Chapter 14: Invitations

¤ Kyuubi talking ¤

“Why couldn´t at least one of them be in love with me? Am I such a nuisance?” Kiba stared at the sobbing Sakura, who still wept at his shoulder.

“Sakura, things don´t always work like that in love. Aren´t you glad that both of them are finally happy?” Kiba sighed. He turned his head to look at his newly arrived girlfriend. He smiled at Hinata who just nodded before she left the room. She was not needed right now... Sakura needed to cry and Kiba seemed to do a good job by just being there.

“You… you… think… they… are… happy?” Sakura sobbed as she looked at the dog nin´s understanding face.

“Yes I really think so, Sakura-chan.”

She moved away from his shoulder and whipped the tears away with the sheet.

“It hurts so much, Kiba… Am I going to be alone for the rest of my life? Am I so unlovable?”

“I know that it hurts right now, but it will pass in time, Sakura. And don´t you worry, there is someone out there who is just right for you. You will find the one, too.” He smiled reassuringly at her and felt a bit more content as she managed to smile back at him.

“Thanks, Kiba.”

“For what? I didn´t really do anything!” he replied.

“You were here for me. Hinata-chan is a lucky girl for having someone like you.”

“So what do we do?” Iruka asked while pacing the room. He wanted nothing more than to be open about his relationship with his silver-haired lover.

“We could make out in public too… That would certainly turn some heads,” the copy-nin chuckled as he pulled Iruka down to sit on his lap.

“Do you want Baa-chan to split you up?” Naruto asked. He looked as if he was on the verge of a break through.

“What do you have in mind?” Iruka asked as he saw Naruto and Sasuke nod at each other.

'They have always been able to read each others mind somehow,' Kakashi thought in amazement. ´They have always been perfect for each other, there was never a doubt about that in, my opinion. `

¤ Are you sure about this, kit? ¤ The Kyuubi asked. ¤ We could always just grab our mate and go to our little demon friend in Suna! ¤

´Not an option, Kyuubi-san. Baa-chan would only hunt us down and kick our asses and Gaara would be in trouble too for hiding missing nins. I couldn´t do that to him,` Naruto explained to his furry companion.

¤ Gaara and the raccoon won´t be intimidated that easily, kit. ¤

´ That is true… but he would start a war with Baa-chan to help us out… and I don´t want that. But we could use his help… in a more peaceful way, heh…heh. ` the blonde chuckled.

¤ I understand perfectly, let me know if there is anyway I can help, ¤ the Kyuubi chuckled. He knew his plans as they shared the same mind. He had always considered the blonde as the child he had lost that dreadful night so many years ago, and he would do everything possible to help his kit to stay with the one he loved.

´I´ll do that, Kyuubi-san. Thank you. ` He smiled at the fox as it went back to sleep.

“I think it is time to show all our friends what a good cook you are, Naruto.” Sasuke smirked at his grinning boyfriend.

“… What are you two planning?” Kakashi and Iruka asked in unison.

“Well we aren´t allowed to show our affection in public, because of that stupid law. “ Naruto stated with a smile.

“So we have to find a way to make people talk about the issue of same sex relationships unofficially.” Sasuke added as he slung an arm around Naruto´s shoulder. “And what would be a better way to make people talk about relationships and love than to have a little party with the friends?”

“A party?” Iruka asked with curiosity. “But who should come and where should it be held?”

“We can have it at my place,” Sasuke offered.” I have more than enough room and most of our guests have never been to my house or the Uchiha district… so they are sure to come… if only to see how I live!”

“We should invite the rookie nine, Jiraiya, Gai, Asuma, Ibiki, Baa-chan and our friends from Suna,” Naruto grinned.

“You want to invite Tsunade-sama and Gaara?” Iruka asked in wonder.

“Yes! Tsunade will be attending as a guest and not as the Hokage, and Gaara has legalized same sex relationships and marriages in Suna; Kankurou is about to marry his boyfriend as far as I have heard,” the Uchiha explained.

“And as long as we only talk about it, she can´t force us not to see each other, because she dosen´t have any proof that we are gay… not that I think she would tare us apart anyway… Clever idea, you two!” Kakashi smirked beneath his mask. This plan could actually work without doing anything illegal or upsetting anyone to much.

“Iruka and I can make the food, while Kakashi can help Sasuke with the practical stuff,” Naruto said with Sasuke nodding in acceptance.

“A dinner invitation? At the Uchiha´s house?” Kiba´s eyes widened as he, Shino and Hinata were given the invitation by a masked Kakashi.

“I hope you´ll all show up.” He waved at them before transporting himself to the next people on his list.

“ What are you guys up to?” Kiba mumbled as he reread the invitation.

- Dear Kiba -

We here by invite you to our ´Summer’s end´ party.

Friday the xx.xx at 18.00 hours at Sasuke´s house in the Uchiha district.

“A party? Sure, we’ll be there to celebrate the power of our youths!” Lee cheered as he accepted the invitation not only for himself but also for Ten-ten and Neji who was sparring together on the training grounds in the woods surrounding Konoha.

“Well, this is the first time that the Uchiha invites anyone, except Naruto over. Guess I should go,” Neji said calmly. He wondered what the real reason for this invitation could be and decided that the best way to find out what is was was to attend to the party.

“How troublesome.” Shikimaru passed the invitations around the table at the diner. He was eating lunch with his former team.

“A party? At Sasuke´s place…? I´ll be there!” Ino cheered.

“A dinner? Sure, I´ll go too,” Chouji said as he stuffed another piece of meat into his mouth. “You’re going too, right sensei?”

“Sure, wouldn´t miss it for the world,” Asuma answered his former student with a smile.

“You´re having a party? How did those three (Iruka, Kakashi and Naruto) manage to talk you into letting them have a party at your place?” Tsunade gave the calm Uchiha a curious glare.

“Why not? I have a lot of space and I wanted to fill the house with laughter again. Besides that… isn´t there a small festival this weekend anyway? What better way to begin the festivities than a party?” he reasoned.

“… Sure, I´d love to come, Sasuke-kun,” Jiraiya said from the window, where he was currently sitting. He would use this party to promote his new book and hopefully be able to get some new customers.

“Count me in as well? Oh and Sasuke, will there be any games?” Tsunade asked.

“Maybe, Hokage-sama. Are you so eager to spend the money you earned on the auction?” He smirked as he remembered the auction that started everything.

“Hmpf… by the way... how was it to have a slave for a few days?” she asked with curiosity. Come to think of it, she hadn´t heard any kind of complaint for either Sasuke or her favorite gaki.

“Oh, it was good. I really enjoyed myself!” The raven smirked.

“I take that you were satisfied with Naruto´s performance then? He didn´t cause any trouble and did as he was told?” Tsunade asked with disbelief. Naruto was never good at following orders he didn´t feel were fair, and she had a hard time believing that the young Uchiha would be fair in his demands.

“… I am very satisfied… with Naruto´s performance. He is very…efficient and thorough in everything I asked him to do. We had a few issues at the beginning but we came to an agreement in the end.” Sasuke´s mind was suddenly filled with images the past weekends activities, and he had the sudden urge to storm out of the Hokage´s office to go home and seduce a certain blonde hottie.

“Good, I guess he learned his lesson then, and I hope he'll stop pulling pranks just to get attention!” Tsunade said. She could feel the change in the Uchiha´s behavior, he almost seemed happy and…somewhat tense.

“Oh I´m sure of it,” Sasuke said as he turned around and walked towards the exit. “I have to go; need to hand out more invitations,” he lied. He had already handed out the last invitations before he had gone to the Hokage tower. All he wanted was to get the hell out of here and go back to Naruto who was waiting for him at their now shared home in the Uchiha compound.

“See you Friday!” Jiraiya smirked at the raven as he left.

“He´s hiding something isn’t he?” Tsunade walked over to the window and watched at the Uchiha left the building, heading towards the Uchiha district.

“He sure is… and I can´t wait to find out what it is.” The toad nin grinned. He had already a hunch what the reason for the young man´s happiness could be, and somehow that included a certain blonde teen.

“Mission accomplished!” Sasuke kissed Naruto´s whiskered cheek and dropped down on the couch next to him.

“Good. Iruka and Kakashi have already dispatched a bird with the invitations to Suna. They went home after we decided on the menu, wanna hear it?” Naruto asked as he wrote a grocery list for the party.

“We´re alone then?” Sasuke purred into golden locks and seductively ran his hands playfully through the soft threads.

“… We are. Heh… heh. Horny aren´t we?” he smirked as he faced his raven-haired lover.

“Some people just don´t know the meaning of the words they say,” Sasuke mumbled as he placed sweet butterfly kisses on Naruto´s neck. He straddled his hips and pushed Naruto against the soft cushions.

“Nani?” the blonde asked.

“Never mind, not important. I want you so badly, Naruto.”

“I can tell,” the fox container purred. He could feel Sasuke´s hard arousal through the fabric of their clothing as Sasuke rubbed against him.

“Mmmmm.” Sasuke hummed as his hands found their way beneath Naruto´s black t-shirt. He caressed the muscled that moved slightly as Naruto took in a deep breath at the delightful feeling of warm hands against his heated skin.

Naruto slid his hands beneath Sasuke´s blue shirt and touched his back. Closing the distance between their bodies, he pulled the Uchiha closer to taste those delicious pale lips.

"I don´t think I want to go!” The pink-haired girl said with a deep sigh as she sipped at her tea.

“I think you should go, Sakura-chan!” Hinata said as she leaned closer to her boyfriend. She and Kiba had decided to invite Sakura over for tea at their new apartment, to cheer the girl up a bit.

“Why? To see them make out in front of me again? It´s hard enough that I keep having these… damn dreams about them together… Isn't it forbidden to have a relationship like that?” she almost growled.

“It might be forbidden… but love shouldn’t be restrained by some law,” Kiba said as he wrapped an arm around Hinata´s waist.

“I should tell the Hokage about this!”

“Don´t do that, Sakura! Do you want to destroy their relationship just because you´re pissed that you can´t have either of them? Would you really destroy their chance to become happy for once? I never thought you would be such a bi-“

“Kiba!” Hinata said sharply, to shut him up before he said something he might end up regretting.

“… Gomen Sakura,” Kiba muttered. “Naruto is a dear friend of mine… and I want to see him happy, even if it is with another man. I know how it feels to be truly happy with someone… Both Naruto and Sasuke has been alone most of their lives… I will do anything I can to help them become happy… and so should you. You are their friend, Sakura… Maybe you should start to act like one!”

“…!” The pink-haired girl just stared at the dog-nin who was looking deeply into Hinata´s smiling eyes. ´These two are so cute and happy together… is it the same with Naruto and Sasuke? Are they sharing what Kiba and Hinata is sharing? Real love and happiness?`

“I´ll go,” she said. “You are right… They deserve to be happy… even if I end up losing them both!”

“You won´t lose them, Sakura. They will always be your friends… and so will we!”
