CHAPTER 12
The blonde sighed as he, Sai, Tsunade and Jiraya sat in the conference room, answering a million and one question from the reporters. The movie had long ended and the Sannins decided it to be best to have the meeting with the journalists after the premiere. Naruto sighed once more. He would rather be with his handsome piece of a boyfriend, than answering stupid questions. Seriously, the things that were asked were so common and already abused that it made the event seem pointless. So far he had to open his mouth just a couple of times for, apparently, none was interested much in a new unfamiliar young actor. Great deal of all attention went to Sai, who basked in it, behaving like an excellently educated and well-mannered star at the top of the cream of the society.
Naruto could only snicker at the worshipping stares the brunette had been getting from the audience. He knew better than all of them put together the real nature of the famous actor: a top-notch pervert, second only to Jiraya. That thought made him smile warmly. Despite everything Sai had ever said and done, he could be a good friend. He was just a pervert. After all, weren't all people perverts? Not openly, no. Somewhere deep, dee~p, very dee~p down inside every human housed a pervert. No matter how small. So it was a natural occurrence.
Speaking of perversions...he wouldn't mind if Neji let out his inner pervert some time soon.
The relationship between Naruto and Neji developed slowly but surely for some time, despite the fact that they had already had sex before. Not that the memory of both times was clear in the blonde's mind. Every time he attempted to remember something his rebellious head drew a blank. He didn't even remember if it felt good or not. But now seeing how they got closer, he would definitely find out if Neji was as good in bed as he looked. And really it was already time to satisfy his hormones...and curiosity...and, well, just jump Neji's bones.
Naruto hadn't seen Sasuke since the first business meeting he attended with Neji, though that didn't make him feel better. There was just a bug somewhere in his head that kept reminding him that the Uchiha wouldn't leave him alone any time soon, especially after the said words. Not that it bothered him much. He had now people that would protect him. Besides, the bastard's words and actions didn't hurt him any longer. He could stand up for himself and spit the Uchiha in the eye. For some unfathomable reason it was something Naruto had wanted to do since the break up. He couldn't stop imagining Sasuke freaking out because of the spit that got into his precious eye and yelling that he would get contaminated by Uzumaki's idiocy. Well, damn, Naruto would laugh his ass off if that ever happened.
But, not matter how he wished to get some amusement at Sasuke's expense, it was not the time to dwell on it. As Naruto and Neji sat in the dark cinema about over an hour ago, flashes on the screen lightning their faces, the Hyuuga sulked like a little kid. The premiere of the 'Ninja Wars' attracted a lot of attention. Only when the screen lit up and minutes passed the audience realized that the mysterious blonde that arrived hand in hand with the brilliant Neji, had been one of the lead actors. Sai sat on Naruto's other side, grinning like mad every time the long haired brunette glared at him. Especially when Neji saw how many times Sai and Naruto had to make out for the movie.
FLASHBACK
Seriously, Naruto had the time of his life, getting his amusement from the Hyuuga's jealousy. Not everyday your boyfriend got burning eyes just from seeing you holding hands with another man on the screen. With another actor, no less. So the blonde enjoyed the time in the darkness while he could. He realized that when the credits were finished many eyes would be on him, following his every move. Earlier that day he saw Sasuke enter the cinema with some red-haired bimbo - he had no idea where had the man left Sakura to cry her eyes out, not that he cared - scoffing at the sight of his and Neji's hands intertwined.
To be completely honest, Naruto didn't look forward to the end of the movie, because knowing the Uchiha as well as he did, the Uzumaki just felt it in his bones that the evening would end up with a bloodshed...or a black eye...or a scandal in front of the press. Neither of the options appealed much.
Naruto snickered as he felt Neji's fingers twitch once again, while Sai kissed the life out of the bloody and torn blonde on the huge screen.
Surprisingly, there had been no negative reaction to the intimate scenes. Naruto anticipated at least some whistling or booing, because not everyone in the audience were mature enough to hold their opinion until the end of the film. Perhaps the attitude towards gay couples got better in the last years. In addition, many more people came out of the dusty closets, to live a normal, honest life. Part of them were famous which influenced their fans greatly. No sane person would hate someone they worshipped for years just because of the gender preferences. So yeah, probably due to all that, people became more tolerating, understanding and open.
On the screen the last part of the movie played.
Naruto/Kin: It's finally over. But I still can't believe you showed up. I thought you went back to your village! Sai/Kouhei: I did. But sometimes you realize that your home is where your heart is. So I came back. N/K: That's so sweet of you. Then...will you stay with me? It'll become your village too. S/K: That'd be nice, but I'm afraid I can't accept your offer. N/K: Huh? Why? Kouhei, I thought you loved me! S/K: I do. That's why you're coming with me. *Kouhei struck Kin in the back of his head, bent the unconscious man over his shoulder and took off.* S/K: You won't regret it, Kin, I promise you that. Naruto blinked as the credits started and then made a face. The ending was so cheesy. At least all the blood and making out during almost three hours of the movie compensated that...somehow. In the end, no matter the ending, or the weeks together with Sai - who loved being an ass - it was all worth the effort and time. He wouldn't regret being a part of it. Naruto grinned to himself, leaned to the brunette at his side and kissed a slightly sour-looking Neji. Pale eyes darted to the blonde and the expression changed to one of adoration.
END FLASHBACK
The Uzumaki frowned as he thought of his current relationship. Despite the time together Naruto rarely took the initiative. For some reason he gave the reins of their relationship to Neji and watched him steer it and set pace.
Some part of Naruto thought that the reason behind this was him wanting to be led, while the other part ridiculed the first thought and rolled on the floor in fits of roaring laughter. The biggest part of his inner self had been pretty adamant on the opinion that Naruto simply wanted Neji to crack and bring out his super manly side out that would simply come up to him and take him. The first part had whined that he didn't want the Hyuuga to behave like an animal in heat. Despite all the whining the first part started to like how the second one thought. It did sound appealing after some time of living with blue balls.
Naruto just hoped Neji wasn't one of those who waited until their lover 'was ready'. Utter bullshit if you asked the blonde. Why date someone you don't want to have sex with? The person that first said those words was a loser that couldn't get his little friend up. Besides, they already did it twice even BEFORE dating. So, something that happened to be the problem for Neji, wasn't registering in Naruto's head. His hormones had been on the ready for quite some time. They simply demanded some serious fucking to be done!
A pretty hard kick in the shin woke Naruto from a never-dying train of thought, just in time to hear a question addressed to him, all the while managing to miss the introduction. A female journalist stood in the second row, her brown eyes glued to the Uzumaki.
"Uzumaki Naruto, I think I'm not the only one here in this room has a certain question in mind. Are you the Uzumaki that dated Uchiha Sasuke?"
Naruto thought his heart stopped for a few seconds. Was this it? All that they cared about? Not his acting skills, not the new movie, not the main theme, but his connection to Sasuke was all they wanted to know. Somehow the bastard managed to fuck up one of the few days that was supposed to be the best in his whole life. Peachy eh? Sighing heavily, the blonde steeled himself for the unavoidable, blue eyes turning icy.
"Do you know many guys that have names identical to mine? Yes, it was me who dated Uchiha Sasuke."
Naruto didn't even need to see it, he could
feel animosity filling up the air. Fucking prejudiced people. Fucking Sasuke.
The same journalist turned all of her attention to Sai, her overly make-upped face almost ripping in half as gloss covered lips stretched into a parody of a sexy smile. Naruto shivered at the sheer amount of gloss. It felt as if it would start dripping onto her blouse any time.
"Sai, how had it felt to work so close with
such a person for a long period of time? I think the whole nation is dying to know."
The blonde's stomach made a few uneasy flips and fell down. Asking Sai thing about Naruto was not the best choice possible. The Uzumaki could already see the headlines in the next day's newspapers:
THE MYSTERY BEHIND THE BREAK UP OF THE YEAR IS REVEALED! UCHIHA SASUKE'S EX-PARTNER IS DICKLESS! WHO NEEDS A BLONDE LOVER WHEN HE DOESN'T HAVE A DICK? UCHIHA SASUKE IS SAVED FROM YEARS OF CELIBACY!
"Those were definitely the days I will cherish for the rest of my life. Naruto became a good friend of mine. Actually, my first friend. I got to know him very well and he is a brilliant person." Seeing confused stares he was getting, the brunette gave the journalists his winning smile. "You didn't think I would befriend a man with the characteristics that Uchiha Sasuke described, did you? Naruto is nothing you have heard about him, trust me."
As people around started laughing and agreeing with their most beloved star, wide blue eyes bore holes in a pale face. Naruto hissed in Sai's ear.
"Why did you do it?"
"I wanted you to owe me."
"Huh? What do you want?"
The brunette gave a barely noticeable wink to the blonde.
"I want to see the Hyuuga princess jealous face again. He's just too funny."
Naruto spent a few seconds watching his new friend and then nodded, supporting it with a beaming smile.
"Ok. But only because I agree that his reactions are just too good."
Both men smiled to each other and then went back to the press conference at hand. At least one problem was partly dealt with, thanks to Sai. All the negative rumors would most probably die down, as new, positive would start circulating. Now that left Naruto with only two problems: Sasuke himself and making Neji jump his ass.
