Chapter 14: Secrets revealed

´… Tetsu-chan?! What the f*** is Itachi´s weasel doing here with the Dobe? ` Sasuke stared as the blonde dropped to the ground next to the brown weasel. Naruto took the offered bottle of water from the animal and petted its head. The weasel seemed to be in a great mood as it crawled onto Naruto´s lap to take a nap while the blonde regained his breath after the heavy training.

´They seem very familiar with each other. I wonder why Naruto and Tetsu are so close… it’s not like Naruto know Itachi… right? ` He thought. ´I don´t want to make hasty conclusions when it’s about the Usuratonkachi as he´s unpredictable in anything he does… so I guess I´ll observe the Dobe to figure out what’s going on here.`

Itachi and Kisame entered Hisoka village and went directly towards the address that the contact had given them.

“…!” Itachi raised a brow as they finally found the address.

“… Um Itachi-sama… are you sure that this is the right address? I mean… look at this place… are you sure that a sanin would enjoy spending his time here?” the blue-skinned man asked his partner. Kisame had a faint blush on his face as he couldn´t seem to tear his eyes of the lovely ladies who waved at him from behind the glass of the colored windows.

“Typical.” Itachi muttered. “Yeah this is the right address… this sanin is a true pervert.”

“Oh… alright then.” Kisame nodded as he entered the building with the colorful sign and illustrations above the door.

They were instantly surrounded by giggling females who were barely dressed. Especially Itachi seemed popular by the ladies though more than a few flocked around the blue-skinned Kiri-nin… One girl even groped Kisame´s ass which made the big man blush brightly red as he hadn´t been near any female since his wife was killed.

“Ah Itachi-kun, welcome,” A white-haired man with the red facial paint greeted them with a huge grin on his face; a pretty girl attached to each arm.

“… Jiraiya-sama… why do we always have to meet at locations like this one?” the Uchiha asked with a sigh.

“Ma ma Itachi-kun. The red light district is a huge source of inspiration for my books… and I feel relaxed here” The toad-sanin chuckled while he handed Kisame a copy of his latest book.

“Hn. This is Kisame, he´s my partner and a trusted friend.” The Uchiha said as he brushed of the giggling females off. They were a bit to clingy in the raven’s opinion… he would have preferred the company of someone else instead.

“I see. Hi Kisame, my name is Jiraiya and I´m the great toad-sanin and the author of the famous hentai and yaoi books with the combined title of ´Icha Icha Paradise`. I´m sure you´ve heard of me.”

“… No, not really,” Kisame told him. He was already finished with the first page and seemingly hooked already. He was so into the book that he didn´t see the disappointed look on the older man´s face. The frown quickly changed into a smirk as Itachi had to drag the continuously reading Kisame along as they headed for a quiet room.

Sasuke watched with great curiosity as Naruto finished his break before creating not only four but twenty clones this time.

Naruto and all the clones (A/N: except the one with the pointy ears) began to create a chakra Katana again and again till the blonde collapsed with a huge grin nearly two hours later.

The Kage Bunshin were all dispelled while the original blonde lay on his back with a satisfied smile on his face.

“I made it… I learned a new jutsu,” the blonde panted to Tetsu who had crawled onto his heaving chest. “And a really cool one too.”

“Well done kid. I´m sure that this will impress Itachi once he hears of this.”

´…! ` Sasuke´s eyes grew wide as his brother’s name was mentioned. ´So… Tetsu was ordered to stay with Naruto by my Aniki… but why? Does Itachi plan to steal Naruto away from Konoha… away from me? No I can´t let that happen… Itachi is a murderer… he can´t be allowed to corrupt someone as cute… eh strong as Naruto. `

´There really is more to you than you want to make us all believe there is Dobe… and I´m gonna find out just how much more there is hidden behind those lovely blue eyes and what your connection with Itachi is!`

“Well done kit that was perfect. Can you feel how the knowledge from the clones fills your mind with new information?” The foxy clone chuckled as he crouched down next to the grinning blonde.

“Yeah… it’s really awesome. Will that work on everything… with the clones and the shared information I mean?… like spying and stuff too?”

“You got it kit.” The Kyuubi told him. “You should dispel me and go home. You have almost used up all your chakra and it would be too dangerous to stay here all by yourself in your current condition.”

“Too late, brat!”

Naruto, the Kyuubi clone and Tetsu stared at Mizuki who had just stepped into the glade.

“Mizuki-sensei… what are you doing here?” Naruto asked. He had known that someone was watching him… but he had been unable to recognize their chakra and wasn´t expecting it to be one of the academy’s teachers who would be spying on his training.

“I´m here to give you a lesson demon… you weren’t supposed to pass the exam you little shithead. Konoha doesn´t need a demon to join the ranks of the shinobi.”

“…” Naruto was on his feet instantly as he felt six chakra signatures sneak in on him.

“Kit, Be careful! Remember what I´ve just said.” Kyuubi said. The Kitsune was only a clone and Tetsu was only a messenger weasel… not really a fighter though he had some skill. Naruto would be on his own and with only a small amount of his chakra left.

“Don´t worry… we’ll make it somehow. I can´t die before I see senpai again… I have to show him all the cool new jutsu I´ve learned.”

“So you really are involved with one of Konoha´s greatest traitors and seemingly you are deeply connected to Itachi. Are the two of you planning to release the Kyuubi and destroy Konoha again?” Mizuki growled as he signaled his men to attack.

Naruto blocked the first two of the attackers’ kicks and blows before the third nin kicked him in the gut. The fourth man kicked him in the head while he was on his knees before he attempted to break a few of Naruto´s ribs by stepping on his back.

“Kyuubi… would never attack… Konoha again… and neither would Itachi… or I… We want… to protect… everyone.” Naruto growled and spit out the blood that had run into his mouth as two of the masked men dragged him to his feet while the others were fighting the red-eyed clone.

The growling clone was quickly destroyed which left Naruto and Tetsu exhausted and outnumbered.

Tetsu tried to help as he used a ´Dai Endan` and torched two of the attacking nin. The weasel then attacked Mizuki and bit him in the leg and even tore of a chunk of flesh which was instantly spit out.

Mizuki screamed in rage and pain… and kicked Tetsu hard enough to send the furry animal flying and hit the trunk of a tree. Naruto screamed out to the whimpering Tetsu who now lay motionless in the tall grass between the roots of the huge oak it had hit.

Mizuki smirked widely as he stepped closer to the restrained blonde. He drew a kunai while he held a small container in the other.

“How do you think your fathers will react if they open this container tomorrow and find your eyes, tongue and heart inside it?” he asked the blonde.

“... Why? Why do you want to drag Iruka and Kakashi into this? Do you take some kind of sick pleasure in hurting others Mizuki?” the whisker-marked blonde growled in disrespect and disappointment.

“Iruka was supposed to be mine. But then you came along… and with you came that idiot Kakashi… I will make all of you pay… especially you… you worthless demon. They should have killed you at your birth.” Mizuki nodded at the two nin who were restraining the blonde. They chuckled evilly and tightened their grip on Naruto´s naked and sweaty torso as Mizuki stepped closer.

He raised the kunai and ordered his men to hold Naruto´s head still so he could cut out his eyes painfully slow.

A smoke bomb exploded between them and covered everyone in thick white smoke.

“Naruto may be a lot of things! A Dobe, an Usuratonkachi and a Baka… but he isn´t a demon and I´m not gonna allow you to hurt him… That is my privilege! And now I would like you to release my Dobe as I need him to be at his best for an important exam tomorrow morning.”

Mizuki, the four cloaked nin and Naruto just stared at the Uchiha as if he was a ghost or something as the smoke finally disappeared.

“… Teme? What are you doing here?” Naruto asked. He was surprised to see the Uchiha here. Was Sasuke spying on him… and if he were… why would the Teme help him, didn´t Sasuke hate him?

“I´m here to save your ass Dobe as it seems that you gotten yourself into more trouble than you can handle.” Sasuke smirked as the frowning blonde.

“…” Naruto, for once, was speechless and continued to stare at the smirking Uchiha.

“Uchiha-san? I thought you hated this monster. He is the vessels of the Kyuubi no Kitsune… which is the same as being the demon himself.” Mizuki told the raven.

“Hn. So that is why everyone seems to hate you Dobe.” His smirk turned into a serious expression as Naruto´s eyes grew wide at Mizuki´s harsh words. ´Dobe… I would never hate you… never, not even now that I know of your well hidden secret. `

“Well I don´t care about something like that. You might have a demon sealed inside of you… and you might be annoying… but you’re not a demon of that I´m sure.” Sasuke said honestly.

“…” Mizuki stared from Naruto to Sasuke and frowned. “Are you planning to free the demon and use it to destroy Konoha like your ancestors did Uchiha?”

“I don´t know what you’re babbling about but I definitely don´t like that you’re implying that my clan would ever do something to destroy the city they helped to build!” Sasuke growled. “Now release my Dobe or I´ll kill you all!”

“Ha! As if a snot-nosed brat like you would stand a chance against any of us.” Mizuki hissed as he and two of his followers attacked Sasuke.

This left only two of his men to restrain the blonde… and those two were more interested in watching Mizuki kick the Uchiha´s ass rather than to pay attention to the job at hand.

´Kyuu-san… would you mind lending me some of your chakra so I can help the Teme to kick Mizuki´s ass? ` The whisker-marked blonde asked his demon.

#I give you whatever I can spare kit, # the Kyuubi told the teen.

Naruto felt the burning red chakra of the ancient demon roam through his body and fill him with new strength.

He moved swiftly and kicked the brown-haired nin on his left in the balls as hard as he could. The older nin cried out in surprise and pain… he let go of Naruto as he fell to his knees; his hands on his injured body part.

“Serves you right you bastard!” Naruto hissed as he twisted his body and shifted from one leg to the other to ram his knee into the gut of the purple-haired nin on his right. The nin let out a pained whimper before he joined his partner on the grass.

“What a bunch of idiots,” Naruto snorted at them before he knocked them both out. He then turned his attention to Sasuke who seemed to have his hands full with Mizuki and the two remaining nin.

“Are you going to stand there all day and watch while I do all the work or are you going to help me Usuratonkachi?” The Uchiha hissed at the blonde.

“Teme I must have something with my ears or did you just as for my assistance?”

“F*** you Dobe. We are supposed to work as a team, remember?”

“Yeah yeah… I was just about to offer you a hand anyway.” Naruto barked as he engaged the battle.

Naruto took on the one who were cowardly sneaking up on the Uchiha from behind while Sasuke torched the other one, that way there was only one opponent left; Mizuki.

There was no need for orders or talk between the two teens as Naruto had a unique ability to adjust himself to the Uchiha´s way of fighting.

Sasuke was surprised to learn that not only Naruto´s movements and speed had adjusted to his but also his steady breathing; they moved as if they could foresee each others moves and they were able to fight Mizuki as if they were a perfect unit.

´This might become handy in future battles. Maybe it wasn´t such a bad idea to be paired up with the Dobe after all,` Sasuke thought briefly as he knew that it was a bad idea to slack of on the concentration by thinking of something else during a fight.

He knew from past Kendo lessons with his father that it could end really bad if he had too much on his mind as it broke his concentration on the matter at hand.

Naruto formed a few hand seals and used the ´Kaze no Muchi` to restrain Mizuki and buy Sasuke some time to concentrate on his next move as Naruto didn´t have enough chakra left to finish the academy teacher off by himself.

´I guess it’s time for some teamwork, ` Naruto thought with a sigh.

“Teme! A fire jutsu would be really useful right about now. My wind whip should power your Katon up and make it strong enough to defeat Mizuki instantly.” Naruto told him.

“… I knew that Dobe.” Sasuke barked. Since when did Naruto know how to combine jutsu to make them stronger? If they could work together like this and with a bit of training they would be able to defeat anyone real soon… Maybe Naruto was the answer to his revenge over that man.

“Katon: Gouryuuka no Jutsu!” Sasuke blew a great fireball directly at the older Mizuki who desperately tried to free himself… but without success.

Both teens allowed themselves to fall onto the soft, warm grass after Mizuki was lying burned, defeated and unconscious in front of them.

“Damn that was a cool combo,” the blonde said as he watched Tetsu ran towards him. The brown weasel had a limp and looked in pain but he still managed to pull it together to check up on his master’s favorite person.

“Naruto-kun are you alr-” Tetsu stopped midsentence as it saw who was sitting on the grass next to the blonde; staring directly at him.

“It´s alright Tetsu-kun. Sasuke might be a bastard but he´s an alright guy... aren´t you Teme?” Naruto muttered as he picked the animal up and sat him on his thigh.

“But Naruto… Sasuke is-”

“How are you connected to Itachi Dobe?” Sasuke interrupted.

“Why should I answer that Teme?” The blonde asked.

“Because Itachi… that man is my brother and a murderer… I want to know all you know about him and especially where he is.”

“It doesn´t matter what I know or not Sasuke I´m not going to tell you anything because you wouldn´t understand the reason behind everything that has happen. The story is not as simple as you deem it to be… and you’re still too angry and disappointed in Itachi to see things in the right perspective… I think we should stay of this topic and… Oh crap Sasuke WATCH OUT!” Naruto tried to pull Sasuke away but the shuriken still hit the Uchiha in the shoulder.

One of Mizuki´s men had regained consciousness and had thrown a few shuriken at the resting teens. Naruto removed the weapon from the growling Uchiha´s shoulder and threw it back at its owner.

It hit the nin´s neck and the man passed out again.

“Damn Sasuke are you alright!” Naruto asked with concern.

“Do I f***ing look alright to you Naruto?”

“…” Blue eyes grew wide and stared directly at the Uchiha who was trying to stop the bleeding.

“What?! What did I say?” Sasuke asked as he noticed the look on Naruto´s face.

“Y-You actually used my name.”

“… I did?” the raven asked. “Well I…Um… OUCH! THAT HURT!” Sasuke cried as the blonde snapped out of it and poked the Uchiha´s wounded shoulder.

“…Hm. The wound looks vicious.” Naruto mumbled. He wanted to change the subject as it seemed to embarrass both of them that the Teme had used the blonde´s real name for once. “You live alone don´t you Teme?”

“… Y-Yeah I do… why?”

“Come with me then. I live nearby and you need to get this wound looked after soon or you won´t be able to take the exam tomorrow.” He told the raven while rising to his feet. Naruto offered Sasuke a helping hand which the Uchiha hesitantly accepted as his shoulder hurt like hell.

“Follow me Sasuke,” Naruto said as he led the way.

Itachi and Kisame sat down on the way to soft couch and were both more or less forced to lean back as three giggling girls threw themselves at them.

Itachi growled angrily which made the girls concentrate on Kisame instead. The blue-skinned man blushed brightly red and tried to hide his face in his cloak in a somewhat cool manner.

Jiraiya was sitting opposite them and was currently drooling and hitting on the redheaded girl who was serving their drinks.

The Uchiha growled impatiently till the annoying girls left before he told the pouting sanin all about the Akatsuki, the Jinchuuriki and the Bijuu.

Jiraiya had a very serious look on his face as Itachi finished his report.

“This is really bad news Itachi-kun. I will have to return to Konoha right away and tell Sarutobi-sama about this.”

“Yes I think that would be very wise Jiraiya-sama,” the younger nin told him.

“And?” the white-haired man asked with a smirk.

“… What do you mean?” Kisame asked as he was about to turn a page in his Icha Icha Paradise.

“You want me to do something for you don´t you Itachi-kun?”

“Yes. I want you to take a friend of mine under your wing and train him as I´m not allowed to enter the hidden leaf because of my history.” Itachi said calmly.

“Who is your friend?” Jiraiya asked as he leaned onto his knees to move closer to the raven.

“You should know him very well Jiraiya-sama. He´s your godson.”

“… Naruto? Uzumaki Naruto?”

“Correct.” Itachi said with a smirk as he saw the surprised look on the sanin´s face.

“… Itachi… can I ask you something?”

“Go ahead.”

“Did you ever tell the council about your suspicion about the real goals of your clan?” the sanin asked him.

“Yes.”

“And what did they say?”

“… It turned out that they already knew about everything. They even encouraged me to dispose of them and Homura even told me that they never really trusted the Uchihas anyway. I never really had the chance to talk to Sarutobi-sama about it and I fear for Naruto and Sasuke´s lives” Itachi said.

“As I thought. One of my spies… eh friends in Konoha told me that there was this rumor that the elders’ didn´t trust the Uchihas… and that they were looking for someone who… would do their dirty work for them. Why did you kill your clan anyway?”

“…” Itachi told Jiraiya about his reasons for killing his parents and the clan. He told the sanin about their plan to use Naruto and the Kyuubi to get rid of Sarutobi-sama and claim the leadership of Konoha for themselves.

“…” Jiraiya was speechless as Itachi was done. He looked deeply lost in thought before he said something. “You want me to get Naruto out of the city and bring him to you don´t you Itachi?”
“Hn. Will you do it?” the Uchiha asked.

“Sure… Naruto is important to me too. I will bring him to a city of your choosing as soon as the Chuunin exam is over… you will be able to meet him there in a month.”

“Follow me Sasuke,” Naruto said as he led the way towards his home. They walked side by side and while Naruto looked straight ahead Sasuke stole glances at the blonde ever so often.

“Say Dobe… since when do you know Itachi?” Sasuke asked softly as he didn´t want to scare Naruto away and he really wanted an answer.

“… Quite a while.” The blonde told him.

“I see.” The raven sighed. “Are you friends?”

“Yes.”

“… Why? Did you know that Itachi killed our parents, his girlfriend and even the man he looked upon as his older brother?”

“I do,” Naruto said calmly as he tugged at the Uchiha´s healthy arm to make him go in the right direction.

“Then why would you call someone like that your friend?” Sasuke said with a raised voice.

“Because he gave up on everything to save everyone… including you and me.”
