Chapter: Seeing Blind
Chapter: Seeing Blind
He woke, but felt as if he was still asleep as he rolled his body, at least he thought he was rolling his body. Black, nothing but black, an endlessness of emptiness surrounded him everywhere. He pushed himself up with his hands, hands that felt as if they didn’t really exist, in fact his entire being felt as if it didn’t exist and yet it did. Him and this strange place all felt the same, here but fake.
Where was he? He didn’t understand anything but someone he felt that he should. He was cold but warm, here but everywhere, he was whole but broken. A rumble shook the earth under his feet, or was he floating? He shook his head as he wasn’t sure of anything anymore.
Who was he? Nothing came to mind that was definite enough to explain away the question. So he was no one then, but if that were true then why did he feel that it wasn’t? Something pierced threw his heart, and he clutched at a chest that wasn’t really there. What was this feeling? Anger, rage, trapped?
Suddenly he was angry, why was he here? Who the hell had the nerve to put him here? He didn’t have to take this shit! A loud roar echoed through the emptiness around shaking the world and making his vision go fuzzy. Then as quickly as the feeling had come it was gone.
He was on his hands and knees panting, taking gasping breaths of air that were not real, for he wasn’t real. What the fuck was all this? What the hell was going on? Why couldn’t he remember anything?
A strange sense of blood thirst washed over him, it was familiar this presence just like the last one had been. Was this who he was? Was that why it felt familiar? Something inside him told him no. Then what was all this?
He felt a strange sinking in his gut, everything going deathly quiet, he hadn’t realized how noisy it all was until just then. Looking up he felt the his eyes roll into the back of his head, and he was falling, infinitely falling with no end.
Something suddenly caught him, stopping his fall abruptly cradling him close to it, and the last thing he remembered was the color blood red.
~TBC~
