Hidden Love

"Gaara-kun! I tried to find you, your stuff was not at home so I thought you went back to your house but the servants said you did not come home I was so worried..." "Ha like you were, go the hell away..." Riku said defending his boyfriend.

Gaara glared at Lee then gathered up his things and stood up from his spot under the tree with Riku. "Don't even talk to me..." He said and moved around him. Naruto looked over from his spot next to Sai on one of the benches that was around the lockers and sighed. "Oh here we go..." He muttered.

"What..? Gaara!" Lee yelled and went to chase after him but the glare Riku shot him, of utter hate and ready to kill made Lee stop. "I have to go to my class I have a test today ok? Will you be ok in the play with him..?" Riku asked his boyfriend softly staying close to him.

Gaara gave Riku a small hug then nodded. "Yeah...it's only acting I will be fine..." He replied and then walked over to Naruto blinking when he noticed Sai sitting next to him. "Since when do you hang out with the teachers?" He asked and Naruto rubbed the back of his neck. "Since I left Sakura's group... so looks like Riku has to get used to me hanging around more." The blond replied grinning and then looked at Sai. "Can you help me up?"

"Of course Naruto-kun..." Sai said softly and he gently helped the blond up. "Do you need me to help you to your next class or are you good?" He asked and he smiled at the younger boy. Lee frowned feeling that he did not fit with Gaara at the moment. Was he not only kicked out of Sakura's group but Gaara's too? Sakura was bound to be pissed off at him.

Naruto rubbed the back of his head and smiled. "Uh if it's not too much trouble..." He said and Gaara blinked looking at them. "Let's go come on..." Gaara said and turned keeping his gaze at the ground not meeting Lee's eyes. Naruto looked at them and sighed, it hurt to see his best friends like this.

"Not at all..." Sai said and wrapped his arm around Naruto's waist to help walk him to his class. Lee followed them but far behind and stepped in the class as Sai was leaving. He felt scared, he was unsure of if he should go up to Gaara and just tell him what was the matter or not. Then he thought of something and was happy that he was in acting class. He could easily incorporate what he needed to say to Gaara in the script.

Naruto blushed a little and smiled waving at Sai then sweat dropped when Gaara gave him a look. "W-What?" "Nothing...I didn't say anything.." Gaara replied smirking a little but when he glanced at Lee his eyes saddened and he looked away. "Oh did you guys have a great weekend?" Anko asked walking up to them.

"Mhm..." Lee replied to his teacher not really in the mood to talk to her and he walked over sitting near Gaara. The older boy waited until his teacher was done yelling at them then turned to Gaara. It took him a moment before he said, "Juliet do not be mad at me... I do not understand. What has made you angry?"

Gaara looked at Lee and narrowed his eyes at him. "You know Romeo don't play stupid..." He muttered and heard Naruto sigh behind him. "Oh hey did you guys notice they finely finished the set? All they need to do now is make the outfits." Naruto said with a sweat drop trying to distract them.

"No I do not know Juliet... you must believe me... I am confused as to why you think I am lying to you..." Lee said and glanced at the set for a moment only to have his eyes go back to Gaara. 'What did I do? I did not help them and I was so worried... why is Gaara mad at me?' He thought.

Gaara tightened his hand into a fist and pulled his hood down more. "Stop lying to me..." He said and stood up keeping his head down. Naruto tried to think of something else to say and bit his lip. "Uhhh...hey my new ring tone is a cat meowing wanna hear?" Naruto asked pulling out his cell phone.

"I am not lying!" Lee suddenly shouted and everyone looked at them then he brought his volume down. "Why are you mad? I was so worried after I came back and you were gone... I left to get chips... I do not know why you are so mad at me..." Lee muttered to Gaara ignoring Naruto.

"Yes you are!" Gaara spat and glared at him. "Y-You're the only one who knew about my a-art...how else would Sakura find out? You b-betrayed me! I thought you w-were friend I fucking trusted you!" He said his eyes starting to fill with tears again. "D-Don't ever speak to me a-again...I h-hate you, you s-stupid jerk!" He yelled and felt his heart start to hurt for saying that but ignored it and shoved Lee out of his way and ran out of the theater. There was a long silence then Naruto looked up at him. "Well...I think your girlfriend just won bitch of the year..." Naruto said and grabbed his crutches to get up.

Lee went to case after Gaara but was stopped by Anko and he sighed. For the next few weeks Gaara and Lee only spoke to each other when they had to and it was killing Lee. The dance was coming up soon and Lee really did not want to go with Sakura he wanted to go with Gaara. The redhead even resorted to staying at Riku's house to avoid Lee. Then one day the redhead came to school looking different. Not different as in he was wearing not normal clothes or his hair was a different color. Something about him had just simply changed and Lee picked up on it right away. Every time Lee would glance in Gaara's direction Riku would glare at him and Lee would look away. Yet when the other male didn't notice Lee looking he could see Riku kept occasionally fondling Gaara and smirking while whispering into his ear. That annoying feeling kept coming back to Lee but he bit his tongue understanding Gaara obviously was not going to listen to any reason. Finally it was the night of the infamous dance and Lee was dressed up as Sakura had told him too, her acting like he was a Ken doll. He refused to dance with her though; over the time that he had stopped talking to Gaara friendly she made comments about Gaara, hurtful comments that made Lee want to slap her. Lee actually wanted to slap a girl he thought he loved so much. It bugged him. While at the dance though Lee noticed Sakura dancing with Sasuke. Lee thought nothing of it not really minding until they left together. Lee did not see her for a while after that until he finally found her happily dazed and Sasuke was walking passed Lee away from Sakura while Lee walked to her. "Mine now..." He muttered and Lee felt his heart crack again. "Sakura..." Lee said walking over to her.

Sakura blinked when she noticed Lee and quickly straightened out her dress. "Oh uh hi Lee...you having fun?" She asked giving her best fake smile up at the older male.

"What were you doing with Sasuke..?' Lee asked moving closer to her. Hurt filled his eyes as he looked at her. For the last few weeks he really had been trying to find things he used to love about her but it was hard, she was just so unlovable to him.

"Nothing...I wasn't doing anything...wanna go get punch?" Sakura asked and cleared her throat. "Why are you wondering around anyway?" She added glancing around not looking at his eyes.

Lee grabbed her arm a little tightly and yanked on her to get her to look at him. "You are lying... when you lie you do not look me in the eyes... Sakura-chan... What... where you doing with Sasuke..?"

Sakura gasped in surprise that Lee was being forceful for once and looked up at him. "What's with you? We were uh...just talking?" She said and pulled out of his grip.

The man obviously was ticked off and he step in front of her again so she couldn't get away. "Sakura you are lying to me... f... fucking tell me what you were doing!" He yelled out tears filling his eyes as he looked away. He could not believe Sakura... Really why did he love her in the first place..?

Sakura blinked looking at him then crossed her arms and looked off to the side. "It shouldn't be too hard to figure that out Lee...you know I have liked Sasuke since I was a kid..." She replied dully.

"I cannot believe you!" Lee yelled. "You take me into your group asking so nice to me I finally ask you out and you say yes then you treat me like shit! You ruin my relationship with Gaara then say it is ok only to use it to hurt him destroying his wonderful artwork and you cheat on me with Sasuke... SASUKE of all god damn people!!" Lee yelled losing his temper. "I just... everyone is right! You are a bitch... that is all you ever have been and will be! We are done go have fun with Sasuke..." screamed the male his tears falling down his face in large streams and he turned wanting to just get away from the hurtful girl before anything bad happened. Lee just felt like hitting her, punching her hard to knock some sense into her.

Sakura winced then glared at him and moved past him. "F-Fine! Then I will go find him...why don't you go find the loser redhead." She snapped then ran off. When she finely found Sasuke she looped an arm around his neck. "Hey..."

Sasuke blinked and pushed her away unlooping her arms from his neck. "What are you doing...?" He questioned her noticing everyone at the dance was giving them weird looks.

"Wha? What do you mean? I thought you liked me..." Sakura said giving him a confused look.

Sasuke stared at her like she was crazy and laughed. "You can't be serious right? Sakura you have a cute face, but the rest of you is bitchy, there is no way I am ever going to date you..." He said to her and pulled back. "Maybe if you were nicer though, I mean hell you just gave up Lee who honestly is a great guy for me. You really have problems." Sasuke said to her and turned going to continue talking with his friends. Lee however was still taking it bad; outside he was punching the hell out of a tree trying to make he feel better. "I can... not... believe... her!!!"

"Oh come on! It's not that hard to dance!" Naruto yelled and Gaara rolled his eyes. "Says the guy who can't walk." Gaara replied and laid back on the bench folding his arms under his head. "You finely dress up all nice then put your sweat shirt back on what was the point of us getting ready? Do you hear that thudding noise?" Naruto asked then shrugged reaching down to mess up the redhead's hair which had been combed for once. "Hey...! Just go inside I'll be in later...I just want to sit out here for a bit." Gaara said and the blond sighed.

Lee stopped hitting the tree hearing the redhead and he moved walking over to him. "Um... Naruto... can I speak with Gaara in private..?" He asked stared at the ground un able to look at Gaara.

Gaara fell silent and then draped his arm over his eyes to block out the light above him. "Uh yeah sure Bushy-Brows..." Naruto said and set down his glass of punch next to Gaara's head then started to move over to the door. "Keep an eye on him he is my date for the dance." He added laughing a little then went inside to go find Kiba.

Lee moved the punch and sat down next to Gaara whipping his eyes to make sure there were still no tears there. "Gaara... I am sorry... I am so sorry or anything Sakura or I or any of the group has done to you... I want you to forgive me... I was not lying when I said I had nothing to do with what happened before... please. I need a friend right now..." Lee muttered still looking at the floor.

Gaara was silent a little longer then frowned. "Lee...I...ok first don't cry...you should shed tears over that...that...yeah..." He kept his arm over his eyes but moved his other hand up and set it on Lee's shoulder squeezing tightly trying to be comforting. "I heard what was said...just now with Sakura...I have kind of been sitting out here for an hour..." He added.

"..You... You heard..?" Lee asked then stood up. "I..." Lee started to pace and he raised his hands tugging at his hair. "I was just so mad at her and I really cannot believe what happened. This whole time I have been trying to get you to take me back as a friend and..." Lee continued going on a long rant still pacing in front of Gaara.

Gaara moved his arm and looked at Lee watching him pace back and forth. "Lee..." He said calmly but the older male kept pacing back and forth in front of the bench still ranting on. The redhead watched him for a bit more noticing how upset he was. "Lee...hey breathes." He ordered sitting up and trying to grab his jacket to stop his pacing. 'He is making me dizzy.'

Lee stopped because Gaara grabbed his jacket but he continues to rant, not stopping to even take one breath. He was saying sorry for every little thing he had ever done to the redhead and was not about to stop for one second. He just felt too bad.

Gaara stood up and stood in front of the older male setting his hands on his chest. "Lee! It's ok really calm down your making yourself cry..." He said but when that didn't work he lifted his hand thinking of maybe having to hit him but looking at Lee's eyes changed his mind and he blushed dark as yanked Lee down into a kiss to shut him up

Lee's words stopped on "And I hate Riku for-" And he was kissed. The older boy just simply melted into that Kiss leaning into Gaara a little and wrapping his arms around him un able to help himself. His tears slowly came to a stop and Lee was lost in the moment not going to pull away until the smaller boy did.

Gaara turned red feeling the arms around him and felt his heart start to race. 'I w-was just trying to calm him down I didn't think he w-would do that....' He thought and slowly pulled back to look up at him. "Y-You calm now? I really didn't want t-to have to s-slap you..." He said trying hard not to be shy.

Lee blushed and let go of the redhead realizing what they had just done. "Yeah I am calm now... I am sorry..." He said and looked down to the floor. "Just... you forgive me right..?" Lee asked reaching forward gently grabbing Gaara's sweatshirt like a little child. The truth was he knew he loved Gaara he always had but when they were little told him it was weird to like another he pushed those feelings away.

Gaara looked down at Lee's hand then sighed and wrapped his arms around him in a tight hug. "Yes...I forgive you..." He whispered and closed his eyes finely relaxing, he felt like a huge weight was off his shoulders and he set his head on Lee's chest listening to his fast heartbeat. 'That's a little odd...I thought he calmed down..?'

Lee tried to keep his breathing and heart rate normal but he was failing miserably. "So we can hang out more..?" He asked and raised his hand gently running his hand through Gaara's hair unaware Naruto was watching them because he had come back to get his drink but froze seeing the kiss between the two.

Naruto's jaw dropped and he felt anger well up inside him, he quickly went back inside to cool down not liking he was getting mad at Lee. Gaara smiled a little and nodded pulling back so he could look at Lee. "Yeah of course...calm down first your heart sounds like you're close to having a heart attack." He said playfully.

Lee blushed and looked off to the side trying to relax, starting to think of the first day that Gaara and Lee met.

~~Flash Back~~

"Ow... this hurts... gah..." Little Lee started squirming getting stuck in a hole of the fence across from his new home. His mother had decided to move recently and Lee thought he mansion across from the house was amazing. However when he tried to sneak in the bar of the fence caught his shirt and he was stuck. Little Lee closed one eye and was close to yelling for help not caring if he got in trouble when he spotted a small red boy about his age. "Hey! Will you help me?" He cried out to the small boy wiggling more in the fence.

The redhead stopped walking and blinked his light green eyes looking at Lee. "U-Um..." He looked nervous as he walked over and he hesitated before reaching up and tugging on the older boy's shirt.

After a while the other boy was finally tugged out of the fence and he landed with an oof on the floor. However he jumped right back up being spirited and grinned. "I did not know that this house had a kid too! You look so cool! Thank you for helping me!" Lee yelled youthfully and went to hug the smaller boy.

The little redhead squeaked and backed up quickly. "W-Why are you o-over here..." He stuttered and picked up his bear which he had set down to help Lee. He looked at older boy noticing he wore a green shirt and light brown shorts.

"I wanted to come look at this place! It is sooo big!" the boy called out looking around and opening his hands trying to show what he meant. Then he blinked a little. "You are stuttering are you sick?" Lee asked stepping close looking the small boy up and down who wore tan pants and a long sleeved red shirt that as a few shades darker then the mop of red hair he had.

Gaara hugged his bear closer to his chest and took another step back. "I-I'm not sick...y-you're getting to close...w-who are you?" He asked and looked down at his shoes not able to meet Lee's eyes anymore. He was extremely shy so it was a surprise he was talking at all.

"Oh so you are shy?" Lee asked and then grinned giving a thumbs up to Gaara. "My name is Lee Rock! I live across the road now!" He said happily. "My mommy and daddy said it would be a great home. Do you want to be my friend?" He asked obviously a happy jubilant child.

"I-I'm Gaara...Sabaku..." The redhead replied and rubbed his elbow. "Y-You...w-wanna be my f-friend?" He asked after a moment and hugged his bear again but even tighter. He started to look around the yard then back at Lee.

"Yeah it would be fun!" Then Lee grinned even wider and started to move closer to Gaara, ready to hug the smaller boy with no hesitation.

Gaara flinched and held up his stuffed toy thinking Lee was going to hit him. The little boy was always being bullied so he was scared of anyone taller than him.

Lee felt highly confused by Gaara holding up his teddy bear and looking so scared and the boy pulled back. "Why are you scared?" Lee asked frowning a little at the smaller boy.

"Y-Your...n-not gonna hit m-me?" Gaara asked moving the bear down and blinked his big green eyes up at Lee.

"Of course not!.. who hits you?" Lee asked a little concerned and he frowned a little at the smaller boy. "I just want to be friends with someone... not many kids like me..." Lee muttered a little looking down.

"T-The kids at s-school..." Gaara replied and blinked. 'They are mean to him to?' He thought then reached out grabbing the end of Lee's shirt and giving a small tug. "W-Wanna s-see the pond?" He asked keeping his gaze on the ground.

"Sure Gaa-kun!" Lee said happily and started to follow the smaller boy to the pond in his yard.
