The New Otokage

Chapter 14: Helpful visitors:

“Good morning my love,” the birthday boy greeted his blonde lover with a soft kiss on his whiskered cheek.

“Mmmmm morning Sasuke… happy biiiirthday,” the blonde yawned and stretched his aching muscles. He hadn’t been training for two days and still his muscles were just as sore as if he had been sparing with Sasuke or Kakashi-sensei.

“Wanna make out ´til breakfast?” The raven-haired snuggled closer to his blonde and began to nibble at his ear.

“Mmmmm Sasuke… I…”

“Don´t say you’re tired… we just woke up…” He tasted the tanned skin with his tongue.

“….. Ugh… I…” The blonde pushed him away and rushed off to the bathroom and smacked the door behind him. Sasuke´s eyes were wide and all movement froze as he heard a strange noise from behind the door.

The fox was sick! The Uchiha got out of bed and wrapped his almost naked frame in a dark blue robe before softly knocking at the bathroom door.

“… Naruto? May I come in?” He heard a low mumbling and concluded that it would be alright to enter.

Inside the room, he found his blonde lover on his knees, bending over the toilet with tears in his eyes and a very pale face.

“… Sasu… ke… Ugh…” He emptied his stomach into the bowl, with a series of strange noises.

“Oh God… Naruto!” Sasuke knelt down next to his Dobe and stroked his back to make him feel better. “Wait here… I’ll go fetch a medic.”

“No… no it’s probably just a stomach flu or something like that… no need to reveal my presence here to more people… I just need… a few minutes to… Ugh…” He threw up again.

“No, you’re not fine… I want you to be examined by my personal medic… just in case… I’ll make an appointment for you today and make sure you go there even if I have to drag you there myself!”

“… Sasuke…“the blonde sighed.

Sasuke didn’t like it. Naruto was acting weird. He had lost most of his appetite during this past week and now he was throwing up. Something was definitely wrong with his blonde… but what…? Naruto usually never caught the flu or any other illnesses for that matter because the Kyuubi protected him… Did the problem lay with the demon…? Was the seal breaking? Sasuke was worried and didn’t know what to do but to make sure that his lover went to see a medic-nin.

“Don´t worry about me, Teme,” the blonde gave him a small smile. “It´s your birthday and there will be a lot of guest you have to greet as well as a shit load of presents to open.”

“I don´t care about these things… all that matters to me is that you are alright… I love you, Dobe.”

“… Thank you, Sasuke… I´m already feeling much better because you are at my side… besides… I have the Kyuubi… it’ll take care of this illness in no time… it says I´m fine and that it’s normal to be sick sometimes,” he explained with blushing cheeks. Sasuke´s warm and honest words made him feel happy and loved.

“Yeah,” he mumbled as Naruto rose to his feet and reached for his toothbrush to get rid of the foul taste in his mouth.

“Um… would you be very disappointed if I wanted to try to get some more rest before joining you for breakfast?” he asked with guilt in his blue eyes. He had wanted so badly to be able to make this day something special for his pale lover and now all of this was happening.

“No, don´t worry and get some rest… I’ll go and finish some work in my office and check up on you later… so get better soon.” The Uchiha gave him a reassuring smile and kissed his whiskered cheeks before getting dressed and left.

One hour later in the office next to the bedroom:

Sasuke growled behind his desk. What the hell was wrong with the Dobe?! He would have to make sure that his lover went to see a medic… Even if he would have to beg Sakura or even Tsunade to take a look at the blonde and reveal that Naruto was living here, he would do it.

“Sasuke?” Naruto was leaning against the door-frame into his office.

“Hnnn? Go back to bed and rest, Sunshine!” The Uchiha got up and walked towards his blonde lover. He wrapped his arms around his lover’s waist and kissed him.

“Mmmmm minty freshness.” The raven-haired licked Naruto´s lower lip. Toothpaste… the Dobe had been throwing up again and his tanned cheeks were still very pale.

“Don´t wanna stay in bed anymore besides I wanna spend the day with you Sasuke…!” He kissed his lover’s lips lovingly.

“Good morning!” Kira gave them a grin. It was good to see that Naruto was out of bed. “I´m sorry to interrupt (so not!) but visitors from The Leaf would like to greet you, Sasuke-sama.”

“Who?!” the raven-haired hissed as he possessively tightened his grip on his weakened lover.

“Hatake Kakashi, Inuzuka Kiba and Haruno Sakura! They want to see you in person,” she said calmly. She smiled brightly at Naruto, knowing it would make Sasuke jealous.

Naruto suddenly felt queasy and he could suddenly feel his stomach turn. He freed himself from Sasuke´s grip and ran of towards the bathroom to throw up for the sixth time that day.

“God! Naruto?” Sasuke was at his side, softly patting his back again.

“Yeah… I´m… Ugh” he threw up again. Sasuke stared with worry in his eyes at his blonde lover.

“You’re not well! Would you feel better if it was Sakura who would examine you…?” he asked the blonde.

“No! It´s probably just the excitement… Just give me a moment, Sasuke.”

“Well It´s not just your decision, Dobe!” The Uchiha couldn’t help to worry since he had never even seen the blonde like this… This definitely wasn’t normal and so he decided that he would ask the pink-haired konoichi to take a look at Naruto… if he wanted her to or not!

“Sasuke-sama... Naruto-kun? Is this a bad time?” Kira looked at the unusually pale Naruto then at her leader as she had followed them into the bathroom.

“Naruto… are you not feeling well?” Her voice was filled with concern for her new best friend.

“What is it?” Sasuke hissed at her, his eyes still on his lover.

“Oh… I´m sorry, my lord, but they’re waiting outside… Do you want me to make them wait in a conference room?” she asked.

“Stay with Naruto… I’ll go talk to them!” he answered angrily.

Sasuke rose to his feet and ran his hand through Naruto´s soft blonde locks. “I’ll be right back with someone who can help you, Sunshine.” He then left the apartment to convince the pink-haired medic to help him and the blonde out.

He knew that he could trust Kakashi as he had helped the raven-haired with a plan to be able to leave the Sound unnoticed. As for Sakura, he could use her crush on him and her close bond to Naruto to make her keep silent, but he wasn’t to sure about Kiba.

“Naruto-kun... Is there anything I can do to make you feel any better?” Kira tried to lift his spirit by softly stroking his upper back.

“Thanks Kira-chan… But I think It´s passing… ugh...“ His body trembled under the unpleasant state he was in and he was forced to spit in order to clear out his mouth.

“Sasuke-sama once told me that he never even saw you catch even the flu… So why are you ill? Is something troubling you?”

“Nah … It´s probably just all the exiting things in my life right now… perhaps I need some rest.” Naruto managed to give the young woman a small grin.

He didn’t want anyone to worry, even though he was quiet a bit worried himself… Normally the Kyuubi would prevent any kind of illness and heal all wounds instantly, but in the last few days he had experienced that even small cuts didn’t heal as fast as usual. He had felt slightly queasy and strange… but he couldn’t put his finger on what the actual problem was.

The Kyuubi just kept telling him to relax and rest because everything was just fine. When asked why it knew he was just fine, the Kitsune only purred that he would find out soon enough and left it at that.

“Sasuke-kun!” Kakashi smiled underneath his mask and gave the Otokage a pat on his shoulder. He was waiting in front of the door; neither Sakura nor Kiba was in sight.

“Happy birthday!” The copy-nin handed him a small but beautiful wrapped gift in the shape of a book.

“… Thank you... you didn’t have to bring anything…” Sasuke raised his eyebrows, as he was happy that his former teacher seemed to remember his interest for reading a good book.

“… So did my tip do you any good?”

“… Yes, it did Kakashi-sensei… and that’s why I’d want you to pick up Sakura and come back here… I need Sakura´s help with something very important. I need to know if I can trust you on this Kakashi sensei... or I’ll have to erase your memories afterwards!”

“You seem very serious about this… of course you can trust me… What is wrong?”

“… I found him… I really found him and I brought him back here with me… but he’s…”

“Naruto? Is he hurt… wait here I’ll get Sakura!” And with a puff the silver-haired nin was gone only to return with a very stunned and angry pink-haired girl.

“Kakashi-sensei what the hell are you… Sasuke-kun?” She hugged the unmoving Kage with tears in her eyes.

He removed her arms from his neck and stepped backwards to get away from her.
“Sorry,” she grinned happily. “Congratulations on becoming a Kage and happy birthday… my gift is still in my…”

“I´m sorry to interrupt, but would you please be quiet and listen to what I have to say?!” He had to restrain himself from smacking her, because he needed her to help his Dobe… Therefore he spoke with a calm but emotionless voice and acted somewhat forthcoming.

“Oh sorry… I’ll listen,” she said with a sad voice. She felt a bit hurt from his appearance.

“I have a very close friend, whom you know very well, who needs your medical skills… Please follow me!” He turned on his heel and entered his private office.

“Who are you talking about?” Sakura asked. She felt a knot in her throat as she began to suspect who Sasuke could be talking about. The Uchiha didn’t call many people his friends. She followed his steps, as did Kakashi, into the office were something blonde caught their eyes.

“Naruto?” Both Kakashi and Sakura rushed past Sasuke towards the blonde figure who stared at them in surprise with blue eyes.

As they came within closer range they realized that the blonde in front of them actually was Kira and not Naruto.

“It´s alright Kira-chan, they are here to have a look at him… “ Sasuke motioned for her to lead the way to the blonde.

“I see, this way, Kakashi-san, Sakura-san!”
