Chapter 12


~Jiraiya slammed his fists onto the oak desk that stood for his office workplace. He was furious, and he was getting a headache already, thinking how Tsuande was going to have his hide once she found out and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it.

~At the moment he was trying to field calls from irate parents and confused students. Having a six story dorm room evacuated was not something one could keep quiet either, the news people were also hounding him, trying to find a good story. When he had gotten the call from Sasuke his heart had almost stopped. Sasuke had not been holding back when he had yelled at him about the near death experience he and Naruto had been in. The funny thing, or not so funny thing was that from what Jiraiya could tell, it had been Sasuke who had come within an inch from getting bitten by the snake, but Sasuke had been more concerned and rather pissed off about the fact that it had been In Naruto’s backpack and that Naruto could have been killed.

~Jiraiya wanted to strangle Orochimaru, he could kill the man, and if the bastard hadn’t had a damn good reason for the snake being gone, his ass would have been grass and soo out of the university. As it was Orochimaru had reported a break in, into his personal office and showed great concern that several of his snakes had been stolen. Security had been to the office and reported that his lock and glass pane over his door had indeed been smashed open and several items taken or destroyed. Three snakes had been taken or released, from what he could gather. Two had been found within the first hour, only the Black Mamba had still been missing, till Sasuke had called and let them know in not so pleasant words, where the snake had been found and where it had disappeared to.

~Jiraiya sighed. Right now there was a special unit that handled the capture of dangerous and exotic animals, over at Kingdom Hall. They informed Jiraiya that the snake was still in the building and in the pluming, they were certain of that, so it was a relief to know that it hadn’t escaped into the open area’s. But the fact that they couldn’t pin point exactly where it was and how long it would take to actually get it out dead or alive was causing a lot of problems for Jiraiya. He could still hear Orochimaru ranting and raving about having his pet getting killed. Luckily it was Friday and a lot of students didn’t have classes tomorrow, most of them had already made plans to leave the campus or visit family for the weekend. But since it had still been early in the afternnon and the students still present when the snake had escaped, evacuating the dorm house had not been easy or pleasant. As it was he barely managed to avoid a panicked riot. It hadn’t stopped most of the students from calling their parents or guardians about it though and now he was delicately handling phone calls from furious parents. The rich families were the worst of the bunch and he was glad he hadn’t gotten a call from the Uchiha and Hyuuga heads yet, he didn’t even WANT to think about what they would threaten or do to him or the university. God he needed a drink.

~He sat down and went through his paperwork, making sure that those students who hadn’t planned on leaving and were supposed to stay in their dorms over the weak end, had someplace to stay. He had gotten temporary rooms for all of them for the weekend with upperclassmen, who hadn’t been all that happy about the arrangement thank you very much. He was actually pretty proud of Itachi Uchiha though. When he had found out about the whole thing, he was of course very upset, his brother had almost been killed and he was terribly fond of Naruto as well. But when Jiraiya explained the situation and what was going to happen, well Itachi offered his room, which was rather large, considering he was dorm captain of the senior dorms and as such, had earned a larger single occupancy room. It would fit at least three if not four students.

~Itachi had informed Jiraiya that he and Sasuke would be staying at their family home about an hour drive from the university, and even went so far as to invite Naruto and the occupants of the sixth floor dorm. It was a very generous offer that Jiraiya had not been able to say no to, after all the Uchiha household was like a hotel, it had mega spare rooms. Of course he had insisted that Naruto would be going back home with him and Tsunade, but Naruto had shown up in his office not long after and pretty much shouted at the top of his lungs and after killing Jiraiyas ear drums, had informed Jiraiya that he WAS staying with Sasuke and Itachi and that Jiraiya couldn’t stop him and if he even tried, he would make the rest of Jiraiya’s life a living hell. Jiraiya didn’t doubt that his hot headed, idiotic ward would do everything he threatened. So he had not pushed the issue.

~”You fucking careless freaky looking snake bastard!! I’m gonna shove that grin into your fucking throat! Asshole!” Yelled a very pissed off blond, who was currently trying to beat the living daylights out of a rather unphased looking Professor Orochimaru.

~”Naruto! Calm down!” Iruka pleaded in a commanding but caring tone of voice as he and Kakashi were currently holding back the very strong blond. It was taking everything he and Kakashi had to keep Naruto out of reach of Orochimaru, who was just standing there with a bloody lip but other wise showed no sign of emotion. He just stood there.

~Really, Iruka was trying to keep himself from actually letting Naruto go to do the man more harm. Boss or no the man didn’t look one bit upset that one of his students had almost been bitten by one of his snakes, let alone phased that it had found its way into Naruto backpack. In fact it looked like he was more upset that the special animal unit might actually kill his pet then the snake doing any harm to any of his students or anyone else. But he couldn’t let Naruto get in trouble and assaulting a teacher whether you were the adopted son of the Dean of the University or not, was a criminal offense.

~”Look at him Iruka sensei?! The bastard isn’t even SORRY that Sasuke was almost killed! What kind of sick demented freak cares more about his fucking snake than the life of one of his students?!” Naruto shouted, making another lunge for the pale long haired man, who looked as he was retraining himself from smirking. That Bastard! Naruto seethed. But Iruka and Kakashi had a good grip on him and he wasn’t able to get any further than he was now.

~”On the contrary Naruto-kun, I am very distressed about the whole situation, in fact I am relieved beyond belief that no one was hurt, especially Sasuke-kun, he is one of my prized students and I would have been devastated had he been harmed in anyway, but as you know I was not the one who let the snakes out, in fact I was quit upset about the break in, I am just glad no one was hurt and now I just want to get my specimen back unharmed, he is after all crucial to many of my projects, projects that will help to further enhance medical break throws that will help man kind, I understand that you are upset, but I think you should be more angry at whoever broke into my private offices and released my snakes than at me.” explained Orochimaru, in that slick oily voice of his that showed no emotion at all. Naruto always hated his voice and it grated on his damn nerves even more now.

~”You lying bastard!” Naruto gritted out threw clenched teeth. For some reason Naruto could just tell by the look in his eyes and the blank expression on his face that the slick bastard was smirking inside. He couldn’t prove it but Naruto was SURE that Professor Orochimaru knew about the snake. But why? What purpose would it have accomplished? Naruto couldn’t figure it out, his head hurt to think of it, but he just KNEW, knew that Orochimaru was not so innocent in all this that he professed.

~”Naruto that is enough, lets leave Professor Orochimaru alone.” Iruka stated, that teacher voice, stern but not over the top stern, stated as he and Kakashi practically dragged Naruto out of the room. Naruto didn’t struggle or shout obscenities like both adults had been sure he would, but they could both feel the way Naruto’s body shook. Neither had ever known Naruto to get that angry before. They were concerned.

~None of them noticed the look those cold reptilian like eyes shot at Naruto as Iruka and Kakashi dragged him out of the office, or the malice in which his glare was directed at the blond. The very sight of the boy made Orochimaru want to strangle the boy and watch the life drain out of him. Oh how he hated the sight of that face, the blond hair, the blue eyes, that smile that he just wanted to wipe off of that to happy face. Professor Orochimaru was upset that his pet had not been able to accomplish its purpose, and apart of him was glad that it had not bitten is prized student, for although he despised the very sight of Naruto, he didn’t want any undo harm coming to the youngest Uchiha. Orochimaru had to be more careful. With this screw up, eyes would be on him and he would not be able to try anything else for sometime. But he could wait. He was patient, after all, he had waited 18 years for that boy to grow up, and fate was on his side when it decided to send him to the very university that he taught in. So he just had to wait a bit longer, and then he would finally have some revenge on that blond blue eyed bastard.

AN-okies next chapter, hope you guys like it and I will get into Orochimaru more and no he is NOT the thing or things haunting the sixth floor dorm room. Huggles and smiles Mija.
