew all to well what losing anyone he cared for or protected would do to Gaara. He would become uncontrollable. He would become the same killer he was before the chounin exams.

Naruto turned Gaara back around and kissed him gently. Passionately. He pressed their forehead's together, entwining their legs. "You won't lost them. Not your village, not your brother or sister and you won't lose me. Especially me. Unless you decided I wasn't worth your time anymore of course." Gaara hissed and nipped at Naruto's lip. The blond just chuckled. "Dry your eyes Gaara. They are dreams, nightmares. They are not real and they never will be. Besides, do you think the great Siblings of Suna would go down without a fight? Not likely. Temari would never forgive herself if she got beat by anyone who wasn't Shikamaru and Kankuro would die if he found out he was weaker than Kiba." He smiled, his big, bright, beaming smile. His famous smile. "And I won't be out done by anyone. Ever."

"Hm." They stayed there, entwined and cuddling until Temari came to get Gaara for breakfast. She didn't walk in but rather knocked and said it was time to get up. Naruto groaned and Gaara just frowned. He wrapped his pale body around the blond who just peeked out from under his arm.

"I think you're getting my bad habit's Gaara. Being lazy is my biggest fault." Naruto proceeded to poke Gaara until the red head bit his finger. Naruto yelped but they both got out of bed, brushed their teeth, washed up and headed out. Naruto made a pit stop to change his clothes and they went down for breakfast.
