Chapter 14: Epilogue - The end
___________________________________

____________

One week later
____________

Sasuke sat on a moss-covered rock, gazing ahead at the blue lake tucked into the small glen. The giant trees of the forest enclosed it, and the canopy only let in small splashes of sunlight that glinted beautifully off the still waters.

Naruto had left for Konoha to announce that Uchiha Sasuke was no longer affiliated with the Leaf Village. He’d explained to his dobe that Tsunade was well aware of this fact, as he’d handed his hitai-ate over personally, but Naruto was more concerned with the Leaf shinobi that had come close to the hidden kitsune village on the day of their wedding.

There had been no doubt in either of their minds that it had been Sakura and a few others that would risk the wrath of the Hokage, great lord, and the Uchiha just to get him back. After all, Sakura had done an awful lot to get him back from Orochimaru.

So Naruto had gone to make sure that no Leaf shinobi ever set foot in the hidden kitsune village, other than for a request of aid. And to really hit where it hurt, Naruto had dawned his ceremonial kimono that had the Uchiha-Uzumaki crest on it. What had his dobe called it, a brand?

Nothing but the familiar scent of jasmine alerted Sasuke to the presence of his new bride. He didn’t move, but when strong arms wrapped around his chest, Sasuke leaned back into Naruto’s chest, his left arm reaching behind him to curl his fingers in soft, golden hair and brought Naruto’s lips to his own as he titled his head up.

The kiss was slow and deep, a hearty hello after a week of separation. They hadn’t even been able to enjoy a proper wedding night as Sakura and the others had lingered through the rain, vainly trying to find the village, or any sign of the Uchiha’s passing.

“Welcome home,” he breathed against Naruto’s lips once they parted.

“Good to be here.”

“What did Tsunade say?”

“Well, she said that she already knew you weren’t a citizen of Konoha anymore,” his love paused to glare at him, knowing Sasuke was going to say he’d told him so, “And then Jiraiya and I twisted Tsunade’s arm until she agreed to announce the glad tidings to the village.” Naruto chuckled evilly. “Maa, it’s good to be the king. Nearly every girl in that village wanted to tear me apart, but one glare and they were shittin’ their thongs.”

“Lovely language, dobe.”

“Hey, you married Naruto, not Kazahaya.”

“Something I’m sure I may regret one day.”

“Bastard.”

They shared another kiss, and then Naruto moved in front of him and pulled him off the rock. One of his clawed hands threaded through his hair and brought him in for a kiss, tongue asking for entrance into his mouth. Sasuke granted it access with a moan, as Naruto’s other hand began roaming his body.

“Let’s take a dip in the lake, Sasu-chan.”

“Hai.”

They divested themselves of clothing, heedlessly tossing their garments on the grass, and made their way to the lake’s edge. Naruto slipped in and turned around, reaching his hand out for Sasuke to take. A little embarrassed, and a lot annoyed, Sasuke smacked the hand away and waded in after him.

“I am not a girl, dobe.”

“Could have fooled me, Sasuke-sweet.”

“Shut it.”

Naruto chuckled and glided closer him, arms going about his waste, chest pressing against his back. Sasuke sighed at Naruto’s natural warmth, helping him cope with the cold temperature of the water.

“You didn’t overdo it on this trip, did you?”

“No, love, the baby is fine. I wouldn’t let anything happen to it.”

“I still can’t believe I’m able to have children with you, Naru-dobe.”

“Neither can I, Sasu-chan.”

Of course, Sasuke understood that Naruto meant that in a different way, and it wasn’t idiotic to think it might never have happened. Looking back at everything that had transpired ever since Naruto came back into his life, though it had been unbeknownst to Sasuke for a while, things could have easily kept them apart.

In fact, the night of his bachelor party, when he’d told the entire village that he’d ‘decided,’ the decision hadn’t been to accept Kazahaya-sama’s proposal. It had been to cancel the wedding. And then that night, seeing the soft and handsome face of Kazahaya-sama dissolve into his gorgeous Naruto, seeing the golden bracelet that adorned his wrist, Sasuke knew he had to leave with the dobe, or he’d never get the chance again.

A warm pair of lips to his neck brought him back to the present, as well as Naruto’s claws ghosting over his abs and hips. Sasuke shivered. He recalled that time in his cell, when he’d taken Naruto for the second time, how good it had felt to have that kind of power over a creature so dangerous. But now that creature had him in a compromising position, and instead of being annoyed, Sasuke was kind of thrilled.

One of the teasing hands traveled to his abs again, and then lower to tangle in his thatch of curly black hair. Claws gently scratched the sensitive skin of his groin, and Sasuke moaned low in his throat. The other hand traveled from his hip up his chest to gently scratch at his pert nipples, first one and then the other, until Sasuke was panting with the pleasure.

“I don’t want my claws doing any damage, so why don’t you prepare yourself?” Naruto whispered in his ear.

“Y-you’re going to f-fuck me?”

A husky chuckle tickled his ear, and Naruto said, “Well, I’m already pregnant, so there’s really no need for you to fuck me.”

Sasuke idly wondered if that meant he was never going to be able to fuck his lovely, and tight, dobe again, but Naruto’s right hand grabbed the base of his erect cock and slowly stroked up its length before flicking his thumb nail across the slit. Sasuke was grateful they’d stuck to the shallows, since his knees gave out and he wasn’t that big on drowning. Either way, Naruto caught him and held him close until Sasuke got his balance back.

Hesitantly, Sasuke started to move his right arm behind him, and as his index finger brushed against his pucker, Sasuke felt heat rise to his cheeks. It wasn’t as if he’d never fingered himself before, but he’d never done it in front of someone. Taking a deep breath, Sasuke hoped the water was enough lubrication and pushed his finger in. After the initial pain, Sasuke began to thrust his finger slightly in and out, working the muscles before he pushed it in deeper. The sensation was intoxicating, really, and when Naruto once again slowly pumped his cock, Sasuke threw his head onto his lover’s shoulders and cried out.

“If you don’t hurry, I might be forced to do this roughly.”

Sasuke was half inclined to ask for it, as incredibly aroused as he was, but the rational part of his brain told him to take it easy, as he’d never been fucked before. ‘Maybe later.’

Sasuke added another finger, wincing slightly as the pressure stretched his muscles too much, but the pain gradually died down so he could thrust and scissor both fingers. He could feel Naruto’s erection on his hip, hard and hot, tempering the cold water sloshing over his skin. After a few seconds, in which Naruto continually tortured him with slow strokes of his cock, Sasuke reached his left hand up to place behind Naruto’s head while the right hand retreated from his ass and grabbed his lover’s member, guiding it to his entrance.

“Now, Naruto, fuck me now!”

“As you wish.”

Sasuke’s fingers tightened in Naruto’s hair, and he bent his body slightly away from Naruto’s chest, giving his lover better access for entry. Naruto’s hands slipped to his hips, and he was forcefully pulled back onto the fox’s cock. Sasuke cried out and leaned back into Naruto’s chest, taking his lover in even deeper, both panting from the growing pleasure.

After a moment, Naruto pulled out to the tip and rammed back in, hitting something inside him that Sasuke had discovered purely by accident when experimenting in his room in Oto. Bright lights danced before his eyes as Naruto repeatedly hit that spot over and over again with each deep, delicious thrust.

Sasuke’s right hand wondered to his own throbbing erection, and he began to stroke himself to the rapid rhythm Naruto was setting. This had probably been what they’d have done their wedding night, only with candles and a bed, scented lotions and him looking into Naruto’s eyes as he was taken by his dobe.

“Naru… Naruto… I want… want to see…” His words were accented with moans and groans, cries of pleasure that echoed in the enclosed space. Naruto must have understood, for he pulled himself out, turned Sasuke around, and plunged back inside of him, all in the same breath, the breath Sasuke was currently using to scream his lungs out in bliss. He locked eyes with his lover as his orgasm ripped through him, and he could see when Naruto was on the brink of joining him in ecstasy. The sound Naruto made was very nearly a roar as he shot his seed into Sasuke.

They held each other tightly as they panted for air and floated down from their high. The cool water around them lapped at their flushed skin, and the two shared a kiss. Rustling in the bushes nearby alerted them that someone wanted their attention, and Sasuke glared over Naruto’s shoulder at the gokenin that stepped from the trees.

“The elders would like to see you, Kazahaya-sama.”

“Well, it can’t be helped. Come on, Sasuke, let’s dress and return to the village.”

Sasuke held back a sigh and followed his lover to the bank.

____________

Three months later
____________

Sasuke brought the sword back to the center of his body as he ended his katas. He was outside of kitsune territory, tired of the kitsune warriors watching him train and commenting that pathetic human disciplines like that would never be able to take down a kitsune.

Also, Naruto was getting closer to his due date, and when his mood swings took over, his chakra went a little haywire. And Sasuke was very fond of his skin being intact and not burnt. Sasuke hadn’t actually understood at first when Nihara-sensei had said that Naruto would deliver at five months until the doctor had explained that kitsune weren’t human, but demon, something about the demon chakra developing the offspring faster than human women. Sasuke had kind of stopped listening.

He glanced up to the disappearing sun. Night was coming, and Naruto would more than likely be missing him. Sasuke began to gather his things, when a noise to his right had him in a defensive stance, kunai in one hand, sword in the other.

He waited as the sound grew louder, and his Sharingan activated so he could see better in the failing light. To his astonishment, a spot of pink peeked out of the green, and a tired, but undoubtedly female body, followed.

“Sasuke-kun!”

‘Dammit!’

“Sasuke, I’ve spent months looking for you! Now we can go back to Konoha and get married.”

Sasuke stared at Sakura. The girl was speaking nonsense. Hadn’t Naruto told them he was already taken?

“Sakura, I have no intention of leaving Naruto. Go home.”

“What are you talking about, Sasuke? Naruto’s dead.”

“Sakura-”

“Let it go, koi.” Sasuke turned around to see Naruto walking toward them, the sun catching on the silk that surrounded his rounded tummy. Sasuke couldn’t help but smile warmly at his fat dobe, knowing full well that all of that extra weight was his child, his and Naruto’s child. Well, maybe not all of that extra weight…

“Who is this, Sasuke? Why did he call you ‘koi’?”

“She’s apparently lost it, Sasuke. Someone will eventually come for her.”

“Why is that man pregnant, Sasuke?”

“Sakura…” Sasuke sighed. Was it even worth telling her?

“No! I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear it!” Sakura doubled over, her hands covering her ears, nonsensical words pouring from her mouth. Sasuke felt a pang of guilt, a little unhappy that he had caused this to happen to her.

“Don’t do this to yourself, Sasuke. She just didn’t want to face reality and found a way to blank it all from her mind.” Naruto placed his hand on Sasuke’s shoulder, and he hugged his dobe close, one hand unconsciously placing itself on Naruto’s stomach.

As Sakura’s cries continued, they felt a familiar chakra signal in the trees, and the masked face of Kakashi was soon facing them. He inclined his head and walked to where Sakura was still hunched over, his arms going about her small, shaking frame.

“Come on, Sakura. Let’s go home.” He looked up at them, and his eye crinkled in a weary smile. “I apologize for this, and,” he eyed the bulge under Sasuke’s hand, “Congratulations on your impending happiness.”

They bowed their heads in acceptance of the words and watched as Kakashi leapt into the trees with an unresponsive Sakura in tow. Sasuke and Naruto stayed where they were for a while, silent and close, both thinking their separate thoughts.

“She’ll be okay, Sasuke. She’ll get over it.”

“I hope so, Naruto. I really hope so.”

____________

Two months later
____________

“Male kitsune experience more pain in delivery than female, so I’ve suggested to our lord that he undergo some pressure point numbing. He doesn’t seem too confident that he can flex muscles he can’t feel, so he’s refused.”

“And you’re telling me this, why?” Sasuke stared expressionlessly at Nihara-sensei, though inside he was filled with so much nervous energy.

“Now, instead of merely being present, you’ll have to offer our lord something to focus on, to take his mind off the pain. I suggest you don’t go in there with that expressionless face on.”

“And I suggest you keep your suggestions to yourself.” Sasuke walked into the birthing hall before the doctor, seeing Naruto laid out on plush furs and blankets, panting from the effort it took to not scream with the contractions.

“Sasuke…” he whispered, and the raven-haired ex-shinobi kneeled down on the pillow beside the great lord’s head. He clasped one of his lover’s hands in his own, giving it an encouraging squeeze.

“I love you, dobe.” Naruto smiled up at him, a little weakly, but no less lovingly. Some time ago, after the incident with Sakura, Nihara-sensei had told them that Naruto had so much weight gain because he had twins residing in his stomach. Sasuke knew, because of this, Naruto was headed for a very long delivery, but it warmed Sasuke’s heart to know Naruto still was willing to go through the pain.

“Yeah, and just for the record, when I start screaming that I hate you, know that I probably don’t mean it.”

Sasuke heard Nihara-sensei chuckle, and he sent the old fox a glare that left little to the imagination as to its meaning: shut up or die.

“Alright, my lord, it’s time. Please, when I tell you to, begin pushing.”

“Got it.” Sasuke reached his free hand out and brushed it along Naruto’s forehead, wiping away the sweat that had already accumulated on his golden skin.

“Push, my lord.”

Sasuke was overcome with pain for a moment, as Naruto had practically crushed his hand with the initial push. As the fog lifted, he squeezed back, brushing his hand through Naruto’s damp golden locks.

“And relax.” Naruto leaned back a bit and breathed. “And push.”

It continued in this way for what seemed to Sasuke like hours. Naruto screamed often that he hated Sasuke, and the Uchiha was a bit hard pressed not to believe it. Finally, their first child was born, and an assistant took the child off. Sasuke wanted to follow, but Nihara-sensei told them it was time to start for the other one.

“I can’t. It’s too much. I can’t push anymore!”

“Uchiha-sama, this is where you come in.”

“I understand.” Sasuke turned to Naruto. “Come on, dobe. The sooner you start, the sooner it’ll be over.”

“That’s some half-assed motivation, teme.”

“You must push now, my lord.”

“Fine!” Naruto sat up and began to push as instructed, his hand once again gripping Sasuke’s painfully. His screams began again, and Sasuke idly wondered if his hearing was ever going to be the same again.

“Come on, dobe. Don’t give up. This child deserves to be in this world with us, after everything we’ve been through.”

Naruto pushed again, and relaxed, pushed, and relaxed, a steady pattern interspersed with screams and even more cries of hating the Uchiha. And then Sasuke had a stroke of genius.

“The sooner this is over, dobe, I can finally go back to kicking your ass.” He heard Nihara-sensei gasp at someone, even the Uchiha, speaking so to the great lord. He was obviously unaware of the strong rivalry that had gone hand in hand with their childhood friendship.

Naruto let out a bark of strained laughter. “You wish, Uchiha. I’ll beat your ass into the dirt!” As Sasuke knew it would, the taunt was enough to get Naruto’s energy to spike. The cries of their second child erupted into the birthing hall, and Naruto fell back to the furs exhausted. Nihara-sensei and another assistant left with their child, and Sasuke gathered his dobe into his arms.

“Naruto…” He lovingly pet Naruto, holding him loosely enough not to smother the exhausted kitsune.

“Sasuke…” Naruto raised his hand to wrap around his neck, bringing Sasuke’s lips down to his own. They shared a brief kiss before the doctor returned with their children. Nihara-sensei was holding one of their children wrapped in a dark brown fur, the other in the arms of an assistant, wrapped in a slightly less brown fur. The eldest of their children, the one Nihara held, was being handed to Naruto, who shook his head, indicating it should be given to Sasuke. Nihara-sensei hesitated for a moment, and then did as he was asked. Sasuke stared wide-eyed as the small bundle was placed in his arms.

“Congratulations, Uchiha- and Kazahaya-sama. You are now the parents of twin boys.”

Sasuke stared down at the small boy in his arms as Naruto was handed their other boy. Sasuke’s finger lightly traced his son’s chubby cheek where the fine lines of the nine-tails line adorned it. A small tuft of black hair poked out of the fur at the top of his head, and bright red eyes stared at him. It stunned him at first, partially afraid his son’s demon blood had brought out the Sharingan prematurely.

“Do not worry, Uchiha-sama. Their eyes will remain red until their chakra settles into a steady flow. Then their natural color will appear.”

Sasuke looked over at the boy in Naruto’s arms, an interesting tuft of orange-red hair sticking out from the fur. Nihara bowed and left them in private with their children.

“His hair is like fire.”

“Just like my father’s.”

Sasuke saw the sadness settled over Naruto’s face. Of course, Kyuubi was inside his love, but he should have been in the real world, watching his son’s happiness through a real body.

“What shall we name them, dobe?”

Naruto laughed. “Well, this little one, I think we should name Kei.”

“And this one?” Sasuke slightly shifted the bundle in his arms toward Naruto.

“You name him, Sasuke.”

Sasuke looked back to his son. Naruto had named his other son ‘Kei,’ probably because his hair was like that of fire. And this son’s hair was just like his, black, so black it glinted blue in the right light. It was like the night. “Touya,” he said, and he looked up to see Naruto’s smiling face.

“It’s perfect, Sasu-chan.”

They moved closer together so they could both gaze at their children.

“Uchiha Touya, the next in line for the throne…” Sasuke said.

“And Uchiha Kei, his born tormentor,” replied Naruto. They shared a laugh as both of their children yawned in their arms. “Hn, they think they’re tired…”

____________

Four years later
____________

“Touya, Kei, don’t wander too far!” Sasuke yelled to his children. They weren’t inside kitsune territory, practicing hiding their tails where the other kitsune children couldn’t laugh at them. They’d often been made fun of because they had human blood in them, but Sasuke just smirked knowing that the kitsune tribe had no idea what strengths those with Uchiha blood could achieve.

Naruto had told him that most kitsune couldn’t hide their tails until their one-hundredth year, and that initially the human blood could hinder that skill even more. But he’d gone on to say that because they were part of the nine-tail bloodline, it would overpower the human blood to an extent, and their children would probably be able to complete the skill in the same amount of time Naruto had.

“And why don’t you let your tails show?” he’d asked his lover.

“Because there’re nine of them, Sasuke. They get in the way,” had been his answer.

Sasuke’s musings were cut short as one of his children began screaming. Putting speed he’d acquired so many years ago to use, Sasuke caught up to his children, getting between them and the threat. Kei's golden eyes were wide with fear, but Touya's indigo gaze held a small bit of confusion. Sasuke momentarily wondered why before his eyes moved to the figure before him.

The wind blew, and a very familiar cloak caught his attention. The red and white clouds against the black cloth filled his eyes, and he frantically told his children to run back to the village. They did so, and Sasuke activated his Sharingan.

“What are you doing here, Itachi?”

“Otouto, have you given up on getting your revenge on me?”

“I couldn’t care less at this point. I’ve left that life behind.”

“Then maybe it’s time that I kill you.”

“You can try,” a voice said from the trees, “but you’re surrounded and won’t get very far if you do.” Sasuke watched as Naruto entered the clearing, a squadron of his gokenin spreading out around them all. “I am the great lord of these lands, and I will not tolerate the Akatsuki treading uninvited here.”

“Naruto-kun.” Itachi stared impassively at the kitsune lord, and then shifted his eyes to Sasuke. “I see. You are no longer alone, Sasuke.” Without another word, Itachi left the clearing, but no one made a move after him.

“Did Touya and Kei make it to the village?” Sasuke asked, his eyes never leaving from where Itachi had disappeared.

“They are being escorted back.” Naruto came up behind him. “I am grateful, Sasuke, that you don’t wish to pursue him.”

“Nothing I do now can hurt him more than the knowledge that I am no longer his puppet.”

“Hai, koi.”

Thousands of years later, tales of a great battle between the strongest shinobi village and a faction of the old Oto army, said to have been led by the reincarnation of their long dead Otokage, were taught as a proud part of Konoha’s history.

But the only thing that interested two very small boys was the fighting spirit in two of the battle’s greatest champions, a great kitsune lord and his mate, the head of a proud clan of warriors.

“I’m going to be just like the great kitsune lord!” one of them yelled to his entire class.

The other, eyes dancing with mischief, responded, “You’d have to stop being a dobe first.” The class erupted into laughter as the first boy began to shout in indignation. “Besides, they ‘lived’ thousands of years ago. Who’s to say they were ever real?”

“Real or not, teme, I still want to be just like him!”

And somewhere far away, in a village hidden deep within the forest, two men shared a chaste kiss, the sun glinting off their diamond earrings.
