=================================================

The ride to the airport was pretty uneventful. They didn’t have too much time before their flight and they wasted it easily, just drinking coffee and talking. They boarded their flight alright and were soon up in the air, on their way to their honeymoon. They were in first class and Naruto had managed to steal the window seat.

“I don’t like flying,” he admitted quietly, reaching for Sasuke’s hand. “Maybe I should nap… but I’m not really tired after all that coffee.”

Sasuke wrapped an arm around his husband, pulling the blond close. “You should have said something... I have something that might help you relax.” He pulled out a small bottle of pills and handed it to the blond.

“You’re gonna drug me up?” Naruto grinned, taking the bottle to read the label. He pressed his service button and when the stewardess came, he asked for some water. She brought it quickly and he swallowed two of the pills. “Thanks, S’uke. I just never really think of it until I’m actually on a plane.”

Snuggling next to his lover, Sasuke couldn’t help but feel absolutely content with the way his life was going. After the whole incident with Sakura... the fact that he almost had to marry her... he really did feel lucky, having such a wonderful partner to spend the rest of his life with. “It’s ok... just try and relax; it’ll only be a couple more hours.”

When Sasuke got up to use the restroom, Naruto popped another pill for luck. They usually never really affected him, and he needed to get rid of the anxiety he felt. After about a half hour, they seemed to kick in all of a sudden. He felt light-headed and woozy – almost drunk.

“Holyyyy shit,” the blond gaped, looking to Sasuke with wide eyes. “What the fuck’d you give me, S’uke?”

Sasuke wasn’t quite sure what to say. He really hadn’t expected the pills to effect his lover so much. “How many did you take? I mean, I’ve never had a reaction like that... Not that it’s bad.” Sasuke knew that everyone reacted to medication differently but the stuff was practically over the counter, the prescription was mostly just a formality.

“Two,” Naruto answered. “No wait, three. I figured they were just shitty pills and wouldn’t work well… So I thought if I took an extra one, they would definitely work. Looks like I was right.” He giggled and leaned heavily against Sasuke. “But ‘m not nervous anymore, so that’s good. I can’t really think about anything enough to be nervous.”

Sasuke chuckled and took the bottle back from the blond, placing it in his bag. “Ok...no more for you. We should be landing in another hour or so... what do you want to do when we get to the hotel?”

“I dunno,” Naruto shrugged, laying his head down against Sasuke’s shoulder. “Go to the pool or something… It’s been cold lately and we’re not used to hot weather so we might need to cool down.” He closed his eyes and sighed quietly. “Or the ocean… It’s been a long time since I’ve swam in anything but a pool.”

Sasuke smiled and pulled Naruto closer. “I’m up for anything as long as I’m with you...” He kissed the blonde’s temple gently and spent the rest of the plane ride in silence, just enjoying the closeness they shared.

After landing, the two were greeted by another limo that would take them to their hotel. The pills had made Naruto rather groggy after the effects began to wear off and he was practically falling asleep against Sasuke as they drove.

The raven sat Naruto up carefully, as they pulled into the hotel’s large driveway. “Wake up baby... we’re here.”

Sakura cackled as she stood in her home office with the photo’s spread out over her desk. She’d gotten them enlarged to clearly show what was going on. Beside them, an envelope addressed to Fugaku Uchiha lay.

Since the day of the wedding, she’d been brooding. Well, not quite brooding. Sasuke had been hers, first. But then that bitch of a poser had shown up, trying to steal the Uchiha name for her – his – own. To go so far as to cross-dress… She could understand that. She would do anything to have back what was rightfully hers.

And she would.

Picking up the photos, she slid them into the stamped envelope and sealed it up tightly. She wrote ‘Urgent’ in big, red letters to capture Fugaku’s attention and then donned her coat and shoes, heading for the nearest mail box. Her grin never faded. If anything, it only grew as she slid the envelope inside, knowing that soon – very soon – she would have her way.

Sasuke poured two more drinks behind the bar and slid them to their respectful owners and then sighed as he was finally able to relax for half a second. The place was packed; it was doing better than it ever had, hence why he had offered to help his husband out a couple nights a week.

It had been two months since their honeymoon and life couldn’t have been better for the married couple. They were as happy as they imagined they would be and Sasuke cherished every day he was able to wake up next to his beautiful husband.

The raven glanced over at said blond, the man in his usual Lolita dress for the bar. The blond had gotten quite a few to add to his collection when they had decided to spend an extra week in Japan like they had discussed. Of course the one Naruto had chosen to wear that night was one that the Uchiha had surprised him with as a gift on the last night of their honeymoon.

Naruto frowned as he rubbed a spill off his new purple and black plaid dress. He wet it in the sink and quickly cleaned it off. The dress had become his favorite as soon as he’d gotten it. The material was so soft and it was really expensive. But just the fact that it had come from Sasuke… It was special.

As there was a lull in customers, he made his way over to Sasuke and grasped his hand, squeezing it. “How’s it going, S’uke? Do you like working here?”

The raven gripped Naruto’s hand and pulled him close wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Of course I do. You have no idea how good it feels to work in a fast paced job after years of sitting in an office...” He smiled and kissed his husband’s cheek gently before letting go to serve the newest patron. His eyes never left Naruto though as he worked.

“I bet… I couldn’t imagine being stuck behind a desk all the time,” Naruto smiled, leaning in to Sasuke for the few seconds they were allowed together. Not once in the past two months had he even wished for a moment alone. Nothing made him happier than being with his husband all the time. “S’uke… when we close, I need to talk to you about something. Don’t let me forget.”

The raven nodded and gave Naruto one more kiss to the cheek as he passed him on his way to grab a bottle of Vodka. “I won’t let you forget... It sounds important. Am I in trouble?” He raised an eyebrow, his smile turning playful.

“Not unless you wanna be,” Naruto smirked, giving Sasuke’s ass a little pinch as he passed by once more. He couldn’t seem to erase his smile as he spoke with a customer and then began making a complicated drink. His eyes kept flicking to the side to watch the raven from the corner of his eye.

He looked… hot. So confident behind the bar and making drinks. The women loved him. They all argued and fought together to order the drinks, just for a chance to speak to him. It made Naruto feel absolutely wonderful, knowing he was married to the person that everyone – male and female – wanted. He got to go home with him every single night.

Glancing down at his gleaming rings, he suddenly felt so full. So complete. Everything was absolutely perfect and he didn’t think anything could change that.

The time passed quickly, the bar being busy up until the last couple hours of the bar being open. Sasuke busied himself with cleaning up; making sure everything was in its proper place for closing. He was curious as to what Naruto wanted to talk to him about, he knew it really wasn’t anything to be worried about, the blond seemed happy at the time and he didn’t sense any worry from his husband.

Once the doors were locked and the lights turned off with the exception of Naruto’s office, Sasuke sat on the edge of the desk as his husband went over some paperwork.

“So... what did you want to talk to me about?” he asked, his body leaning over onto his hip so he was half laying on his side on the blonde’s large desk.

“Since you started helping out here, S’uke, everything’s been going better,” Naruto started, leaning back in his chair and smiling at his raven.  “Everyone loves you and you’re much better at making business decisions than I am. Since you started working with me, business has doubled. So I wanted to give you this.”

Picking up a folder, he slid it closer to Sasuke, worrying at his bottom lip as he did so. “You don’t have to… but you’re my husband and I’d really like it if you accepted.”

Opening the folder, Sasuke looked over what appeared to be paperwork that had been drawn up legally to split the business down the middle between the two of them. The raven was speechless as he just stared at the papers and then looked up at the blond, his eyes full of the emotions he couldn’t vocalize.

“Are you sure about this? This is a big step to take with the business. I mean, I am so happy that you feel that you can share this wonderful thing you’ve created but... is it really what you want?” Of course Sasuke knew Naruto was sure, or he wouldn’t have offered but Sasuke just wanted to make absolutely sure he gave the blond an opportunity to change his mind.

“I’m sure. It’s what I want.” Naruto smiled and reached for Sasuke’s hand, lacing their fingers together. “The bar wouldn’t have gotten this far if it wasn’t for you. I share everything with you, S’uke, and I want to share this, too. I want Rasengan to be both of ours.”

Sliding his hand from the raven’s, he replaced it with a pen. “I want you to be my partner in this. If you’ll accept it.”

Sasuke didn’t hesitate another moment. His smile grew as he took the pen in hand, signing in all the right places before closing the folder and pulling Naruto forward for a long thorough kiss. He loved the man with everything he had and sharing something that Naruto cared so much about, besides their relationship, was nothing but flattering to Sasuke.

“You know what this means right? I get an excuse to take you out tomorrow night... not that I need one since you’ll willingly follow me anywhere... right?” Sasuke’s playful smirk was back as he gave the blond smaller kissers, not letting the other escape.

“Right,” Naruto grinned. “I would have to be out of my mind to not follow you around.” Snickering, he leaned in and caught Sasuke’s lips in another kiss, not even making an attempt to escape. “I’ll bring the documents to my lawyer tomorrow and we’ll get it taken care of asap. Before you whisk me away for the night.”

“Come to think of it... we can get some celebrating in right now.” The raven’s smirk widened as he slid down to his knees in front of Naruto’s chair and looked up at those bright blue eyes he loved so much. Apparently the world hated him as his phone chose that moment to ring.

Muttering a curse as he saw his father’s number flashing on the screen, he stayed where he was, not expecting the call to be lengthy. “Hello father, to what do I owe this call at three in the morning?”

“I expect you to be here first thing in the morning,” Fugaku replied, his tone leaving no room for argument. “And bring Naruko – or should I say, Naruto? – with you.”

The phone clicked as it was hung up and then the dial tone chirped loudly as Fugaku abruptly hung up.

Those words made Sasuke’s stomach drop as he sat there for a moment trying to comprehend what had just happened. His father knew... how? Did Sakura manage to see him and show him the ‘proof’? Or maybe he found out on his own... Shit, he didn’t know what to do...

“Who was it?” Naruto asked worriedly as he saw Sasuke’s reaction to the call. He sat up straight, his lust immediately gone as the seriousness of the situation washed over him – even if he didn’t know what the hell was happening.

“Sasuke?” He placed his palm against the raven’s cheek to capture his attention. “What is it?”

The raven stood and put his phone in his pocket, not saying anything for a moment. His mind was racing. What was going to happen?

“My father wants to see us tomorrow... he knows.” Saying it out loud was even worse, knowing that he was going to worry his husband, there was no doubt that they were in it deep.

“Knows…? Knows what…?” Naruto’s face drained of colour as he realized exactly what that meant. His eyes were wide and frightened and he shook his head. “S’uke, let’s not go. What can he do? We’re already married, and… Please… Let’s just, I don’t know… But we can’t go. We can’t.”

The raven sighed and pulled Naruto into a standing position, wrapping his arms around the man he loved. “We have too... I’m not going to run away from this. I love you Naruto and no matter what he says, it’s not going to change anything.”

Naruto wrapped his arms around Sasuke in return and rested his cheek against his husband’s strong chest. “But you know what he’s going to say. He’s going to say we have to get an annulment and it would be accepted because I lied about something so big… Sasuke, he’s going to try and break us apart, and… I’m scared.”

He hated admitting it, but it was true. “I don’t want to go, but I understand what you’re saying… God, this sucks. How did he find out, anyway? Do you think that Sakura girl did something…?”

“I have no doubt she did something. The bitch never wanted to see me with anyone else...” He continued to hold Naruto lose. He didn’t want to admit it, but he was scared as well. He knew no matter what he would not accept his father’s demands. He knew the man’s standpoint on homosexuality... Perhaps that was why he never allowed himself to explore a relationship with another man until he had met Naruto... But he couldn’t dwell on that now.

“Everything will be alright baby, I promise.” Sasuke’s lips met Naruto’s in a comforting kiss, one that he poured every emotion he felt for the blond into.

Naruto sighed quietly into the kiss, sliding his arms up around Sasuke’s neck. He returned the kiss wholeheartedly, his tongue slipping into his husband’s mouth, as though trying to lap up all of the emotions he could feel.

“If he cuts you off, S’uke, it’ll be okay. I know that will suck but the bar’s doing so well now and you own half.” He smiled and pressed his forehead to Sasuke’s. “Either way, we’ll still be together.”

Sasuke nodded, his eyes never leaving Naruto’s. “He may threaten to cut me off but I don’t think he will. Although I am a bit curious to see what ‘evidence’ Sakura found. I mean, if it’s just you and me together... you know, you as Naruto... then there’s a chance we can explain that to my father. As far as I know, he doesn’t know about your ‘twin’.”

“It depends what you and my ‘twin’ were doing,” Naruto sighed, tracing his fingers up and down Sasuke’s spine. He was quiet for a few minutes, just soaking up the comfort the Uchiha always brought him. “Do you think I should go as Naruko tomorrow? I mean, if he knows… I don’t know. This is so fucked up.”

Sasuke was at a loss of what to do as well. He really needed to think about what they were going to do. “I’m not sure what he has so... maybe you should go as Naruko, just in case we can save this situation.  Plus, I have a few questions for him as well, depending on what Sakura had sent him. I’m guessing their probably pictures.”

“Okay, but… I’m going to feel so fucking stupid dressing as a girl if he really does have proof and knows for sure,” Naruto muttered, pulling away. “I hate this. If only I hadn’t ever started this lie… Maybe…” He worried his bottom lip as he turned away, crossing his arms over his chest. “Maybe I should just stop doing it…”

Sasuke didn’t let Naruto escape his arms as he pulled the blonde against him. “Don’t say that baby. You do what makes you happy; don’t stop just because of this. I know it seems bad but I’m not going to let my father ruin what we have. I love you just like this... whether you want to dress like a guy or a girl, it doesn’t matter to me, I know who you are regardless.” He kissed Naruto’s lips again, needing the blond to know he supported his husband one hundred percent. “Don’t let him intimidate you into not being who you want to be... he’s done that my whole life and I’m sick of it. I don’t even care if he cuts me off, I love you and he’s not going to separate us.”

“I know… I shouldn’t even say anything like that,” Naruto muttered. “But it gets kind of… tiring, you know? It’s a lot of work. I’m living two lives, pretty much. Sometimes I just wish I could stop… but I don’t really want to, so…”

Waving his hand, the blond shook his head. “Never mind, now I’m moving onto more shit. But I know it’ll be okay. I have you and your dad can’t take you from me.”

Sasuke nodded and kissed the blond again. “Let’s go... I need to feel better and I know just what will help with that.” He offered a small smile, trying to make Naruto feel a little bit better, not that it was that easy.

The next morning found the couple standing outside of the Uchiha estate.  Naruto, following what Sasuke had said to him the night before, wore his normal ‘Naruko’ outfit. He was dressed conservatively, but carried a bigger bag with an extra outfit in it – a male outfit, just in case.

“It’ll be okay…” the blond repeated for what felt like the millionth time.

As soon as they stepped inside, the butler was waiting for them. “Your father is in his study, along with your mother and brother.”

Naruto reached for Sasuke’s hand, lacing their fingers together as they were led towards the study. He felt almost like a prisoner being led to his death…

Before Sasuke knocked, he turned to the blond after the butler had left and placed his hands on the man’s waist. “It’ll be alright... I love you regardless of what my father says. I know my mother is on our side but I’m not sure about Itachi. He’s pretty open minded despite his outward appearance so... I can never really tell with him.”

He knew he was rambling, something he had picked up from his husband over the last couple weeks. “It’ll be okay...”

Naruto said nothing, only squeezed his husband’s hand to let him know he’d heard. He was way too keyed up and scared to say anything at all, but he leaned into Sasuke’s side regardless, seeking comfort.

A second later, Fugaku’s voice sounded, inviting them in. He stood as they entered, his face devoid of any emotion. His eyes spoke volumes; they were as cold as ever.

“I am disgusted by you,” Fugaku began, his eyes flicking to Naruto.

“And you.” He looked to Sasuke, and then reached for the folder on his desk, taking out the picture of them kissing. He held it out to his son. “This marriage was supposed to boost the family’s reputation, and instead it has put us to shame. How dare you try to dampen our name, everything we have worked for. Do you realize what people will think if this gets out? Have you thought about the repercussions? We will be the laughing stock of the entire town.”

Sasuke hadn’t been quite sure what to expect when he had entered his father’s office but once those words left the man’s mouth, there was no doubt about how he felt; angry.

“And what’s the worst that can happen father? Contrary to what you think about the world, it’s not so horrible to be in love with someone who happens to be the same gender. You’re just closed minded, you always have been.” His arm never removed itself from around Naruto’s waist. “Naruto wasn’t deceiving anyone. This is who he is and it just so happens that’s who he is as well and I find no fault in that and love him regardless. Nothing you say or do will ever make me leave him.”

“Contrary to what you think, Sasuke, I have no problem with Naruto being of the same gender. If you had come to me in the beginning and told me the truth, things would have been resolved immediately. However, now we have your spurned ex to deal with. She will take this to the public, and I won’t have our assets come to ruin because the two of you thought it would be better to hide this.”

Fugaku sat heavily in his chair, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers in a rare display of anxiety.

“I don’t presume to know why you hid this, but I won’t let everything I worked for crumble because of it. You will end this marriage through an annulment, lest you be excluded from this family, Sasuke. That is my final word.”

Mikoto moved a centimeter, looking like she was about say something but stopped, she’d let Sasuke answer first, if things went the way she thought they would, then she would speak up.

The youngest Uchiha wasn’t fooled by his father’s ‘acceptance’ of his homosexuality. He knew exactly where his father stood and the bastard was trying to make himself look good, as always.

“I don’t believe you. I don’t believe you would have accepted Naruto at all if you knew he was a man and we still wanted to get married. Do you know how I know that? Because you’re always focused on your image, making yourself look like the ‘good guy’ in any situation; anything to make the public eye love you. Well I don’t buy it at all. I’ve lived in this household all my life, father; I know better.” He pulled Naruto a bit closer, he could feel the anxiety start to take over the blond by the slight shaking of his husband’s body. “I don’t care if you cut me off or disown me, I’m not leaving Naruto and we’re not getting an annulment.”

“Think what you want,” Fugaku replied, seemingly unperturbed by his son’s words. “If you can’t follow direction from your father, then you are no longer part of this family. From this moment on, you are cut off.”

Naruto’s eyes teared up and he looked at Sasuke before looking back to Fugaku. “Please…” he whispered. “I’m really sorry it ended up this way… I never meant for any of this to happen. I know it was wrong for me to hide it, but I… I love Sasuke, and all I wanted was to be with him. It’s not something that’s easy to understand. I know I’m different and I’m not what you expected, but…”

“Enough.” Fugaku held his hand up. “Sasuke has made his choice. There is no reason for you to keep carrying on.”

“I can’t take this anymore...” Mikoto finally stepped away from her husband and eldest son and rounded the desk to stand next to Sasuke and Naruto. “I can’t just stand by and watch you cast our son aside like he means nothing. Do you even love him at all? If you did... you wouldn’t care so much about your image. You’ve always put work before your family Fugaku and I can’t stand by quietly and watch you single handedly ruin what we’ve built together.”

She glanced to Itachi quickly, her son not seeming to acknowledge anything. She sighed in disappointment. “I won’t let you ruin something that is truly right. Unless you are a complete monster, you’ll realize what you’re doing to our family is wrong... If you can’t even do that much then... I’m not sure if I can be a part of what we’ve created any longer.”

Sasuke stared at his mother in awe. He had never seen her stand up for herself like that and he was extremely proud of her for doing so. Taking her hand in his, he gave it a gentle squeeze, letting her know he was there for her. The ball was now in his father’s court, everything was now on a thin wire... however, he wasn’t too confident that his mother’s words would do any good; knowing his father.

“I think you fail to realize that this wasn’t my doing. It was our son that made the decision to lie, knowing what the repercussions may be,” Fugaku replied, though his calm exterior seemed to have wavered a tad after his wife’s speech. “You would have me stand by and do nothing? You would have him not be punished at all for what he’s done? It is not I that is ruining what we’ve built, it’s him. Does it seem to you like he cares?”

The eldest Uchiha straightened his tie and looked hard at both Sasuke and Mikoto. “He has never cared about the Uchiha name, nor what his actions might to do this family, unlike Itachi. He does not deserve the life that comes with being an Uchiha when he has done nothing to contribute to it. And not just with this incident. It has always been that way.”

Opening a desk drawer, Fugaku pulled out a bottle of fine brandy and a small cup. He poured himself a bit and took a sip. “Do what you will,” he said, waving his hand dismissively. “Keep our name, take my money and remain a part of this family. But you are no concern of mine anymore.”

Mikoto didn’t move from where she stood. “You think you can just say what you think I want to hear and I’ll just drop it? I’m tired of this Fu... it’s only going to happen again and again. I know you don’t care, you just don’t want the press to be all over us for something other than your perfect family name.” With that she gave an apologetic look to Sasuke before leaving the room.

Sasuke didn’t know what his mother was going to do. He wasn’t sure what was happening to his family, it was obviously falling apart at the seams and it was unfortunate that Naruto had to be witness to it.

“I’m not sure I can associate with the name Uchiha any longer. I can’t handle the constant pressure you’ve always put on me as a child, on all of us. And now you’ve most likely driven mom away. I hope you’re proud of yourself.” He gave one last look to Itachi, begging with his eyes to agree. When he got nothing once more, he took Naruto’s hand and turned to leave. “Don’t worry about your precious money, I don’t want it.” And with that, he left the office for the last time.

As soon as they were outside, Naruto broke down. It was all his fault, no matter what anyone said. It was his fault that Sasuke’s family was falling apart and that he was being disowned. All because he wasn’t normal. All because he was a cross dresser.

As soon as they were in the car, Naruto tugged his wig off and threw it in the back. He reached into his purse and took out some wipes, using them to scrub all his makeup off. And then he began tugging his dress off, not caring at all if anyone saw. Tears dripped down his cheeks as he stripped and then changed into the spare pair of clothes he’d brought, some jeans and a t-shirt.

How could someone’s parents be so cruel and uncaring? He didn’t understand at all. But even that didn’t dull the fact that he’d caused it. No matter what Sasuke or anyone said.

“Naruto...” Sasuke sighed as he watched the blond. He let the man do what he wanted, his husband was angry and he couldn’t really take it away and say everything was alright. “It’s not you at all Naruto... my father is the only one that doesn’t approve and it’s only because he’s so self-absorbed in his own success. Our family would have fallen apart eventually, you had no contributing factor into this mess... He’s just using you as a scapegoat.”

“Maybe it was already falling apart, I don’t know. All I know is that I’m what finally made it snap.” Naruto wiped angrily at his eyes, clearing the moisture away. “I don’t care if he’s using me. Even if he is using me as an excuse, it was still me.”

Sniffling, he wiped at his eyes again and then crossed his arms over his chest. He was suddenly filled with the urge to see his own dad, to be surrounded by that love and attention only a parent could give. But he didn’t want to leave Sasuke alone to suffer… “Sas, can we… can we go to my dad’s?”

The raven nodded and leaned over, turning Naruto’s head toward him as he pressed his lips against his husband’s. “It’s going to be alright baby... my dad’s better off without me there anyway. He won’t have to deal with me...” He started the car after buckling up and drove away from  his childhood home. He knew it wouldn’t be the last time he was there. It wasn’t over by a long shot.
